in other personal updates i accidentally sort of nuked my entire music library and i won't be able to fix it because the music database that wmp uses was shut down in january. so now wmp can't read any of my korean or japanese files 🤣

and i downloaded musicbee to see if it would be any better but it fucked up my library EVEN WORSE so i uninstalled it after less than 48hrs lmfao

trying to get wmp to re-scan my library and it's missing sooooo many files now like what. why can't you grab all of the tracks for this album, they are all in the folder, you did not have this problem last week whyyyyyy are you doing this to me 😭

i'm glad i have a cd player but oh my god it's just not the same as streaming on my laptop!!!! i need a new laptop....i need to back up my files on an external hard drive....

The KIDS act (which contains KOSA) passed the US house, so I would recommend calling your senators and telling them to vote in opposition. I don't think I need to stress the importance of being able to use the internet freely and without privacy barriers being breached.

There are many scripts online you can follow, many ways to tweak your message to fit your senator (ESPECIALLY if they are up for reelection this year). Whether it's a recording you reach or a real person, be straightforward, don't argue, just let your rep know that you are a constituent and you oppose the KIDS act, etc.

Here is where you can search for your senator... call, email, fax, bring them physical letters, show up in person to their offices if you are able.

she is back to normal and will stay on a modified diet for the time being, which i guess is until i get tired of paying $70 for royal canin wet food lol

update on aoife: she's doing okay but not as okay as i want her to be.

vet emailed me today and it seems most likely that aoife has developed pancreatitis. she got fluids and an anti-emetic on friday, was fine and eating her new diet food with no problem. i replied to the vet that she hadn't thrown up since then (the anti-emetic only lasts 24hrs and it had almost made it to 72hrs). and you won't believe what aoife chose to do next 🤣🤣🤣

it seemed to be just a tiny hairball, so i'm not extremely worried. like no food chunks or anything. if she throws up again i will email the vet once more...she didn't respond to my reply but i'm sure she's busy so i don't mind too much. the hospital closes at 6pm so i can call her before then if something happens and i need a faster response.

and she's been fine since that incident!! it's been a couple hours with no second round of vomiting so i gave her a little bit of food since she was begging for it....we'll see if that was a mistake later this afternoon.

to get a Confirmed diagnosis aoife needs to get her blood checked again in 1-2 weeks and also needs to get abdominal imaging....i don't quite have the money necessary for that type of expense and i am sorely regretting not looking at pet insurance lmfao. but i will pull through!!! somehow!!!!

aoife is probably sick with Something so i am taking her to the vet tomorrow morning. there's an emergency 24hr vet that i can take her to tonight if she takes a turn for the worse but i am Hoping she hangs in there until i can get to the appointment tomorrow.

she's like. i guess lethargic? compared to usual? she's not running around. she's a lot quieter than she usually is when i'm home from work. but she's still walking around and sunning herself and meowing when i talk to her...

she threw up a lot this morning. i fed her kibble at 330am and at 5am. she threw up all her kibble at 945-ish. i gave her soup to rehydrate her and she seemed fine but threw it up at 1130-ish. she's had one greenie and a quarter can of wet food at 115pm, along with some water. all of her dishes & food storage are clean and her kibble is brand new- i opened the bag last night!

she's kept some food down!!! she was fine last evening!!! ate her wet lunch & dinner no problem, no throwing up in the middle of the night or anything...not feeding her again until 6pm to be safe bc i am running out of food to give her and also running out of carpet cleaner 😮‍💨🤧

so the closest animal hospital to me closed at noon, i called them at 1130 and they are seeing her tomorrow morning bc that's the only time slot the vet has available. i can walk there so i don't have to worry about taking aoife onto a bus or anything. was told to take her to an emergency vet if she gets worse but i don't know what lethargy Actually looks like in a cat so i don't know!!!! i don't know!!!!!!!

there's only one 24hr vet in my area and it's a 20min walk (btwn bus stations so i can't take the bus). i'm trying not to freak out too much but i'm just so worried i don't know what could be wrong with her 😭 i monitor her food pretty closely, my floor is clean enough that i don't think she ate something off it and got sick from that (still possible, just not likely)....she hasn't rly pooped or otherwise used the litterbox lately that i can remember, so it might be something internal...i wish my brain didn't have holes in it i wish i could remember when she last used the litterbox 😭 it was probably yesterday morning?? i think?? bc my roommate caught her doing the scratching thing she always does when she uses the box...but i don't remember!!!

anyways i'm bracing myself for an expensive vet bill right before rent is due and when i'm between paychecks 🤣 it's fine i'll pay a lot for her if i have to, especially if it's easily treatable...
