On September 6, 2016 Oliver passed away at only 5 1/2 years old. He was diagnosed with Protein Losing Enteropathy in 2014 and we were able to keep him stable and very comfortable for a long time, all while visiting many hospitals (such as University of Penn, Garden State, Red Bank, NorthStar) and meeting with internists. Oliver lived a short but very happy and love-filled life. His decline came rapidly and suddenly and I truly believe Oliver didn’t want us to make a decision to let him go; he made it for us.
He was my world. His loss has devastated me and if you follow us on Instagram (@SherriRevolt), you know that I am still struggling with it all. At first, it hurt so much knowing how short his life was. We felt short-changed we didn’t have more time with him. Now, I realize that length of time doesn’t matter. The quality of it does. And he sure lived a BIG life in such a short amount of time.
I am begging you (whomever is reading this) to please follow me on Instagram for a special announcement. I have been working on a project (I began before Oliver’s passing without even knowing it was coming so soon). I am writing a book that will not only honor Oliver and everyone who has been in his (and our) life, but a portion of proceeds will go directly to help bulldogs in-need. Please find me on Instagram and help us remember and honor Oliver. I learned so much from him. It sounds silly, but it’s true.
I apologize for the late update. I couldn’t log in here for quite a while. There will soon be a website and social media accounts launched to promote my new adventure. And while my Adventures with Oliver have stopped in the physical world, he is guiding me on new adventures, spiritually. <3
