Why does the Eevee line have two embers that AREN'T poison type yet possess poison-ish abilities

Like Vaporeon can be hatched with acid armor and uhm Umbreon can produce poison from its rings.. that makes me wonder what else the eevee line is hiding from us

"Acid armor is just a move Vaporeon is able to learn for defense purposes. There's a lot of pokemon that learn moves that don't match their type, so researchers aren't too concerned about that.

We still aren't exactly sure why Umbreon is like that. The biggest theory right now is that it used to be a poison type but over time they dropped the typing due to a lack of use for it. Still, they retain some of the typing's traits, like the small amount of poison that can come from its paws."

OK! I have an answer for this, me thinks!

First off, Eevee's genetic data is unstable, this is well known, BUT what makes this subject interesting is that only SOME Umbreon have the gene for venom secretion! At Aether we've noticed that Sinnohan, Kantonian, and some Jotohian Umbreon have the gene active. There is another set of genes that actively suppresses the secretion, however and it just so happens to be the dominant, albeit more rare gene. When it comes to breeding, however, people have found the lack of venom more suitable and safe for their needs, so much so that it's bled in to the wild population of eevee and is actively suppressing said venom secretion gene. I dont know the exact odds of the gene being present in any given populace, sadly, but we've had the secretion gene pop up here in Alola recently, so I assume SOMEONE released an Umbreon, or their Eevee just got out and did what an Eevee does. I hope this answers some stuff for you!

I love ghost types, but is being aroung them dangerous? I know quite a few drain life force from people. I'm just around a lot of ghost types as I live in a very haunted mansion. Have for quite a while, longer than I can remember actually...

"Well, I have been around ghost types for a lot of my life, and I have not seen any long-lasting health effects. But, I think that might just be where I'm from. Northern Sinnoh doesn't have any ghost types that will harm you just by proximity...

Some can, though. I found out about Greavard a recently, and apparently, they can make you sick just by being around them. There's also Litwick, who can drain your life force. In general? Not many will. If your house is haunted with ghost types, you shouldn't see any health problems. If you do, it is most likely not caused by them (unless it is a Greavard or Litwick)."

Like they said, it depends on the pokemon! I'd also keep an eye out for Gengar, Haunter, Gourgeist (they get grumpy easily), Driftblim, Dusknoir, Dusclops, and Mimikyu (if you arent careful of it's boundaries) but other than that, you SHOULD be chilling! If you see a Ceruledge, fucking run. Leave. Get out.

How far can poipole shoot venom from its needle, and is it accurate?

And why poipole poison is so sticky? Does this stickiness have any benefit to it?

The farthest I have measured is 50 feet, though it could be more. It's relatively accurate at this distance.

...I am actually not sure what specific purpose its stickiness has. Does it build nests? Does it trap its predators or prey?

OHOHO I GOTCHU!

Ok, poipole can actually shoot their venom closer to 45-80 feet depending on the size of the pokemon. It's also pretty accurate, we used a cola can for ref. It DOES build nests, HUGE ones at that, and as for natural preadators, they dont really have any. If anything other poipole colonies are a bigger threat than anything else out there. They use it to mark their territory, so it HAS to stick to surfaces, and can ALSO be used to hold prey (in most cases, we've found poipole to be vegetarian minus things like honey) or berries that they've found! Fun fact, they ALSO use their venom to mark trees with food pheramones or the specific shade for food! It's REALLY fascinating how poipole society functions and how similar it is to combee or vespiqueen! Poipole are pretty playful, have GREAT memory, and are easily trainable due to their nature as workers!

Been seeing some pictures of pokemon with Hisuian forms, Where do people find those? Are they still in the wild?

People inhumanely breed them, then releaze them because they realize the care is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from their non hisuian counterparts. There are SOME conservationalist organizations (like ours) that offer visits from our ambassador pokemon, and they happen to be hisuian. Keep in mind, if you find a wild hisuian form it's gonna be aggressive as hell because it has most DEFFINITELY been abused. Again, SOME conservationalists manage and keep hisuian pokemon with minimal human interaction, kinda like the safari zone. If you want a hisuian mon, just go to the conservationalists. Avoid breeding companies. Please.

i put the absolite z on arae (like on her body) and it fucking disappeared into her floof. um. should i try to get it back. she's currently playing with cheesegrater so i don't know if i should...

i need to find someone to imbed the absolite into something for her to wear but i don't know what to give her?? i don't want a hefty necklace thing cz arae is part of my SAR team (though i haven't been on duty in a while) but I'll lose it during work if its too small and fragile...

Get her either a collar or some kind of vest/harness that you can use for additional transport of first aid items

Collars and stuff aren't super uncommon for attaching Z crystals to (I have one for Kiki and one for Ollie although neither are used anymore) and I remember seeing a trainer who had a service Fidough and the little vest they wore had a Fairium Z attached to it

(//ooc I genuinely can't remember if Rosie has stated that she has Z Ring or not so ignore it if she said she didn't, she does now)

not a big fan of collars because arae gets stuck literally everywhere enough, adding a collar into the mix would just add a choking hazard... break away collars would make me lose the absolite...

the vest is a good idea, but i really don't wanna use work vests for casual battles (she can deal with pokémon up route 9 on her own so mega evo is for fun). she might associate battling with work, not to mention it's a hazard letting people think they can ask to battle working pokémon.

uzy told me there's just the option of me taking it on and off before work but i know damn well im gonna end up losing the absolite to the locked backrooms of my storage bins. eury says she has an idea though so im waiting up on her calculations for whatever she's thinking will work.

I wish all people who harass other trainers about "oh your (friendship-based evolution) hasn't evolved yet? You must be an awful person" a very DIE

Just such a stupid claim for many reasons.

1. Some individual pokemon have hormonal issues that can inhibit evolution for both prolonged periods or even forever

2. Some pokemon aren't battlers and have no reason to evolve

3. Some evolutions can be very stressful and disorienting for a pokemon (especially mons like crobat that have their limb and/or sensory functionalities change) and it could just not be a good time to have that evolution happen

And fourth, Sometimes pokemon just don't want to evolve! Very simple!

5. the trainer doesn’t have the sufficient resources to take care of the evolved ‘mon, but does have the resources to care for the unevolved one

6. a lot of environmental factors come into play. even if you have the best bond in the world there can be forces outside your control that make it too stressful to evolve

7. It's none of your FUCKING BUSINESS! Is it pokemon abuse? NO! Should you care? NO! Let my kids live how theyre gonna live before I put you in the jellyfish room. Bitsy is NOT afraid to pick your bones clean after the jellies are done.

8. You can still be a terrible trainer even if you successfully evolve a "friendship-based" pokémon. There aren't many ghost, dark, or poison types who evolve like this, but I get almost half a dozen Umbreons in a year who were recently abandoned after their trainers spent a lot of "bonding time" with their eevees over a short period because they really, really wanted an Umbreon and then abandoned them. Either because they didn't live up to their expectations in some way, or because they found caring for them too difficult, or something else along those lines.

So...for Pokemon with "clothes", how exactly did they develop it?? Can they take it off?? Is it part of the anatomy?? Were they just born with it?? Mostly asking because how are pokemon like sawk and throh clothed 😭😭😭

idk what or who sawk and throh are but no pokémon are not born with their clothes, usually their mothers are the ones to give them the clothes—for example: machoke. their belts are clothes given to them by humans and caretakers.

they can take it off.

how they developed it is in your history class, pay attention to your teacher next time.

of course, pokémon like mimikyu are extremely hard to study for this because their true form sends anyone into straight cardiac arrest—rest in peace professor burrow, your studies would've changed the world if you hadn't looked under your mimikyu's disguise—but from what i have seen, mimikyus are born without their disguise, walk around giving pokémon and trainers near death experiences, before taking to whatever plushie it can find to try and earn the love of a trainer.

usually, these are abandoned pikachu plushies that were lost by kids or—if you live in fuck-you-pollute-the-region galar—plushies that ended up in the local landfill.

some people (me) do make personalized versions of these clothes pokémon wear, but if your pokémon doesn't want it, don't force it on them. kyuei loves the disguise i made her. its kinda chopped but whatever makes a girl happy.
