hi !!! my name is kai, I’m an ‘02 liner from america !!! I use she/they pronouns.

let’s talk about plagiarism.

first of all, i’ll let you know the definition of this word: plagiarism is presenting someone else's work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement.

today, i was saving something on my drafts to post later, and while i was scrolling through my notifications i decided on answer the feedback i get on my posts.

tbh i’m always looking forward seeing more addition kpop blogs. it’s pretty entertaining finding how people like to develop their own characters and stuff. however, the last thing i thought i would find, is someone stealing my work.

at first i thought huh? maybe some of these are coincidences, nothing else. but as i kept reading this persons work, i found myself growing more and more confused and mad. they literally copy-pasted and stole my words, only changing names here and there and even keeping some sentences the same.

here are the proofs:

is this too much coincidence? no. this is literally stealing people’s work. it’s okay to take inspiration from someone, but doing this? this is plagiarism. this is why people stop writing. why would you think stealing is the right way to do something? and even having the audacity of thinking i wasn’t going to found out.

in my free-time I mostly watch shows on netflix or challenge myself to create new dances. it usually depends on how I’m feeling on the day. sometimes baekhyun will make me play pubg with him, but he gets mad when I beat him.

I’m a model and a voice actor ! my most recent character is a girl named lanzhu zhong from love live. voice acting is a lot better for me since I struggle to bring out a character with myself, it’s easier to create different voices rather than use my own to act like someone else on screen. I hope that makes sense !

if I could talk to my past self, I’d tell her not to worry about the future so much. it’s so easy to get lost in the idea of perfection, it starts to weigh you down. perfection doesn’t matter as long as you’re trying your best, and the people that try to tear you down because of one mishap don’t deserve to be heard.

# MALI — 10:06pm

my free-time is mostly spent learning and creating new routines for myself. I always feel terrible if I’m not doing some form of work. even though it’s not very healthy to not take proper breaks, I feel like our company gives us too much time off for me to sit around and do nothing.

I’m a model, mostly. labelv/sm entertainment doesn’t really give us jobs outside of modeling unless we’re one of the more popular members. I have been denied opportunities, but I think it’s mostly because I’ve caused a lot of trouble for our company in the past. I would like to try acting or directing some time, if that’s possible.

I’m not sure what I would tell my past self. maybe I’d tell her to stop being so mean to the members since it’s not their fault she was put into the group. we’re all just trying to make it while our company sabotages us on the sidelines.

there was one time during an award show where I was trying to avoid giving a speech and suho passed the microphone to me. instead of saying something intelligent or heartwarming, I just screeched something about exo-ls and quickly gave the mic back. I like to block that memory out, but I see the clip everywhere.

I actually have given someone a sandwich with my number in it ! well, I had sehun pass it on to someone for me. rose from blackpink was the receiver, but I had originally meant for it to go to jihyo of twice ! I think I hit it off better with rosie though, things happen for a reason kids !

there was a time during an interview on a music show where I was asked to cutely explain bad alive’s concept. it was the worst. never again do I want to hear the words “we’re the bad kids looking for love” in an obnoxiously high pitch.

a couple of people have given me their numbers in sandwiches, but I’ve never texted or called them back. I’m not really interested in meeting someone through a number in a sandwich. if you want to be my friend, come talk to me face-to-face.

a/n . so basically i originally planned on making this funny, but jiseul’s having a time​ so now it is less funny

what would starting over be like ?

exo were four years into their career. they had made great friends, watched trainees under their label come and go … they had even watched members of their own group leave. no one blamed them for leaving, but it hurt.

what if she tried to restart, even if it was only to get a fresh feed on her socials ?

jiseul didn’t want to leave the group. four years would be a lot to delete. and there had been so many habits she’d picked up from the boys. she wouldn’t make it a day anywhere else. would she even have a chance in the industry without the boys backing her ? they were a lot better than her, but all ten of them made exo.

“are you alright ? it’s your turn.”

a familiar voice broke her thoughts. she must have been spacing out. their card game left half finished as she sifted through her questions.

“I’m alright, sorry.” jiseul continued the rest of the game, more or less distracted. she had barely reacted when chanyeol stacked his +2 to make her draw twelve cards. no one thought much of it, thinking she was just getting tired from a long day in the practice room.

while everyone was challenging baekhyun’s cheers of victory, she snuck out of the room down to the small kitchen area. someone had followed her.

“jiseul,” suho startled her. she would have dropped her water glass if she hadn’t been close to the counter. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“it’s fine … I thought you were joining the rematch.”

“I’m more worried about you. it’s not everyday someone draws twelve cards and doesn’t react. what’s on your mind ?”

some days jiseul cursed their leader for paying so much attention to them. they would be able to get away with so much. but also she liked to know she wasn’t invisible. “I think I’m in the mood to delete everything, go missing for a month, get my life together and come back.”

even saying her thoughts didn’t make them have sense. she could tell suho didn’t even understand what she was trying to say.

“you want to go on hiatus ? I don’t think we have anything planned ‘til summer so you should be able to without trouble.”

“something like that. I just need time to sort myself out, maybe to help me stop feeling like I’m pulling the group down.”

she had been feeling like this for a while. she had seen the tweets saying exo would be more popular if they didn’t have a girl in the group. they would be better off without the girl ruining their songs. so what if she let them have a comeback without her ? would everyone be happier with their performance ? maybe suho was right to be worried.

“I don’t know where that idea came from, but you’re not pulling us down. we all bring out own specialties to the group.” he moved to the other side of the island’s counter. “if you need time, we can speak with the managers in the morning, but I don’t want you to sit out this comeback since you’ve been looking forward to it since you saw the choreography demo.”

jiseul placed her glass gently on the counter and grabbed his hand. he had always been so nice to the group. what if he had the similar feelings she did, but couldn’t talk to anyone because he had to take care of them ?

“thank you … I’ll think about it.”
