Hello people all around the world and beyond. This Rotomblr-Blog is dedicated to communicate the lab and work life of scientists at the Alola-based Aether Foundation.

We are two scientists at the Department for Ultradimensional Materials and Analytics (DUMA) of the non-profit, non-governmental organisation Aether Foundation. The department was formed after the restructuring following the Ultra Wormhole incidents.

The operators of this blog:

Herz - I am the Rotom-MS specialist of the DUMA. I will be writing most of the reports to our research activity. I was born in Sinnoh and after graduation, Aether Foundation found my work on the composition of Distortion World soil and offered me a job in their research group. Momentarily, the ownly partner pokémon I have is the Rotom that operates the Rotom-MS. Please refer to me by any pronouns you like. My name is pronounced like the unit for frequency.

Shari - Shari (she/her) here. Born in Seafolk Village on Poni Island, Alola. Me and my partner pokémon and colleague Elgyem are responsible for the NMR-spectroscope right here on Aether Paradise. Someday, I want to make my own field trips into Ultra Space. Hopefully, I get admitted soon...

We hope that our blog will give our readers, scientists or not, a good inside into our work. We want to share it with everyone, so we all can learn something new about this awesome world, universe and multiverse we live in.

We would be excited to hear from other research facilities, colleagues and people that are just as curious as we are.

We will try to post a blog entry every other week. Asks and reblogs will be answered more frequently.

Hello curious people of Rotomblr,

I apologize for not having posted the Substance Report yet. It has been a lot of work lately as many of our colleagues are on their summer holidays. Additionally, the editing of the report for social media is a bit complicated as it is a very old one from before the Ultrahole Incident.

Nonetheless, I wanted to tell you some news regarding the Foundation. Today the URS is visiting the HQ of Aether Foundation. I think Zossie and Soliera are the two representatives of the URS but I didn't speak to them today. So I don't really know.

But that means, management really is trying to establish a collaboration with the URS. I am curious if it is for this new "Department for Extradimensional Correspondance" idea that one of the branch chiefs proposed the other day.

I keep you updated.

Holy Arceus, I can't believe the URS is really here. Soliera and Zossie! They are so cool. I will talk to them right after work! They should be staying on Aether Paradise for this night. At least Elgyem just told me. It "overheart a conversation" between two members of HR. I'm as excited as a Pikipek that pecked into a Charjabug hive. Electrified!

I have to say something now!

Many things changed after the Ultrahole incidents at Aether Foundation. Mostly for the better.

But one thing our design team is still not willing to change.

Every time I leave the main building on Aether Paradise I am hit by a Flash Cannon of light. Why is everything so extremely white and bright, for the sake of the Tapus?!

Please, it is not that hard to get some colour variation.

Just because our logo is gold and white we are not obligated to build everything in those to shades.

(Excuse my little rant, but I nearly blinded myself a few minutes ago while going to the ferry because I hadn't put my sunglasses back on.)

You as field op do not even get sunglasses. How do you manage to see something at noon?

We should probably talk to management about it. So that you at least get sunglasses or any other form of sunprotection in your standard gear. And your pokémon as well. Poor rattatas.

Does your Aether Foundation have a department or someone responsible for interdimensional correspondence?

Our management is toying with the idea of setting up an official department for communication with visitors and relations to facilities from other dimensions maybe even in cooperation with the URS.

I wanted to ask for your view as I really appreciate the work you do in your universe.

Not at the moment as our goals are focused on our dimension, unlike others we also have minimal contact with the URS so we can't provide much advise I'm sorry.

Hello curious people of Rotomblr,

today, I wanted to tell you something about my daily work at the DUMA. In a few days I would like to show you all a substance report, a short abstract of the analytical data that we gathered of a sample we get from our field team.

But first... on a typical day at work I get samples from all over Aether Paradise and even from other regional branches of A. F. when the work load there is too high. We just have more capacities here at the headquarters.

And I cannot blame them. My Rotom-MS is the best device I've ever had the chance to work with. Yes, of course these old mass spectrometers are working too. But the new generation with Rotom-integration is incredible. The possibilities feel like they are endless.

Some pros:

higher resolution

shorter run time needed

allows integrating high end and experimental hard ware (such as new ion sources and analyzers)

lower power consumption

Our operating Rotom Jerry came to us when A. F. bought the new MS a few years ago. It had to undergo years of training for merging with and operating such an analytical device. It is highly skilled and an amazing partner. I hope the Poffins i odered from back home will arrive soon. I'm certain Jerry will like them.

I know there are some attempts for Rotom-application on NMR-spectroscopes. But Shari and Elgyem wouldn't allow this new-fangled technology when their results are still much better even without Rotom-tech.

But i digress. So half of the time I analyze samples for other groups that most often are not extra- or ultradimensional. The other half I'm working on the substance samples of our group and our field team.

After the substance report, I think I'm going to explain to you how sample reception from the field team goes off. If you all are interested in that.

My lunchbreak is over, so I better get to work again.
