Hey Amrit I saw your post about 4 Lions getting confused about Roka and Sagai but didn't understand what you actually meant as I am a South Indian. So what is the difference between Sagai Mangni and Roka and which state or cast have these functions? Please reply if possible

Heyo, sorry this has been sitting here for FOREVER and a day.

Roka, in my Punjabi family at least, is more of a betrothal of sorts but some people do keep it synonymous with a mangni which would be an engagement. I don’t believe in the caste system nor do I put any stock in it so I’m afraid I can’t answer which castes do what.

Roka is, for us, a function that has the family’s meeting and shagan is exchanged. Mangni is the actual engagement where rings are exchanged. This is the case for Punjab, at least where I’m from.

Where can I watch IPKKND3 if I don't live have Indian tv where I live? Like so there a Google drive or website?

Here’s a hot take: villains should be relatable.

Not every villain, not every time, and certainly not to everyone at once, but there should be moments. We should, occasionally, be able to see ourselves in the bad guys, be able to understand how they got there.

Because it reminds us not to fucking go there.

Antis who get upset about villains having relatable qualities (often couched as being “romanticized” or “woobified”) are people who cannot bear to ever think of themselves as having the capability of being wrong.

Every human alive is capable of being a horrible person. Relatable villains remind us to keep an eye on that shit.

Mmmmmm in my experience, there is usually no chunni involved in the shagun during a rokh unless there’s no chance of it happening later. Chunnis are given during the mangni and it’s abshagun to do it twice. So unless they don’t plan to give her a chunni in shagun again, they’re unwise to do it now.

All a rokh is supposed to do is serve as a declaration that the couple won’t be wedding anyone else, it is not synonymous with an “engagement” (👀👀 @ 4Lions, this is the second time they’ve done this)
