It’s Happening Again…
Manifesting some Wittebros content in Thanks to Them with old art 🕯
After Ever the Hunted, I finally got my hands on Chain of Iron, by Cassandra Clare
It's like the 60 millionth book in the Shadowhunter chronicles and the second book in The Last Hours series. If you or a loved one has been subjected to this series, you are entitled to financial compensation.
And if you haven't, but you want to get into it, lemme know and I'll tell you the best way to read it.
★★★☆☆
I read all 650 pages in less than 24 hours. I got angry for the right reasons and not just because I was annoyed at all of the cliffhangers. There are so many characters that I personally would love to yell at or at least force into a locked room together. I am still not one for romance, but platonic relationships really do hit hard.
I read Ever the Hunted in about two days, following COG, by Erin Summerill
★★☆☆☆
It was bland, it was tropey, there was more of a focus on romance than I thought there would be. I was annoyed. I will not be continuing the series. I haven't heard of a lot of people who have read this book, though, so if you have, feel free to message me. I'm curious about other people's thoughts
I read Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare in approximately 36 hours, right after I finished Tower of Nero. Needless to say, I'm no longer in a reading slump
★★★★☆
I had so many thoughts about this book that my poor friends have the entire plot and characters memorized just because I ranted about it so much. It's a good book, but the plot devices angered me, I still don't care for romance, and I immediately needed to read Chain of Iron
This book also took away any malicious feelings I had for The Red Scrolls of Magic. I literally cannot think about anything other than Matthew. Please send help
After I finished the red scrolls of magic, I said Rick Riordan books always get me out of reading slumps. Let's read The Tower of Nero, the fifth and final book in the Trials of Apollo series and anything canonically related to pjo
★★★★☆
While I think that the first trials of apollo book was the best, I think this one easily is second best. Maybe it's because I loved seeing old character, or maybe it's because now I know that black CHB shirts are canon and I can get one, but nevertheless it was good!
I know that that is quite the unpopular opinion on tumblr, but just because I enjoyed this book does not mean I am blind to the mistreatment of Rick's minority characters and how he writes them and others.
Last summer, I started The Red Scrolls of Magic, by Cassandra Clare. I finished it nine days ago. Needless to say, I've been in a reading block.
★★☆☆☆
Sometimes I'm like "why do I still read these books" and this book really did make me rethink it. It wasn't my favorite. It was okay. I can't say much without spoiling about 1.47 million other books, but if you've also read it, my inbox is always open for chats

I cut up a paper bag because I wanted non-white paper. It was originally a take-out bag
I reread The House of Hades by Rick Riordan Fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series

I am at the mercy of my library, so I can’t reread hoo in order unless I want to wait, which I can’t do. This one is actually my favorite in the series, and now I’m emotional again

Last summer I discovered that I really like listening to audio books when I do art, and I only listen to books I’ve already read because if I miss something, I still know what’s happening. PJO will forever hold a place in my heart. It’s been so long since I read this book. If anyone wants to talk about it, my inbox and messages are open.
tbt when this was an art and reading blog but I honestly haven’t posted real art in years because I panic every time I make art and now I’m barely reading bc my mental health when down the drain and through the sewers
Aromantic science fiction and fantasy! I’ve been working on this one on-and-off for over a month, so I’m glad I can finally share it with all of you.
If you’re looking for more aromantic fiction, I suggest checking out Claudie Arseneault’s database for aro and ace fiction.
The book length works are all either in the Queer SFF Database or due to be added over the next few months. Note, the results page only shows ten at a time, so you need to scroll to the bottom and click “previous” to see more.
My other queer SFF book posts can be found through my master list.
I also previously wrote this post on aromantic fantasy stories.
Below the cut you can find the titles and authors from the slides above. Links go either to the database, Goodreads, or the story itself (for the free short stories). Enjoy!

I’m seeing a lot of the same books on my dash, so I spent a few hours researching some lesser-known books. These books fall across a variety of genres and age group.
