Aelinscourt FanCast: Chaol Westfall
Disclaimer: I am posting my fancast one character at a time, because some are harder than others, and I usually have multiple contenders for each character. I try to include diversity while still honoring the characters description. Unless otherwise noted, none of them are in any particular order. Images in gifs taken from google images, not owned or created by me. My top choice will be last, unless i donât have one.
Ideal Chaol: I always picture Chaol as being played by a POC, his description makes it sound like he could be. He has to be old enough to look slightly more than a teenager, but look young enough that he doesnât look like he is in his 30s either. We need someone we know can potray a stiff necked character, someone who is motivated to follow rules and set morals, doesnt like to bend or compromise but has a deep undercurrent of emotions and those bubble up when the characters world is thrown in the deep end.

So he is a little on the older side, but tbh i think he could pass off Chaolâs age, which is 22. I think he can fit Chaolâs description, though he is a little tall but height isnât a main concern. In the 100 we see (so far, i am two episodes away from finishing season 2) him struggle with loyalty to people but has unnerving loyalty to one personl specifically. He is tough and unbreaking, but also emotional and protecting. I think he would have the capacity to be able to play Chaol.

Again, kinda on the old side to play Chaol. I think he could pull it off though, even if the show had to make Chaol age a little and be closer to 25. I watched him play Avery in Greyâs (not a fan of the show personally tbh) and i definitely think he would be really well suited to play Chaolâs personality. The character is stubborn, take charge (occasionally, also like Chaol), and can be kinda grumpy sometimes which fits. I think he would do well. Also could fit Chaolâs description for the most part, even though he would need brown contacts which is a crime because his eyes are gorgeous. But seriously look him up, half the time his pictures are him looking brooding, which is totally Chaol.Â

I love Bob Morley and please look up gifs of him! He is a good deal older than Chaol, but i think he is perfectly capable of pulling him off, he looks pretty young. Tbh, most actors and actresses are going to be a lot older than the characters they play. I cannot decide if he is my first choice or the person right after this, both are amazing actors. His character on the 100 has similar qualities to Chaol, and playing a complex character with a lot of flaws and good qualities shows what a good actor he is. I would love to see him as Chaol. I also think he has a good look for him, very fitting to the description.

Again, i canât decide if he is my top choice or Bob Morley, though I obviously like them all. He is very similar to how i picture Chaol with Venezuelan and Spanish background, around his height and age, and is an amazing actor. In Reign he plays a lower French Prince, and in Red Tent an Egyptian lord (kinda). The characters are different which show his skills as an actor. His character in Reign was caught up in things beyond his control, despite him trying to control them. He is kinda quiet, very loyal to a select few, and can let his judgment be clouded. I think he would be amazing at playing Chaol, and fits the bill pretty well.Â
I would be so happy with both Sean Teale and Bob Morley as Chaol Westfall, let me know who you like! Look up their tv shows and gifs!
