it’s love at first sight
he’s never actually felt romantic feelings towards anyone before. since he was little, he’s always just assumed he was incapable of loving anyone, and has mostly come to terms with it by the time he joins Passione.
but then Bucciarati introduces Giorno to his team for the first time and he’s immediately taken aback by how cute you are. everyone sees him acting all flustered and just assumes he’s nervous about joining the mafia but in reality, he’s worried he’s having a heart attack because why is his heart beating so fast all of a sudden?
it doesn’t help that you’re the friendliest to him from the get-go. while the others’ first reactions are to size up the new guy, you’re shaking his hand and telling him your name.
Giorno hopes you can’t feel how sweaty his palms are.
he looks for you first after doing something cool with his Stand
he’s soooo obvious about it, too. like, immediately after pulling a crazy stunt that deals the finishing blow in a tough battle, Giorno’s first instinct is to check to see if you were watching.
once your eyes make contact though, he’s quick to turn away, hoping that his face isn’t as flushed as it currently feels.
you’re the only one allowed to call him GioGio
you’re actually the one who comes up with the nickname first. you say it out of the blue one random day and a warm tingly feeling manifests deep in his chest.
seeing how flustered it made him, you start to call him GioGio almost exclusively from then on—much to the amusement of your other teammates who assume his blushing comes from feeling ashamed rather than flustered.
Mista makes the mistake of referring to him as GioGio once and receives the coldest death glare of all time. the entire room goes dead silent from how tense the atmosphere quickly becomes and that’s the moment when the rest of Team Bucciarati clock that Giorno totally has a massive crush on you.

it’s been five years and he still gets flustered around you
it’s an open secret throughout the ranks of Passione—the fact that their fearsome, deadly don is so deeply infatuated with you. he can order hits and deal out punishments without breaking a sweat and yet the moment you enter the picture, Don Giovanna starts losing his cool.
it doesn’t help that you’re part of Team Bucciarati aka the Bodyguard Squad. it’s kinda obvious to other higher-ranking members that he favours his bodyguards more than other teams but it’s painfully clear that even within his favourites, he has a top favourite.
he brings you everywhere with him: meetings, galas, dinners, holidays, even interrogations. you’re his go-to if he requires someone to accompany him somewhere.
his default excuse is that the others tend to be busy with other missions and whatnot but it’s not really fooling anybody. the only reason he hasn’t been called out is because he’s literally the boss and everyone’s afraid of him.
Abbacchio’s not, though, so when he does finally voice out what everyone’s been thinking, Giorno just kinda stares at him and then leaves the room. after all, he doesn’t need to answer to Abbacchio of all people.
whenever there’s danger, Giorno is quick to protect you
which is weird because you’re his bodyguard but he literally cannot help himself. the second he senses any kind of threat, he pulls you to his side instantly. he’s done it so much that you’ve scolded him a few times before for not letting you do your job properly.
he can handle the scolding, as long as it means you’re safe from harm.
he regularly gives you flowers
these days, it feels like Giorno uses Golden Experience more for making bouquets rather than fighting off enemies or healing allies.
on an almost-daily basis, he will randomly give you a fresh flower just to see you smile. if you’ve been away for whatever reason, the longer your absence was, the more extravagant the bouquet becomes.
a single rose will simply not suffice if he’s been deprived of your presence for an entire week.
whenever someone unfamiliar asks if you’re his partner, Giorno just glares at them until they get the message
it’s technically not lying if he doesn’t say anything, right?
he knows it’s rather childish of him to do but every time it happens—every time someone shows their romantic interest in you—it triggers an overwhelming sense of jealousy and possessiveness in him. Giorno’s aware it’s not exactly the healthiest mindset to have but he literally cannot help it.
if it’s the other way round, though, and he suspects you’re showing an interest in someone else, the same feelings won’t surface. instead of being jealous and angry, he’ll just be extremely sad ;;0;;
you can tell he’s in a playful mood when he refuses to respond to you unless you call him GioGio
Giorno only ever does it in private or in front of Bucciarati’s team but it makes you flustered because it feels wrong not calling him Don Giovanna in any professional setting.
he’ll legitimately refuse to acknowledge your existence until you address him by the correct term. even though it drives you insane sometimes, whenever he behaves this way, you know he’s having a good day so you’re happy to indulge him most of the time.
“it feels wrong calling you GioGio and not Don Giovanna during work,” you tell him one day.
“but i was your GioGio before i even became don.” he says his reply SO earnestly, with such a genuine expression on his face, that it knocks the wind out of you.
despite all this, Giorno doesn’t feel the need to make a move just yet
he knows he’s been obvious about his feelings—he’s never tried to hide it from you. it comforts Giorno that you so clearly know how special you are to him and yet the way you’ve treated him has remained the same.
trying to put an official label on your relationship feels… intimidating. he knows he’ll have to do it eventually—and he certainly will when the time is right—but you’re his first and only love; and he wants to bask in the puppy love stage for just a little bit longer.

Bruno becomes highly attuned to your emotional baseline. He can spot the exact second the stress of a situation is about to force your Stand out, and he will often try to step in front of you to resolve it before you reach that breaking point.
After a heavy fight, he will completely isolate you from the rest of the gang. He knows you feel intensely vulnerable and embarrassed by how vicious you get, so he ensures you have a quiet, private space to ground yourself.
He begins carrying small items that comfort you a specific brand of candy, a soothing essential oil, or just a clean linen handkerchief specifically to help coax you back to your usual gentle state.

The safehouse door split down the middle, splintering under the weight of an assassin’s kick. Bruno’s zipper was already manifest, his hand reaching out to shove you behind him, but the enemy Stand’s ability hit first a localized pressure wave that knocked Bruno flat against the floor and shattered the windows. Through the ringing in your ears, you saw the assassin stepping over him, a blade raised.
Something snapped. The air around you grew suffocatingly hot as your Stand materialized with a feral, distorted shriek.
When Bruno managed to push himself up, the fight was already over. The assassin was slumped against the wall, unconscious and heavily bruised, and your Stand was fading back into your shadow, its parting hiss echoing in the quiet room. You were standing in the center of the debris, your hands trembling violently, tears of pure adrenaline and horror blurring your vision as you stared at the damage you had caused.
Before the guilt could swallow you, Bruno was there. He didn’t look at the defeated enemy his eyes were entirely on you. He stepped into your space with slow, deliberate movements, carefully taking your shaking hands in his own.
"Look at me, tesoro" Bruno murmured, his voice a steady, grounding tether. He didn't flinch at the wild, panicked look in your eyes. Instead, he gently used his thumb to wipe a smudge of dust from your cheek. "It’s over. You protected us. Take a deep breath... let the anger go. I’ve got you."
Abbacchio absolutely hates when people act fake, so he finds your Stand's rage oddly comforting. He knows your kindness is 100% genuine because your soul's darkest, most violent thoughts are already on display via your Stand. He never judges you for it.
He becomes incredibly hyper-vigilant. If someone is being rude to you in a restaurant or on the street, Abbacchio will quickly step in and threaten them himself not to protect you, but to protect them from triggering your Stand and ruining your day.
He discovers that heavy, firm physical contact helps pull you out of the trance faster than words.

An enemy Stand user has cornered the two of you in an alleyway, and a stray attack leaves a deep gash across Abbacchio’s shoulder. He grunts, stumbling back. That drop of his blood is the catalyst.
Your usual soft smile vanishes, replaced by a cold, feral snarl. Your Stand manifests, radiating a suffocating aura of pure malice. tearing into the enemy Stand with a violent, reckless savagery that leaves the alleyway covered in debris. Abbacchio watches, a grim, dark smirk forming on his face. That’s my love
Once the threat is obliterated, your Stand fades, and you stand there shaking, staring at your hands in horror, a sob catching in your throat. Abbacchio steps up behind you, his massive, coat-clad frame blocking you from the gruesome scene. He wraps his long arms around you from behind, trapping your shaking hands against his chest.
"Stop looking at it," he commands softly, his deep voice vibrating against your back. " You did good. Now shut your eyes and let me carry you out of here."
Mista thinks your violent side is the hottest thing on the planet. He will literally brag to the rest of the gang about how terrifying his sweet partner is. "Yeah, they made me cookies yesterday, but today they ripped a bumper off a car and threw it at a guy. They're perfect."
In a fight, he acts as your literal shield and sniper. He knows you lose all sense of self-preservation when the rage takes over, so he uses his bullets to deflect incoming attacks meant for you.
He learns that food is the fastest way to bring you back. He keeps your favorite candy in his beanie at all times.

You’re out on a dinner date when an enemy squad track you down. A bullet grazes Mista’s arm, ruining his favorite sweater and making him yell in pain.
Your Stand tears through the restaurant tablecloth, screeching with a terrifying, primal rage. It throws tables, smashes pillars, and lunges at the enemies with zero fear. Mista’s eyes go wide, a huge, goofy grin breaking out on his face despite the danger. "Holy shit! Go get 'em, babe! Number 3, Number 5, protect their blind spot!" He fires his revolver, perfectly syncing his shots with your Stand's wild swings.
The second the enemies retreat, your Stand pops out of existence. You blink, looking at the destroyed restaurant, suddenly realizing what you just did. You hide your face in your hands, utterly mortified and trembling.
Mista immediately jogs over, throwing his uninjured arm around your waist and pulling you close. "Babe!! That was insane! Did you see how you threw that guy through the window?! You're literally the coolest person alive. Come on, let's get out of here before the police show up, I'll buy you gelati."
This dynamic is incredibly deep. Fugo carries so much shame about Purple Haze, so seeing you the kindest, gentlest soul he knows suffer from the exact same violent curse breaks his heart, but also makes him love you fiercely. You are the only one who truly gets it.
He will never, ever let you fight alone. If he sees your Stand manifesting, he will purposefully position himself to act as a barrier between you and the rest of the world, making sure you don't accidentally hurt yourself or innocent bystanders.
He doesn't offer empty platitudes. He talks to you about the psychology of it, helping you rationalise the rage so you don't fear your own soul, ironic isn't it?

A group of low-level thugs corners you two, and one of them makes a highly inappropriate comment about you, stepping into your personal space. Fugo’s fists clench he’s about to snap. But you snap first.
The air grows heavy, and your Stand materializes with a terrifying, agonizing shriek of pure wrath. It lunges forward, smashing the thug into the brick wall with bone-shattering force. Fugo freezes, his eyes wide as he watches your normally peaceful lover turn into a whirlwind of absolute devastation. He feels a profound wave of love and sorrow wash over him.
The thugs flee for their lives, and your Stand vanishes. You slide down the brick wall, pulling your knees to your chest, shaking violently as the horrific anger leaves your system, replaced by a deep sense of self-loathing. “I’m a monster,” you whisper.
Fugo walks over slowly and kneels in front of you. He doesn't touch you right away, giving you space. He reaches out and gently takes your trembling hands in his, his grip firm and warm.
"Look at me," he says, his voice thick with emotion. "You are not a monster. It’s just the storm passing through you. You are the kindest person I have ever met, and a few minutes of anger will never change that. I’m right here. We can carry this weight together."
Narancia loves it because he finally has a partner who matches his chaotic energy in battle. He thinks your normal, sweet self is someone he needs to protect, but your Stand self is someone he wants to conquer the world with.
He will literally scream words of encouragement while you are in your rage state. He doesn't find it scary at all to him, it’s just pure adrenaline.
Afterward, when you feel drained and emotionally raw, he will wrap himself around you like a koala and refuse to let go until you feel better.

The gang is ambushed on a boat, and an enemy Stand manages to drag Narancia underwater. You panic, hearing his muffled screams. The pure terror transforms into blinding, violent fury.
Your Stand manifests, diving straight into the water with a terrifying roar that sends a geyser of foam into the air. It rips the enemy Stand off Narancia with monstrous strength, throwing the user onto the deck of the boat like a ragdoll before utterly destroying them. Narancia breaks the surface, gasping for air, just in time to see your Stand tear the enemy apart.
When you get back on deck, your Stand disappears, and you immediately burst into tears, overwhelmed by the sudden drop in adrenaline and the sheer violence of what your soul just did.
Narancia doesn't care that he's soaking wet. He tackles you into a massive hug, burying his face in your shoulder. "You saved me! You were like a giant shark, it was so cool! Don't cry, please don't cry, you're the best partner ever! Look at me, I'm okay! You beat them up for me!" He kisses your cheek repeatedly, his wet hair dripping everywhere, entirely washing away your guilt with his pure joy.
Giorno is fascinated by the duality of your mind. He makes it a personal mission to study the exact psychological triggers of your Stand so he can minimize your distress.
He doesn’t need to speak to you when you’re enraged. He reads your Stand's aggressive body language perfectly, using Gold Experience to alter the terrain turning concrete into vines to trap enemies right in your path of destruction.
He knows the violent outbursts leave your physical body exhausted and aching, so he always prepares a specific routine of healing, hydration, and quiet affection afterward.

He doesn't look horrified He uses his power to turn a shattered brick into a swarm of bees, driving the enemy directly into your Stand’s lethal firing line.
When the dust settles, your Stand vanishes, and you instantly collapse from exhaustion. Giorno is already there, catching you before you hit the pavement. He lifts you into his arms style, walking away from the carnage as if nothing happened.
He presses a soft kiss to your sweaty forehead. "You were magnificent, my love. Your wrath is a beautiful thing when it keeps us alive. Rest now I will take care of the rest."

He understands hair can be a hassle to take care of and not to mention the near death experiences you took in battle due to it.

He whisper to the cat. All the cat did in return was softly blink at Joseph. Joseph became even angrier . All he could think about was throwing the cat off the bed. He knew better though, if he did that he would surely get kicked to the couch. he turned over to face the wall and was still very pissed. The next morning you noticed that Joseph was in a foul mood. The claws of jealous slowly grabbing at him. He tried going up to get water, he should calm down. When he came back the cat was still sleeping peacefully in your arms. Speedwagon shed actual tears into his handkerchief from holding his laughter back at the Joestar's dumbfounded look. The blond knew that at any moment Jonathan would enter to see you wearing his clothes and acting like him, as if you wore him instead.
— ☆ Honestly, Jonathan finds everything cute. He'd lean against the doorframe, arms crossed and smiling while you kept going—doing his signature poses, his famous lines and doing probably one of the best voice mimicks of “DIO!” he's heard so far. Speedwagon would nod his head, practically on the verge of pissing himself pale at how hilarious this whole thing was in his perspective.
— ☆ When you're finished and ask Speedwagon how accurate you were, Jonathan would softly clap behind you, a chuckle slips him when he sees you freeze.

Literally gone, he's running out of air to laugh as you STILL keep adding to the joke while acting. You're doing these extra-over-the-top poses and his signature “Your next line is..!” sentences while Caesar's probably meeting with god for the third time. His laughing has gone mute, a hand is slapped over his eyes as his mouth gapes open in silent laughs while his elbows rest on a table and, he's leaning to the side like he's going to fall—that's how serious it is.
— ☆ Joseph wouldn't announce his presence immediately, he'll use you for it. He'll send a tickle of hamon into your shoe—which caused you to giggle and lose your balance. In a swift motion, his arms envelope your torso and he lifts you; you dangle like a cat as he smooches your cheek so hard an actual cat outside the window side eyed him.
“Awe look at you baby! My mini, cuter version!”
— ☆ Cuteness aggression. I can see him falling victim to it's hands. Showers you in kisses, whispering how good your impersonation of him was. Caesar had to cough twice to remind you two that he's still present in the room.
— ☆ Like his great grandpapa, he too gets excited seeing you wear his clothes—and he is very open about it. Keeps your body impossibly close to him, he's practically squeezing you into him while one of his big hands cup your face and he smothers it with kisses. You swear you can feel something like a brick in his bottoms but never commented on it as you enjoyed his over burst of affection. Caesar had already skidaddled by the way.

— ☆ Frankly, Jotaro doesn't react. Nothing out of the ordinary. It was also purely coincidental, he was just strolling around the house for the shits and giggles.
— ☆ Kakyoin definitely is making sure you get Jotaro's full personality to the spot. From the facial expressions to the tone—he's adjusting your posture and altering your words like a teacher, all the while he giggles at how accurate you get. But the laughter abruptly pauses when the two of you freeze like deers in headlights hearing the living room door opening. Jotaro raises his eyebrow in concern. He heard everything. Somehow.
— ☆ He stays dead silent until someone speaks up; he's standing in the doorway like a statue while his eyes glance between his best friend to his lover. Kakyoin quickly makes up some excuse out of his ass cracks and luckily slipped away; which meant you were on your own. Jotaro shakes his head, mumbling his famous line you were just saying earlier. But when he looks at you again, you can see that barely held smirk of his.
“Good grief [Name].. Why'd you steal my clothes? I can't even see you properly in all those layers.”
— ☆ He takes his clothes back, AFTER he files away the memory of how loose they are on your figure. They are literally on the verge of falling down because they are hanging onto you with the help of half a dream. Once he takes his clothes back, he decides to let you keep his hat. When you ask him why, he'll mumble something along the lines, “It suits you.”
— ☆ Jotaro thinks for a moment whether to act on his thoughts or not when he sees your exposed shoulders after taking his coat (he wants to bite you). But in the end, he opts to tip your head back and bend down to press a brief peck to your lips. He does flick the hat down onto your face right after.
JOSUKE HIGASHIKATA .
— ☆ Josuke, Okuyasu and you were having a sleepover at his house. His mom (on my knees) called him to help her with some stuff so he had to leave for a bit—leaving you two together. When he comes back, the door is slightly cracked open so he's given a view of what's going on. Absolutely devastated you didn't include him. He would have loved to join!!
— ☆ He pouts as he watches from the sidelines, you strike another pose and Okuyasu choked on his laughs when he noticed his best friend. But, Josuke also can't help but feel the way his heart fluttered—the way you portrayed him, it doesn't matter if it's accurate or not. Just the thought makes heat rush up his cheeks, and his heart thumps against his chest a little more insistently. It wasn't long when his presence entered the room.
“Babe!! You don't need to to do this when you have the real deal right here!”
— ☆ He hugs you from behind, arms snaking around your waist while he rests his cheek on your shoulder, tilting his face to look up at you. His lips push out in a very cute pout, Okuyasu suddenly has the feeling to flee. The higashikata, even still sad you didn't include him, does give you loving cheek kisses. Josuke smirks when he smells your scent mingling with his own—he'll definitely wear the clothes you're wearing tomorrow so he can have your scent wrapping around him like a blanket.
GIORNO GIOVANNA . (Don ver.)
— ☆ Also very frankly, doesn't know how to react. He was looking for some files and his ears accidentally caught your voice.. doing a very strong tone that sounds similar to his.. Curiosity poked the cat's ass, so he peeked from the widely opened door and he made an expression that seemed to twist from shock, confusion and a little bit of everything cute. He looked like a very expressive head that floated into the picture (guys can you imagine it, I swear it's so funny.)
— ☆ Mista is already crying-laughing into the couch pillow, he's ascended levels not even Dio could. Giorno feels a little guilty stepping into the scene—You, confidently doing his poses, and Mista who's probably going to have a 25 abs pack after this. He clears his throat very softly, and smiles when he sees you visibly tense up.
— ☆ Moment you turn around, Giorno becomes the ash baby meme; he's flashed. But is also a little freak about it, your eyes are down there definitely. Because all of a sudden he's talking with your chest view, and you don't even know because he's so subtle about it. Now he understands why people finds his boob window so attractive; he's blushing hard. He also has something for your chest; just the thought of running his hand through that area, close to where your heart hums. It feels as if he has your heart right under his fingers...I blame this on the Dio genes personally.

— ☆ Jolyne decides she'll make herself present in the most jolyne way possible. She strikes the same exact poses you're doing while poor Ermes is dying. It's only when you finally notice her, is when she jumps you. Into a hug. Straight to the ground.

— ☆ Tickles you. Yes, I can visualise her doing that to the sides of your exposed stomach and under your arms. He pleads guilty to all charges of being completely whipped for his gf.)

For example, he gives a piece of jewelry or some other sort of lavish trinket to celebrate every month of your relationship once you're really serious with one another. These pieces are usually custom-made — yes, he has a high-end jeweler on hand that knows him by name — and carry some sort of sentimental meaning or message. On the less expensive side of the spectrum are the bouquets Bruno has sent to your doorstep every week and the little things that catch his eye while he's out and about doing business in Naples. He loves going shopping with you because he means he gets to watch you try on clothes and carry all your bags for you like a good boyfriend — plus, if you stop by a mall, that means he can get one of those soft pretzels with cheese he loves so much! No matter how much you spend, Mista isn't one to say no to you, so use that to your advantage and make his pockets hurt! (Thankfully, mafia work pays pretty well, so you're not gonna make him go broke lol)!

I think he has a bit of anxiety surrounding money considering how abruptly he was cut off from his family's wealth, so he makes a point to save and budget to an almost obsessive degree. That being said, he's not so penny-pinching that he won't buy you gifts — he actually quite enjoyed taking the time to pick something out for you — but they won't be all that common an occurrence. (He still allows himself some wiggle room for a spontaneous gift, which is even rarer lol).
‧₊˚ ┊ Fugo does, however, frequently give you flowers. It's a classic romantic gesture that isn't as detrimental to his wallet as a new pair of shoes or Cartier bracelet. Being the huge nerd he is, Fugo goes out of his way to pick out the flowers himself to convey some sort of message though the language of flowers! If you ever clock his tea, he'll deny it up and down, but that won't stop him from continuing to craft these bouquets himself. More expensive gifts like jewelry and the like are only really bought on special occasions like anniversaries or holidays. Fugo is a bit of a perfectionist, so he'll painstakingly spend literal months searching for the perfect gift for you! (As you can see, I'm also on my loverboy Fugo agenda lol).

He has your favorite drinks as treats memorized and will make sure to pick them up for you while he's filling his basket with chips, candy, and the like! For Narancia, sharing food is something that comes from a place of deep love and trust, so don't overlook how important this is to him!
‧₊˚ ┊ Also, Narancia really likes buying stuff for the two of you to match! He particularly likes getting you both matching bracelets or keychains! He's also secretly a big Sanrio fan — Pochaco and Keroppi are his favorites — and will buy little knickknacks and blind boxes for you! Yes, Narancia has bought a labubu or two, but he keeps those at home on a shelf because he's not about to get it snatched off his bag after paying out the ass for it. He grew up comfortably in terms of financial stability, but he obviously wasn't getting enough allowance from his parents to go around buying the luxury brands he's able to afford now. That being said, Giorno doesn't spend frivolously. While he does spend a pretty penny at the Louis Vuitton store, he's not down there every week dropping a fortune. (Said store does, of course, know him by name since he's one of their best customers lol. He'll every luxury retail store in the vicinity of Passione HQ knows him and some even go so far as to close their stores to the public when they know he's gonna stop by lol).

He inherited a rather sizable bank account from Diavolo after taking his place, and you best believe he's gonna spend those ill-gotten gains on luxury goods. Of course, you're free to take his card to go spend to your heart's content — just be prepared to show him your haul when it's all said and done! He likes going shopping with you, but is terrible when it comes to decision-making and will instead just tell you to buy whatever instead of choosing one or the other.
‧₊˚ ┊ Other than luxury items, Giorno has a tendency to spend a lot on self-care products! A nice, relaxing night in papering each other is one of his favorite ways to spend time with you! “Gio…” you say, trying to contain a laugh and looking down to see what’s been tickling your ankles. “You’re blooming.”
The blush on his face is instant, he looks back so you can’t see it before looking down at all the flowers and grass that bloomed between you two, joining your ankles together.
“I promise this has never happened to me,” he says quickly, eyes wide and eyebrows raised. The grip on your waist tightens just a little bit, Giorno trying to ground himself.
Your hands move to his head, cradling his cheeks between them until he’s pouting a little. “I’m glad to hear that,” you say in a whisper, leaving a peck on his nose.
He forms a shy smile then sees you crouching enough to take one of the flowers and tuck it behind your own ear. Giorno licks his lips, wanting to kiss you again but his words come out faster. “I’m sorry, this was awkward…”
“Ah, ah.” You shake your head, resting your arms on his shoulders. “You can bloom all the flowers you want around me, baby, I’ll take them all.”

i have total respect for authors who write longer fics/ those with an entire plot spread across many chapters. so when i read your post i thought damn, fandom etiquette has gone downhills to the point where even (long) one-shots get taken for granted. i get frustrated with blank pages on this platform. most readers don't want to engage with the writer beyond likes as if the writer didn't sit in front of the screen for days up to weeks and months. the same ones who post about how obsessed they are with fanfics don't reblog writers with a varitey of stories. as if we aren't on a literal platform that is built on reblogs.
comments, reblogs and just a simple question to get an story update is apparently not an option. it's idiotic and i have to be honest i do question the emotional intellegence of folks who get bratty on here when they themselves never attempted to write fanfiction/ contribute to the fandom 😛 you are in control of your writing so don't get pressured.
absolutely! people treat fanfics like they've paid for them, and they absolutely have not - if you want stories for FREE you have to do your bit and contribute to stories that maybe aren't exactly what you want, i personally think a large number of tim fics are ooc, but i still interact with them and give the author some love because that's what grants people free stories
it is a PRIVILEGE to read fanfics, authors are not paid shit for their work and creativity, you are reading something that someone made out of pure love, not for profit or reward, but because they love whatever fandom you're reading about, they love writing and they want to contribute to the community
so yes i will be the one in the comments of ao3 spamming a million hearts and 'glazing' the author and telling them how much i loved their fic, even if i didn't like parts of it (like tim's characterisation for example) i will always find something to make a song and dance about because that's what authors deserve
it especially pisses me off when people say 'i can't read anything below 250k' and then never interact with the fic beyond reading it, if you absolutely can not read anything below 100k or even 10k, at least make a fuss over the author and tell them you would give your first born child to them because of how good their fic was
i'm not telling you to lie about whether you enjoyed the fic, but if you read to the end, there was clearly something keeping you reading and you should tell the author what that was and praise them
hot take: if you only read completed fics, fics over 100k words or never comment or leave kudos or interact with fics, you are actively contributing to the decline of quality and quantity of fanfics
you are allowed to have preferences, i prefer oneshots that around 7k words, but i still interact with and read on going works and 300 word drabbles
it's absolutely insane to put pressure onto authors to write 100k words as a minimum, it's going to end up in quality of fics going down because in order to get motivation and engagement, authors will have to throw together fics to try and meet your, frankly absurd, standards
you have zero right to complain about any fic if you only read very, very specific fics that meet your threshold of being over 100k words, 100k words is at the VERY least 10 hours of straight writing, 1k takes me 2 hours to make because i like to make sure the quality is as best as i can get it
bash me all you want but when quality of fics start to go down you only have yourself to blame - fanfic authors do this for free on their own dime and time remember that when you complain about word counts or incompleteness
