anyway onto a happier topic I saw a post saying “SKINNY PEOPLE CAN COSPLAY ROSE, AMETHYST AND SADIE” and I just wanna say in response

why would you as a skinny person wanna cosplay those three characters when there’s literally hundreds of fucking skinny characters for you to cosplay why don’t you just let us have something that’s ours and fuck off

btw if you’re skinny and you cosplay a canonically fat character I fucking hate you

I just worry about any kind of movement in the direction of supporting the idea that cosplay is about being a carbon copy of the character. This is what leads to elitism about having perfect wigs, the exact matching fabric, the right height, the right body type, the right skin color, the right facial features, perfect makeup and all the other things involved with telling people to “stick to who they look like.” This is what leads to Black Clouds being asked why they didn’t just cosplay Barrett. This is what leads to fat Ariels being asked why they didn’t cosplay Ursala. This is what leads to tall Aryas being asked why they didn’t cosplay Brienne. This is what leads to and older Zuko cosplayer being asked why he didn’t just cosplay Ozai. This is what leads to newbies in poorly-constructed Garnet costumes to be asked why they didn’t cosplay something easier like Connie. This is what leads a natural brunette who doesn’t want to wear a wig to be asked why they cosplayed Sailor Venus instead of Sailor Jupiter.Because of this idea that cosplay is a replication competition.

Then there’s the whole idea that cosplaying someone “takes it away” from someone else. A lot of times in the cosplay community, once someone does a cosplay “best” it’s considered pointless for other people to try. “Why would you cosplay Chun-Li when Yaya Han has already cosplayed her perfectly?” is said a lot, and other things like it. We need to stop thinking someone else putting on an outfit bars us from wearing it too. 100 other Roses does not mean the 101st cosplayer is invalid. There is no maximum capacity for cosplays, nor is there some alpha cosplayer who made themselves look the most like a character so they’re the only TRUE version.

I’ve been told I was too fat for my cosplays for over a decade now. Miranda Lawson is supposed to be “perfect”-looking and I was straight-up told to kill myself on 4chan, tumblr and Facebook for dressing up like her. I’m very done with this idea that cosplay is about altering yourself until you look exactly like a character instead of showing your love for them.

The background of these crests in gonna kill me. They book crests I’m using as a base are actually horrible mis-aligned and now I have to fix them all. The Slytherin one is covered in diamonds and they’re whatever god damn size and shape the original illustrator felt like making them.

Do you know of any crystals that promote domestic tranquility/peace within a family?

rose quartz, amethyst, fluorite, blue lace agate, jade, selenite, celestite, citrine (natural is best, if you’re able to obtain it), angelite, amazonite, aventurine, blue calcite, lithium quartz, dumortierite, lepidolite, imperial topaz, and magnesite. my personal favorites for this are selenite, amethyst and rose quartz.

It’s taken one minute for Foggy to steal my heart

A commission for  aeducanprincess  of Merrill and Carver from Dragon Age 2. This piece was a challenge and I’m not 100% happy with it but fairly close to it. I had to redraw this piece twice but am happy with this version. I hope that  aeducanprincess is happy with it!!

Gonna put on some Daredevil and start clicking the shit out of some pixels. Ravenclaw is basically done, and Slytherin is almost there. I’m gonna work on all of them until they feel done, then start with the first one again and clean them up once I’m looking at them a couple days later and can see the flaws a bit easier.
