Evander wakes up every day with a very difficult decision at the forefront of his mind: ”How bored do I want to be?” He’s always waffling between trying to luxuriate in idleness and trying to combat a sense of nearly existential boredom with dangerous adventures and risky schemes. Luckily, hedonism can pull double duty and keep both impulses at bay.
Nameday: 12th Sun of the 5th Umbral Moon
Alignment: Chaotic Good, though he’s not convinced of the “Good” part.
Marital Status: “Why, are you asking? You could at least buy me a drink first!”
Build: Evander has a swimmer’s physique: Long, lean, broad-shouldered and tapering to a narrow waist. Given his lifestyle, he might have trouble maintaining that as he gets older, but for now he’s gifted with a metabolism that lets him get away with precious little intentional maintenance.
Common Accessories: An old, battered flask full of something fancy; a silver coin, etched with the symbol of Oschon on one side, Nymeia on the other; that stupid hat; a domino mask; a pendant in the shape of a swan; a decoy coin pouch full of rocks; more money than sense
Profession: Evander used to be pretty upfront about not having a job, until he noticed how many questions and hassles that invited. If pressed about it, he’ll say he’s something like a procurer or a finder, that he makes a living locating things for people that are hard to come by or difficult to find. He’ll never refer to himself as an adventurer, but if someone else calls him one, he won’t usually argue.
Hobbies: First and foremost, Evander likes to indulge. He wants rich food and richer drink, and typically, more of it than he can safely handle. Beyond that, he often finds himself wasting as much time as possible, until the boredom finally overwhelms him and he has to throw himself into some harebrained scheme. Though he doesn’t advertise it, he’s an avid reader, an occasional tinker and if you catch him in the right mood, far too willing to engage in stupid wagers for even stupider stakes.
Languages: He only seems to be fluent in Eorzean common, but he loves picking up bits and pieces of other languages wherever he can.
Residence: He has an apartment in the Goblet, but it’s under constant renovations. He’s half-considering moving back to Limsa Lominsa, but every time he seriously considers it, something tells him not to.
Birthplace: Limsa Lominsa
Patron Deity: If you ask him, he’ll tell you Oschon. If you get enough drinks in him, he’ll tell you that he’s always personally felt a stronger connection to Nymeia, but feels like it’s his duty to venerate Oschon. Asking him further just makes him drink further.
Spouse: “Wow, you’re really focused on this, aren’t you?”
Parents: “Never knew ‘em.”
Siblings: “I was raised by my brother. Shame he’s not here, you’d have liked him.”
Other Relatives: None that he knows of.
Pets: Evander takes care of Doctor One. It’s not quite clear whether he’s a therapy sheep, or a therapist sheep, but he’s well cared for regardless.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION –––
Smoking Habit: He doesn’t smoke if left to his own devices, but if you put something in front of him, yeah, he’ll probably smoke it.
Drugs: Yes.Maybe not everything, and maybe not all the time, but yes.
Alcohol: Drinking plays a prominent role in Evander’s life, for better or worse.
Miserable Youth: When he was growing up in Limsa Lominsa, Evander was part of a gang of orphans. Were you a criminal? A fellow orphan? Just someone who spent a lot of time in the bad parts of town? You might recognize him.
Easy Mark: Whether it's his easy demeanor or something about his appearance, people often expect Evander to be a gullible rube. While it can be frustrating, he's found it occasionally useful to be underestimated. Feel free to try and rope him into your cons and schemes!
Old Habits Die Hard: Evander wants to be a good person, he really does... But that's hard when you're this bored. It won't take much to pull him back to his old life: just the promise of something exciting and the suggestion that the only victims are probably deserving.
I don’t have a drinking problem except when I can’t get a drink: Need a drinking buddy? So does he.
Yeah, Okay: Evander tends to be very agreeable. Catch him in the right mood. and he’ll roll with almost anything, It’s not that he can’t say “no,” so much as it’s just that “yes” is often the more interesting reply.
People Person: At the end of the day, Evander just likes people. He likes meeting people. He likes getting to know people. He likes liking people. Hell, he even likes not liking people. So feel free to pull up a chair and have a chat.
If you see me in game, absolutely feel free to walk up and say hi, or just shoot me a tell. I’m almost always happy to RP, and even if you catch me when I’m not, I like to think of myself as a pretty friendly person. Come say hi!
Outside of game, feel free to reach out to me here on tumblr! Admittedly, I don’t really know what I’m doing here yet, so please be patient if I don’t get back to you immediately or if I screw something up.
I have discord and I like to use it both to RP and just to chat, but I’d probably like to get to know you before I give it out, and I’d definitely like our characters to have a chance to meet in game before we RP there.
Finally, I don’t have the most convenient schedule. I’m US-based, central time zone (yaaay midwestern life), but I work the night shift. So you’ll often find me online at weird times. I’ll be on through the night if I have the night off, and I’m usually on early in the mornings, right after I get off work. Sometimes you’ll find me on in the evenings, before work, but that’s pretty iffy, to be honest. But any time you see me, feel free to say hi!
