“oh, don’t you worry  — i’ve got a few ideas. oh the kids didn’t tell you? we had christmas tree’s in EVERY room. so i thought, why not just get one HUGE one? oh okay. you don’t want to participate?”

“ i haven’t had much times to be fair, i’m sure they’re all just dying to tell me about your christmas shenanigans. i’ve been quite busy seeing after them, and getting caught up on files. i don’t know honestly, i’ve never been one for Christmas. ”

“ sorry, accustomed to sarcastic commentary. you definitely are one of the few people who can pull it off. better ? ”

“do ya like my braids? the kiddo’s in the pediatric wing decided they’d give me a MAKEOVER. tell me i’m beautiful.”

“ i’ve never been accustomed to lying but, you’re beautiful.”

elena turned her attention down to her fingers, playing with the little bit of nail she had left. “i know, but i wasn’t really watching anything.” she shrugged, looking back over at the tv and then to the doctor in front of her. “i just didn’t really want to be in my room so i came out here.”

 " well, if you’re watching something you shouldn’t change it. ” he scoffed, entering the room entirely and sitting next to the brunette. “ makes sense, being stuck in a room all day can really make you feel like a prisoner. ”

“did you really ? i’m so excited ! i always try to outdo myself from the previous year, and a huge tree just seemed perfect. no worries though, you can help by joining us at the ornament event. you’ll be there right ?”

“ it looks great ! honestly, i have no idea how you’re going to beat this next year. what did you do last year that you had to go so big ? i’m not too sure if i’ll be there honestly. i can help supervise or something. ”

“and why not?” she asked, her tone of voice going up a notch in annoyance. “well, good, hand it over then.” she dropped the bobby pin she was fiddling with and opened her hand up for him to give her these magical keys he was going on about. “i don’t really care, like you said, it’s my room. i can break into it, especially since it’s not my fault i can’t get in.”

“ regardless, of whether it is your room or not. you can not destroy and or vandalize property. ” aeson declared, rolling his eyes as both of his arms crossed firmly over his chest. “ next time you’re locked out, you need to come find a member of staff, and we’ll let you in. now, you’ll have to come with me, so i can confirm this is in-fact your room. ”

“well it’s the craziest thing i’ve just about ever heard! hm, you’re right. i’ll show them that christmas deserves a second chance. we’ve gotta make this year so good that they’ll never hate christmas again.”

“ it’s honestly not that crazy. i know for a fact that no one in my family has ever been too into christmas, can’t tell you why. i know they just put up some HUGE tree, and they want to make ornaments so you could get involved in that. ”

“really? you mean, this isn’t the worse pain i could be feeling? because right now i’d like to just chop my hand off and not have to feel it at all….or look at it. i look like frankenstein.” 

“ oh yeah, it could have been FAR worse. why don’t you wait a couple days, come back and we redo them, it’ll be like going through the depths of hell. you do not! regardless, frakenstein was a beautiful creation. ”

“have you seen dr.nels? she’s not in her office and m’pretty sure i’ve looked every where in the main building at least eight times. i refuse to walk this whole ranch, so i’m just going to ask everyone i see until someone finds her.”

“ i can’t say i have, i saw her walking out of her office not too long ago so she could just be out grabbing lunch of something. if you’d like you’re more than welcome to wait in mine, i’ll see if i can give her a call or something. is everything alright ? ”

“i got eight stitches today and they’re disgusting looking. like, i’m pretty sure they had to sedate me with something just to get through the process. it was awful.”

“ it’s called general anesthesia, and we did have to use some. otherwise the pain, it would have been far less bearable then what you feel now. though, i do promise that they won’t look as bad in a couple days. ”

“y’know what ? I overheard some kids talking about how they HATE christmas. how can anyone HATE christmas ? it’s INSANE. christmas time is the most wonderful time of the year !”

“ it honestly isn’t that crazy. many people link christmas, or other family events back to a bad memory. it’s easy to form a bond with the two that link them closely. but, maybe you could do something for those kids to make them realize their LOVE for it. ”

└ ♡ °·:. dr aeson zared is thirty-one years old and has been a pediatrics doctor at the safe house for 3 weeks. they are known to be urbane and authentic but also callous and cantankerous. around the house, they’re known to be the matthew daddario look-a-like.

born into the zared family, aeson was always held to high expectations to take over his families business, it wasn’t ever even a thought that occurred to him that he might one day be a doctor. 

that was up until the point he was in high school, and his brother ran away. only to be found 2 months later, dead in the middle of a near-by forest. 

with the traumatic experience that affected aesons life he took a complete 180, and ended up on a new path to become a doctor. 

though his parents didn’t entirely support the idea of aeson throwing away a sure-fire job, he wasn’t one to listen to them much of the time.

throughout university, and medical college he was always the outcast, the guy you’d see alone at a party, kind of doing his own thing. and he’d always been okay with that, rather preferring it.

he’s as pure as can be, he chose to work with children because it makes him feel connected to the time he still knew his brother, and yeah all he cares about is helping people

he’s really someone who has a bunch of burdens and woes on his head but really he isn’t one to talk. 

im also far too lazy to write a full bio rn so expect that in the inevitable future.

“god DAMMIT.” the fiery red head spat as she tried her hardest to pick the lock that was in front of her. “hey you.” she nodded at the person she could make out in her peripheral…”give me a hand? my roommate likes to be a BITCH and lock me out at least once a week.”  she huffed. 

“ i don’t think i can help you break in, ” aeson confessed, head shaking from one side to the next. “ on the other hand, i’m pretty sure we have a master set to let you in. ” he scoffed, leaning next to the girl. “ oh, it also might not be a smart idea to break into a room, even if it is yours, when member of staff are watching. ”

“well, we FINALLY got the eight foot tree up in the lobby ! did ya see it yet ? it’s gorgeous, and we’re all going to have activity night and make some ornaments for it !”

“ yeah !! i just saw it actually coming in. it’s actually quite impressive you were able get that up there. sorry i couldn’t be much help, christmas really isn’t my forte. ”

elena sat in front of the tv, not really paying attention to what was playing in front of her. she’d been at the house for two months now, and she wanted to go home. she didn’t want to be around so many new people. hearing someone approaching, she felt her chest tightening. taking a deep breath, she looked over them, trying her best to smile. “did you want to watch something? you-you can change it.”

it was — without a doubt a steep learning curve. aeson wasn’t used to this at all, being captivated. though, unlike many of the people stuck within the corridors of the facility he chose to be here. it was easy to get lost, one wrong turn and, well he ended up in the tv lounge. his gaze fell to the single entity, sitting on the couch. “no don’t worry, i sort of got lost. why would you offer to change what you were watchin’ though? you were here first.” he asked, slightly dazed by the others initial reaction.
