They overcame many difficulties together and thanks to that they became very close even when Serbia was under Turkeyâs control with whom Russia had 12 wars. The last one (1877-1878) brought freedom to MiliÄa. After that she started admiring Ivan and calling him Jovan (serbian version of âIvanâ). In return he gave her short name âMillaâ which is similar to Russian word âcuteâ. Though time played with both of them evil jokes (there were situations when their bosses didnât get on well) MiliÄa and Ivan managed to save their friendship and love they shared. And even now these named brother and sister help and support each other. P.S.
