No one warned me about the power trip you get after turning a heel.
Finishing a lace chart does the same thing.
Kitchener without instructions does this for me as well
We seem to be getting closer and closer to a situation where nobody is responsible for what they did but we are all responsible for what somebody else did.

Me. So me.
It’s okay to need a break. It’s okay not to be the busiest one. You don’t have to overwork yourself to have worth. You are enough no matter what you have accomplished today.

Here I go . . .
Maybe I'm simple in the head. Perhaps I'm ignorant. Under a rock. All of these are possible I suppose.
I don't understand why "white" knitters suddenly feel the need to 'give up power'. Genuinely, I'm confused. I'm white (23 and me said so, I was adopted as a child and told I was biracial, but evidently my DNA disagreed), and I knit. I craft, I should say, because I do more than just knit. Digression, sorry.
I happened upon the Kristen Templer post about going to India (aside, cool, India would be great to see I think), and this . . reaction of the crafting community that I never saw coming. Let me say that I didn't know who she was before yesterday. I saw a post on someone I follow's Instagram, and read the original. I don't have a Fringe Field bag, and have never had an interest in them. I don't think a plain canvas bag with a small leather loop should garner such a price, but that's my opinion and belief.
The crafting community that I have been a (rather quiet) part of, poured vitriol on the post, and several names were used, racism called as well as elitist, and I sat there baffled by that reaction. As I said, I don't know this woman, so I don't know what she's done and said in the past. But what really shocked me, was that polarized reaction by people in the crafting community. Perhaps I have been sheltered in my crafting, I've never really thought about racism in crafting. I mean, in my mind, Crafters have always been a bit of a brother/sisterhood, like a fandom, we understand the things that other Crafters understand....yarn/fiber/fabric diets, patterns we love/hate, holiday craft madness and the like. I've never looked at a prospective pattern and picked it based on... what race is the designer? I'm more of a mind of...is it in English (since I speak English primarily)? What yarn have others used to make it? What do other Crafters say was easy, or fiddly, etc. The race of the designer, or anyone else crafting or creating really doesn't factor in my head.
So I don't understand the "racism" of crafting. I'm lost on what power I'm supposed to be giving up (I mean I have someone who monitors my crafting projects so I don't overwhelm and stress myself out needlessly), because I gave up on the 'control' of my crafting habit ages ago (yes, I need more yarn. So I don't shove my boss into the traffic. See? Control, also, sarcasm. Crafting keeps me sane, quite literally)...
When are we, as Garth Brooks put it, one race and that's mankind? I mean, I'm over here wondering what kinds of things that people in India knit. What fiber do they use? Cotton? Linen? I can't imagine using wool, but I can be wrong. Maybe I'm ignorant, or just raceblind?
Body is done, and I'm not sure if I like the length. Might have to go longer. For now, started one of the sleeves
It's upside down but I don't care. About 1.5 inches from the ribbing! Can't wait!!
Best Kitchener I've done. Getting the hang of it. Now to the cuff!
