The feral gang! Arkady is such a drama king.

I imagine the ferals are a very mixed bunch of color and style. I had a bunch of fun messing with dragon designs for these three, specifically Wringe's red-tipped wings and Gherni's blue porcelain look. They should probably have more scars. The ferals don't get a lot of art, and that's a shame because i think they are genuinely fun characters.

I've also spent way too long looking at it and am really dissatisfied with how it turned out. Maybe I'll try again in the future. I at least like the poses, if not all the execution. Thanks for reading!

Been thinking a lot about how traits pass between different dragons breeds, and did a quick sketch of Ning and her parents. More musings under the cut!

While I know Temeraire and Ning are described as black, but I always imagine them as off-black. The former is a blue tone, while the latter is a red tone, after her mother. I also gave Ning the same prong horns as her dad, but curling inwards to mimic Iskierka's.

For a quick sketch, this turned out really well! I don't see a lot of art of Ning (she's only in part of one book, after all). Experimenting with iridescence was fun.

Levitas, a Winchester dragon, from the “Temeraire” book series I’m finally reading more of.

Desdemona, the Celestial/Yellow Reaper cross @nighttimepatrons and I came up with. Since her parents would have a different number of digits, I made her wings asymmetrical and her feet have a small, useless finger. For the colouration I just went with the Reaper yellow, but the stripes are mostly black instead of white and the wing are a bit more extra than I'd imagine either Reaper or Celestial wings. Her ruff and tendrils are far smaller/less developed than that of a Celestial, but she's got a Reaper's horns and ridged back.

Desdemona, the Celestial/Yellow Reaper cross @travellingdragon and I have made! She's a bit like Ning only with 100 Charisma and Charm! I really wanted her to look mostly like a yellow reaper so she just gets a little bit of black hahah! I absolutely love that Travelling gave her more fingers on one wing than the other!

I read the Temeraire series recently and my brain is full of dragons. WIP but I’m hoping to finish this when I have time and maybe draw some of the other main dragons too.

WIP Iskierka

I’ve been so blown away by the response to my Temeraire stuff! I’m hoping that I can properly finish and color some of these over the weekend. I’ve started on a Maximus portrait as well. A big thank you to all of you who have reblogged and left comments in the tags or replies! Your kind words mean so much. I love these dragons and it’s so heartening to see that fans of the books are enjoying my interpretations of these characters!

Temeraire from the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik. I really loved this series and I would recommend it highly if you like Wings of Fire but maybe want to read something a bit more mature, and if you like history! It’s about the Napoleonic Wars fought with dragons, and the dragon characters are fully sentient/can speak.
