“It bothers me that no one has the patience to deal with someone who is just sad.”
Emily Haines (via livingona-prayer)
I’m the b e s t at what I do. And what I do isn’t very p r e t t y.
“I have some money… I’m not sure if it will be enough though” she replied, rubbing her nape in a doubtful manner to then take her rupee sack from the pouch and hand it over, opening it a bit to show the bunch of rupees inside.
It was fine, actually. It was okay if she didn’t have enough. She just could sleep in a branch, that was also an option.
“That’s really kind of you. I hope I can return the favour at some point!”
If he did give her the money, he wouldn't have enough for himself. If he didn't give her the money, she wouldn't have enough for herself.
Hah, was it even a choice?
Pulling out his bag, he dropped the rupees into her sack.
"'S alright, kid. Don't mention it."
"No, seriously, don't mention it. I can't have people coming for handouts all the time."
Chucking to himself, he ruffled her hair lightly and handed back the sack. His hands were rough and his fingers looked red.
"Sleeping out and about is for guys like me, not girls like you. Even if it's just for a night, it's just a risk you can't take."
Parapa Palace Entrance (Remake) ZELDA 2 by Hyrule452
—— truthfully, she had no idea what she was hearing. king? impa? had she also been transferred to a different time as well as being changed into a cat? it wouldn’t surprise her— if one thing could happen, then the other certainly could, and neither she could explain.
when she was lifted, she became dead-weight, taking full advantage of being what humans so adored. and now she knew what her dog felt like, always treated like a king and waited on and loved so much. either way, this young man was warm, and the human-gone-cat was thoroughly pleased with what she assumed would be her quarters for the night: a castle.
she likened humming to purring— at least, that was what she’d be doing if she were human and found herself carried (but hopefully via piggy-back ride before bridal style), because a small vibration in her chest reminded her of singing, and both were mostly unnoticed as they went on.
nearing the castle, bright blue eyes opened slowly, and the black cat raised her head in attempts at getting a better look.
—now, exactly where were they?
The guards were finally learning to let him in without a fuss or heed Impa's scolding- as bloodied and muddied as the boy was, that still didn't give them an excuse to push him right back out. The gates opened, and they were through.
And the castle was a legendary sight, even unkept through all the years, still it stood tall and proud, with paintings upon every wall, guilded doors and exotic rugs, large doors and expansive rooms. "This place hasn't been used in years since Hyrule's royal family died out and nobody took over. Well, until now. That's why there's no servants or anything. Just guards and Impa."
Finally, he slid unnoticed through the halls, slipping in to the room he used. It wasn't as grand as every other room, but it looked comfortable. Old scrolls stood by the bed in ancient languages he understood, and obvious signs of life littered the bedroom. Passing through, he sat her on the bed and then sauntered off towards, the bathroom, tossing his tunic onto the floor.
"I'll grab you a bite to eat in a minute, OK?"
—— she was unaware of when her human form would return to her, or, really, if she could even survive long enough on her own, on the streets with other various animals, to last until then. and so, she shrugged off the fact that this young boy would probably be extremely frightened to find a nineteen-year-old russian curled up on his couch, given he take her in— though, she doubted he wouldn’t. thus, she did what any good (or bad) cat would do, and rubbed her forehead against his palm, and flicked at him with her tail.
Actually, he was only about three or two years her junior, and that was only really because of his birthday in late autumn. Though, russian would be a surprise, seeing as he'd never even heard of such a place, let alone heard the accent.
"Alright, alright. I'll see if I can sneak you past the old woman, Impa. She doesn't usually let animals through, so you've gotta be quiet until we're inside the castle. You're waaay too domestic to be feral, so I can't leave you."
Hoisting the feline gently into his arms, careful not to touch her stomach, he supported her back legs and held her like a child.
"This'll only take a little while. She lets me stay some nights when I'm near- she says since I'm going to be king soon, I might as well get adjusted to the rooms. Hah! As if that's going to happen..."

Fairy form;
Since a male fairy is simply unheard of in the LoZ franchise, except Tael but he's in another land and we've never really since a fairy of his colour since Link's fairy spell does include he becoming a she.
Mainly why it's only used in dire situations or when other options are just impossible.
She frowned and puffed her cheeks, while crossing her arms at his reply.
“Hey! He’s not a dumb fantasy character! He’s a legend!” she huffed “If anything, you should feel honored of being called like that… it means whoever calls you like that thinks you have potential to become a great hero! D-darn… I wish I was called like that…”
But there was no point in getting all sulky like that, was there? Upon thinking about how probably ridiculous she looked, Ivy just sighed and pulled her hood up.
“I told you, I don’t have a clear destination. I guess the nearest village? I’m just travelling, you know…”
"The nearest village, huh? I guess that isn't too far. You'd better stay there for the night, though, kid. You have enough lodging money?"
Actually, he barely did himself. Not that he'd use it, though, since he didn't really like being around people that much anyway. He was rough, so that was how he lived.
Still... Getting out and about had been good for him. Without this whole dumb quest he'd still probably just be wasting away like all the other poor souls unfortunate enough to be born into hard times.
Maybe he did have heroic potential after all.
"I'll see you to the inn, then. But that's it."
Physically;
Thomas Link is pretty rough, think 'Little Mac' style minus a bit of bulk. But he's almost always in bad shape with his weight, and health. He works himself dry and needs to learn how to pace himself, he's gotten ill before and he'll get ill again if someone doesn't teach him how.
Marks;
There's constantly scars on his skin. Old ones, new ones, intentional and unintentional. They, along with scabs and bruises, snake down his back and over his spine.
He's gotten better at combat, there aren't as many new ones. But there are blisters on his hands and feet- he wraps them at night and oh god they're sore, but he's always moving too much for them to heal over.
And along his arms, thighs, there are little notches, almost like insect bites.
But they're not.
Those are from worse days, though. He'll not be back to that in a hurry, and hopefully, at all.
— She frowned lightly. “What’s so wrong with this world? Aside from a few shadow beasts I see no problem with it.” She did rule this realm, after all.
"If I'm honest, it's... Well, it's soulless. Usually even the darkest and most gruesome of caves still feel almost alive. But this? It's not even dead. I feel nothing here. It's so unsettling..."
