Honestly though.

I’ve seen worst casting calls than the one for the Nick Jonas video too. Worst ones have been public published on the interwebs.

It’s hilarious to me how much white people flipped their shit over Hamilton supposedly excluding them in the call for that show, when poc are constantly referred to as all sorts of derogatory names in castings.

That second one, it’s not unbelievable that a black actor was tricked into doing a racist commercial for a Chinese company and didn’t know until he saw the finished product.

Actors have spoken about not knowing what the finished product of their film looks like, or talked about finally seeing the finished product because they only get their scenes, which are eventually edited in post production. There are entire films and performances saved in editing. It’s not like this is some big secret.

I saw soooo many people saying the Nick Jonas casting was fake, which is why I chimed in. actors see that shit all the time! and the reason more don’t call it out is cause we want to work! it’s very easy to get blacklisted for calling out racism & sexism in the industry. there are literally millions of actors waiting in line to snatch up work so it’s nothing to kick you to the curb and cast someone else.

I booked a job once where they didn’t tell me the actor in the scene was fully nude until the morning of the shoot! the new script was mad suggestive and had me saying/doing things I hadn’t agreed to and was COMPLETELY different from what I auditioned for. this was right after I had gotten engaged and they had me saying some really messed up stuff about relationships and marriage and It was so so gross. I had to fight to get out of it because I had already signed a contract & the first half of my payment has been deposited. Thank goodness my agents are amazing so I got out of it, but the client replaced me by that afternoon no problem.

By now you have already probably seen that disgustingly racist chinese detergent advert and the common reaction is to blame the black actor in the clip for his involvement but apperently he was tricked and he is getting literally hatred from black people and high horse non blacks who are using this as a opportunity to further bash us

Considering he’s only in the first half of the commercial chances are he was only on set for his portion and didn’t know how it ended. It’s not unusual for actors to only get part of the script for a commercial shoot, especially if the client wants to keep the project under wraps until it’s released. They also could’ve shot multiple endings to give the impression the commercial would end a different way. Or they just lied to him about the commercial in order to cast him. Believe it or not that happens more than people like to admit.

After working on this illustration for almost a week, I can finally show the final version of it!

I experimented A LOT with color palettes and different ways to paint in the process. In addition, it was the first time I tried to explain my perception of two of my favorite characters in the series and their relationship through their poses/expressions. It was so much fun tbh !! :’))

Oh, btw I was inspired by this song when I drew the first sketch!
