"I meant no harm in the question, for what it's worth. It's simply the first seethe of that sort that I've come across."
"I'm a little rusty when it comes to dancing I'm afraid,"
"It was merely a suggestion to rip the bandage off... so to speak."
"You do realize that sounds like a pickup line...don't you?"
"Fair point, but not my intention, I assure you. You simply looked familiar. Though I do suppose the masks throw a wrench in that sort of thing."
"Mmm...." He purred, taking the man in with heavy eyes. "Clearly not. You'd have remembered me. Quite fondly too."
Aelin huffed out a half-sort of laugh. "I see. I must be mistaking you for someone else in that case."
"Well...we certainly could have. Or....you've met one of my brothers. There are three of us you know."
"Ah, that might explain it. I could have sworn you'd changed your outfit, but it must have been one of your brothers."
"Well I can't fault you there. I'm often victim to curiosity too. Although victim does make it sound like something bad, which I don't believe it is," she mused in reply, watching the way he was taking her in. "Something that makes you think we may have met before?"
"Neither do I." He found himself transfixed by whatever it was he noticed behind her gaze. "Something familiar, yes... although it's making me dreadfully familiar with you in turn. I apologize."
"I suppose so," she replied, taking the moment to take in the features she could see of the tall man in front of her. "Oh you're fine, I'll take it as a compliment," Tavvy smiled. "But seeing as we're fairly sure we don't know each other maybe we should introduce ourselves to confirm? I'm Tavvy,"
"Please do. I should hate for it to be anything less," he assured before taking her hand and bowing his head to place a gente kiss there. It was the traditionalist in him that won out in moments like this. "Aelin. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Tavvy."
"Why do you ask?"
"What can I say? I'm a victim to curiosity, if you'd put it that way," he explained, still taking her in. "It's something about your eyes."
"No, not that I'm aware of at least,"
"I suppose the masks do make that sort of thing a tad bit more confusing than normal. My apologies... I didn't mean to stare."
"Sorry... have we met before?"
