Right, I think this has been a long time coming, since his muse hasn't been active in literal years, but I'm archiving this blog - and @aedificatorr - as I'm still attached to the stories I've told on these blogs, so they'll stay up.

What is Callisto's gender, anyway?

In short? No.

In long? Their entire species is, by default, entirely genderless, and only really human shaped when they want to be or for sport, so the Aedifex as a whole just don't have a concept of gender or sex at all. They're fully capable of reproducing asexually - or, like Omnis did, simply spawning into existence as a child. They do sometimes reproduce manually, but like.... eh, that's work, they're not interested in the consequences of their actions.

In other words - it literally doesn't matter at all to them. If you ask them they'll say "whatever's funnier for the bit."
