      victoire looked down at the shattered remains of her phone before gingerly picking it up in an attempt to not cut herself on the shards of glass. she tried to power it back on, but it seemed that it was not going to happen. it was toast, that much was clear. “so,” she mused, “think i could get away with saying this was normal wear and tear?” the question was more of a joke at her misfortune than anything else, but she was really  regretting not getting that extra insurance when she’d bought it a few months ago after losing her last one. and she was regretting not backing it up anytime since. “this seriously  blows.” she held the phone out flat in her hand and stared at it in dismay. “i wonder if there’s a spell for this.”

molly weasley — lucy’s grandmother, not her sister, which sometimes got confusing — had needed two people to help her take care of some things in the attic of the burrow, and victoire and lucy were the first two to respond to the call for help, which meant that they’d be spending a couple of hours together. lucy didn’t mind, really. she and victoire were not the closest, but they got along quite well — except maybe when victoire tried to get lucy to ‘lighten up’ — and there was usually no tension between them. victoire sometimes needled lucy about her past as a, well, tattletale, but she didn’t seem all that bitter about it, which the brunette thoroughly appreciated. “so, like,” she started, after sneezing three times in a row due to the dust that filled the room, “if you got to choose the colour of your christmas sweater, what would you choose?”

victoire almost regretted offering to help her grandmother out. at least, she could if the reward didn’t mean amazing food afterwards (and the satisfaction of helping her beloved grandmother, of course). but at least there hadn’t been any critters so far coming out of the dusty corners of the attic. and there was the added benefit of not doing it by herself, but instead had the pleasure of one of her cousins company for the afternoon. she snorted after lucy’s third sneeze whist trying to keep herself from doing the same. “uh,” she started, pausing her look through of some old family albums. “i think a nice rainbow pattern would be nice,” she admitted. “but i’d settle for purple, i suppose.” she flashed a quick grin towards lucy. “why? what colour would you pick?” she turned back towards the photographs, laughing at a picture of some relative that had died before her birth. “do you think he has enough gel in his hair?” she asked turning the album towards lucy.

“so,” iris started, looking over at the horizon, a glass of red wine dangling from her left hand. “you know how they say the moon affects like, the oceans? but like, we’re supposedly mostly made of water — or at least, that’s what your cousin told me the last time i was hungover and she pressured me to drink more water instead of more alcohol — right? so, like… imagine how much the moon affects us. like, we’re so tiny and it’s so big. and the oceans are immense and she manages to affect them, so imagine what it must be like for us. like, sure sure, it affects werewolves and all that. but even non-werewolves have to be affected by it, right? like, my cat always acts weird around the full moon, and if it affects her, why wouldn’t it affect me?”

victoire glanced over at her friend before taking a sip from her own glass, musing over iris’ words. at first, she wanted to laugh, but the more she thought about it, the more she realized she kinda got what she was saying. “well first of all, don’t listen to her. you can always have a gin and tonic to get water and alcohol,” she stated. it was a known fact. at least, it was to her. “but i get it. like maybe that’s why i hear muggles mentioning to each other to watch out because the weird people are out.” she paused, tapping a finger against the side of the glass. “i read once that the full moon makes people more accident-prone too,” she added. that would surely explain a lot about her own history. “i guess we’re all just weird,” she said with a small shrug.

“Okay, so, I figure if we have the chocolate fountain there—” Molly was saying to Victoire, pointing in the recently-cleared-of-gnomes patch of fresh grass, “—and the drinks tables alongside the edge of the house, we’ve still got most of the yard to work with, as well as the shed, and we’ve got all of the essentials sorted, if the food’s still good inside? So we could add, like, I don’t know, fucking statues of Lil and Lou if we wanted. We can go wild.”

Her eyes narrowed in concentration as she imagined the space filled with everything necessary for a great party. She broke out into a big smile before turning to face her cousin. “Perfect.” She ran through the checklist Molly had mentioned, mentally checking things off the list in her head. Seemed like they’d thought about everything so far. Drinks, food, novelties. Victoire snorted at the mention of statues, imagining the horror on their faces. “Statues are a must as long as they show our dear Lily and Louis at their absolute best,” she stated, a wicked smile on her face. “And by that, I mean at their most embarrassing.” She mused over how much trouble they could possibly get in for that and anything else they might plan. “What’s the adult supervision going to be like, do you think?” she asked, musing over whether they could sneak in some party favors. “No real reason, of course. Just wondering.”

okay so gonna try to keep this short & sweet, but i gotta lot on my gal here so i’m just including links for it all. i have a pinterest board here, a stats page here, a full bio here, social media page here, and some various headcanons that will be posted at some point today. i’m gonna make a connections page at some point (hopefully today) so i’ll add that here and in the chat at that time!!

okay so victoire is honestly a mess, but at least she’s fun (or so she always claims). she’s impulsive, judgmental, loyal, compassionate, social, reckless, and far too aware of how immature she is, but it’s something she’s working on. sort of.

she honestly wants to be just like her parents when she grows up (she refuses to believe she’s anywhere close to being an adult because who would ever trust her with any responsibilities?).

she was convinced she was going to be in gryffindor like so many in her family, but instead was sorted into ravenclaw. it was disappointing until she realized that it didn’t just refer to intelligence, but in her case, her cleverness and creativity.

her internship is with the department for the regulation and control of magical creatures because she is determined to be a magizoologist. she interned last summer with her uncle  charlie and loved it, but doesn’t want to limit herself to dragons. she wants to learn about all magical creatures and how she can help them.

she also plays quidditch as a chaser for the ravenclaw team and thought about going pro at one point before realizing she didn’t have the talent. she’s not bad or anything, but she’s definitely not good enough to play it professionally.
