Someone once said that absence makes the heart grow fonder. How very right they were. Tobias Garner, witch. For 500 years, I was the husband of my great love and now I finally got her back.

Just because someone doesn't show he is pain, that doesn't mean he isn't. For 500 years, Tobias has hurt and suffered because of his lost love. He was never able to move on, not that he tried. He was positive that Ivory would one day return to him, and now that she has, he isn't sure he can let go of her again. Five hundred years ago, he was just a child, who wanted the best for his wife, even if his best isn't his own. But at times when he stays awake, Tobias always finds himself wondering, if time comes again, would he be able to let go of his wife? But he knows the answer to that is no, because his greatest fear is losing Ivory again.

"Like I said, please step further away. I will use a strong spell to stop them and I wouldn't want to catch you in it."

"Well it is a Charity Auction. It would be silly to be anything but. I’m Malia Frost. You are?"

"Tobias Garner. Pleasure to meet you Malia."

"What?! How many damn hunters are there in this town?"

"There isn't an exact answer to that, but my advice is that next time you cross paths with a human, any human, you should take in consideration the possibility they are hunters."

"When I was younger my parents were murdered. I was taken and made a slave to witches. I hate them. That hatred made me want them all dead. I know you probably are one and I could never kill you. And that in itself is scary enough. What about me? People call me a witch all the time and if I am and I don’t kill myself…my friends will. And it’s probably better that way. I can’t be this. I can’t—"

"Alright, alright, calm down. Try to calm down and take a deep breath." Of course he already knew she was a witch, but Tobias also knew she was a lost one, but the little bracelet on her hand would have given it away to anyone. He took some steps closer to Diana, before takig her hands in his own. "Close your eyes. You said you trust me right? Then let me help you."

She watched the scene unfolding before her in shock. With a hesitant voice she spoke. “I thought something more along the lines of running, but that’s an alternative too. These are the first creditors I’ve met that are this persistent.”

"Heather Fields, Lucas Langstone and Joseph Miller. Three of the many witch hunters in this town."

No. I just can’t usually trust people. I don’t know what makes you different but I felt like I could.

"I'm happy to hear that, but if you ever need my help or guidance, I'll be here."

"You go and hide and try to stay away. I'll use my magic to block them."

Closing her eyes, Jas took two deep breaths and focused, just as Tobias had showed her. At the exact moment her mind cleared, her blue eyes flashed open and every candle in the previously dim room caught alight. Suddenly the witches were surrounded by a ring of flame.
