" Okay , so I don’t know if everybody has forgotten about me or has started hating me because I disappeared, but hi, I’m back ? When was my last post, September 2016 ? I’m so sorry I’ve been gone . "
“ Sorry guys , I don’t know if anyone still wants me on their dash (I still have followers , but did you guys just forget to clean out your follow list? haha) but hey , I’m bringing Sakura back ! Albeit , still on a bit of a semi-hiatus . I’ll try to come online as often as possible , but national exams are coming up and they’re giving me the jitters . ”
“ Like / reblog this post to plot ! Or you could always message me . ”
“ And again , I’m so sorry for being away . ”
ACTIVITY NOTICE
“ Okaaaayyyy, so I know I haven’t been active in the last ... weeks (?) but school ( and mystic messenger . ugh i’m in hell i swear ) has been kicking my butt for the whole time and I have exams until 13 October . I’ll try to get replies drafted and done then but I really can’t promise anything . My grades are dropping and I really have to focus on my studies . ”
“ Sorry for everyone that I owe replies to ( especially @thegrayhairedprince, your reply is the one I’ve owed the longest. Ugh I’M REALLY SORRY ) ”
She thinks he’d be good at chess. His little sister is asking if he’s beaten Prince Leo, who’s been playing chess most of his life while Takumi only recently started playing within the past four months. Does Sakura really think that highly of him? Or is she just trying to say what she thinks might cheer him up?
“No… I’ve not… not beaten Prince Leo. He’s too good and chess is too complicated. I would much rather play shogi than chess… and am planning on returning the chess board that I was given.” He’d rather stick to what he’s good at for now. Not even bother with chess, likely ever again. The constant losing just makes the Hoshidan prince angry with himself.
Oh...
Maybe it was better if Sakura hadn’t said anything.
“O-oh. Well, I-I’m sure you’ll get better, you just have to k-keep trying! M-maybe you can teach Prince L-Leo to play shogi too! I’m sure i-it’ll be fun to teach him, right?”
She’s never been taught by Takumi before, except the few times she had to learn how to wield a yumi during the war. She wants to ask him to continue teaching her, it was nice having those little bonding time to themselves, even if he was forcing himself to be patient sometimes when she struggled.
!
“ Relationships page is completed for now , just becase these are the supports I can recall from the top of my head / I can do for now. Not to say that if we’ve rp’ed and your name isn’t there , I wish to restart our relationship , but it might mean that I can't remember the rp now or I don’t feel like there’s enough to constitute a place. But I’m not too picky about it, just DM me if you want your name added ! ”
“ Oh ! And siblings have a B support automatically , unless it’s a special sort of AU / different play on the character ! ”
“ And if you feel it’s a different relationship type from your POV , just hit me up and I’ll change it right away ! ”
—≪❤≫”Ah, forgive me. Cottage. I forget that den is not a common word to call one’s home. You’d think after a century of being human I’d know better by now.”
She smiled lightly. Ahri was far from a strict teacher, however her language tended to be more formal. She was kind and would allow this one to discover her own form of confidence. The fact she was willingly following her already passed one of Ahri’s tests she had in mind, to show the girl she had bravery of her own.
“It’s not far from here, but in the woods out of the way. You won’t have to worry about people observing you until you’re ready for them to not just observe, but to notice and converse with them.”
She hadn’t even noticed that she was thinking out loud. Well this made it slightly awkward. Sakura gave a shy, embarrassed smile at the comment, wanting to wave away the atmosphere but that wouldn’t work. It was already a little awkward, what was the point of trying to dismiss it now?
Well, it could save her further embarrassment but that wasn’t needed, the topic had changed.
Hearing the lady’s next couple of words made her heart glow, it would’ve been a little humiliating if someone had caught the youngest princess of Hoshido taking lessons on confidence of all things. It would spread like wildfire, and reaching Ryoma and the rest soon enough.
That would be more than a little humiliating.
“O-oh, I just realised. I-I never learnt your... n-name... M-may I know it?”
A secret? Now this just interests Takumi even more. He knows it has something to do with music, as whenever the Nohrians are over Princess Elise goes right to Sakura’s room and music can be heard coming from there after. He doesn’t push this though, knowing that if he did it would just make Sakura go tight lipped.
“Has… has Prince Leo taught me chess?” the prince repeats, letting out a nervous laugh. Yes, Leo has taught him to play chess. And he sucks at it. So badly. Keeps forgetting the different rules and has yet to win a match against Leo… Takumi cannot even beat himself at chess, on account of him having to look at a rule book to make sure he’s playing correctly then giving up. “Well… yeeeaaahhh… he has…”
Sakura breathed a sigh of relief, glad that she wasn’t being pestered about it. She couldn’t keep a secret at all, making her an easy target if someone wanted to find out when or where something was. Of course, she could keep quiet if necessary, but small secrets were so hard to keep quiet about...
“T-that’s great. A-are you any g-good at it- since y-you’re really good at shogi! Y-you should be able to b-beat Prince L-Leo all the time, right?” She never played it herself, since Elise didn’t know quite enough to teach it to her ( not that either princesses minded much , tactical games weren’t their thing after all ) but it all seemed really interesting to her. All the monochromatic pieces and tiles, the different shapes and forms and roles they played.
They all made her want to learn just a little more. ( not that she would ever play though )
The prince considers what Sakura said for a few moments, frowning a bit. The Nohrian royal family are wanting to visit… but don’t know when they can? He hopes they can soon, as he had promised to teach Leo in person how to play shogi and teach him to use a yumi.
“Why are you so interested in what Prince Leo and I do? I’m rather curious as to what you are planning with Princess Elise… I recall the last time she visited I heard music from your room.” Quite good music too, that made both princes stop outside Sakura’s room for a good while to just listen to the different sounds. “I’m sure whatever you’ve got planned with Princess Elise is more interesting than two boring bookworms reading together.”
What she was planning with Princess Elise? What would she ever plan with Princess Elise?
Music...?
Oh, the sounds of her koto and Elise’s violin.
“W-well, i-it’s not very interesting. W-we don’t really have anything planned, a-and even if we did, I-I couldn’t tell you!” Right, it was to be a secret between only the two youngest princesses. It was supposed to be a surprise performance for the two families, assuming that the two are able to celebrate Christmas together. If not, it seems like Sakura and Elise would just have to convince the two families to get together during the New Years.
Or was he talking about the noise the two of them were making when they decided to switch instruments for a minute?
Sakura shuddered at the thought of her brother being able to hear that, tried bringing the topic back to him, “A-and I’m sure that you and P-Prince Leo have very interesting times together. H-Has he taught you to play... C-chess?”
Was it even called chess? Sakura couldn’t remember to save her life.
He closed his eyes sighing “H-heal?? ” he asked guessing her staff had healing properties, he looked at her again ’‘Put your hand in my mouth.. try Anything and i’ll bring punishment’’ he said sternly he had a sad look in his eyes.
Sakura slowly moved forward, as close to him as possible with a gentle smile, just like she does with all the wounded soldiers. Calming her breath and standing up, she recalled the steps necessary to heal someone drastically injured. With her festal loosely in her hand, she twirled and stepped according to memory in front of the creature.
Bending down one last time, she closed her eyes, swayed the festal above her head and sighed out, closing her eyes before smiling.
“D-do you feel any better?”
—≪❤≫”Lessons in confidence? That could be arranged. How could I turn down such an innocent desire?”
She considered her, looking deep beyond the girl’s outward appearance to her soul. Oh how the flame did tremble, but it was a great fire, a kind one. It hadn’t been tainted by the cruelties of this world.
“Come. Follow me to my den. I will begin with you immediately.”
Sakura smiled brightly at the woman, nodding her head eagerly and following behind her. But her choice of words confused her. Not only was the tone bringing her back to the strict shrine maiden training she had to go through as a child.
And that made her shudder a little.
“But den...?” What does she mean by that? Wasn’t it usually called a home or house or... In her case she guessed, castle?
Back to the tea party, just simple brother/sister time. No dolls, just enjoying each others company… Seems like a good thing in theory but in practice it isn’t exactly the easiest thing. Even if Takumi does love his sister, he’s not exactly… personal with her. He’s not exactly personal with many people, even if he wishes he could be. Thus, at first he wasn’t sure what to talk about and just went to eating the mochi provided, until Sakura spoke up about Prince Leo.
“Hmm? Yeah… he’s been giving me some new books to read on strategy and philosophy. And I’ve been giving him some too, ones that he hasn’t read.” the prince explains, letting out a soft sigh. “What about you and Princess Elise? Have you two been talking lately?”
Strategy...
Philosophy...?
She knew the two of them had more in common than they’d originally thought. Trading books about strategy and philosophy, probably playing chess in their free time too. Sakura knew it was typical, and Sakura smiled a bit at the thought that Hoshidans and Nohrians weren’t as different as they had originally thought. After all, everyone in the royal family was getting along now.
Somewhat.
“E-Elise and I have been t-trading letters as frequently as we can when we can’t s-see each other face to face. S-She says that her family would like to v-visit Hoshido again when they have the time, b-but I don’t expect it to be soon.” Sakura took a piece of her mochi, biting into it while thinking of how to continue the conversation. The topic of the Nohrian siblings hasn’t seemed to bring any distaste to Takumi yet, and she personally didn’t mind talking about them either.
“W-what about you and P-Prince Leo? B-besides trade books, d-do you do anything else?”
“Ah, yes… and a good afternoon to you as well, Princess Sakura.” Leo, being of the well mannered and polite sort, gave a courteous bow in return. The blond had always heard that she was meek and timid… but seeing it firsthand was a sight to behold.
Dare he say… it was actually cute. But he wouldn’t say that aloud in front of her own brother, gods no. Speaking of her brother, that’s all he could see now as she took to using him as cover.
“Is… something wrong, princess?”
Oh Gods, please just let me fade away already...
Seeing him bow down to her made her blush a little more than she already was. She knew it was out of politeness, one of the results of being raised a prince, but she couldn’t help but feel as little... Unworthy ( ? ) and that maybe he shouldn’t be bowing to someone as unfit to be a princess as she was.
But she wasn’t going to say it. This was Prince Leo, why would she say something that might potentially offend him?
“O-oh, u-um, nothing is wrong. I-I just... Feel unprepared f-for you arrival, P-Prince Leo.” ( Or she was just feeling a little shy but did he have to know that ? )
Her grip on her brother’s fur pelt tightened a little, looking away from the Nohrian prince and up to her brother for help on how to speak to the foreign prince.
[ continued from here || @flamingrubys ]
She didn’t want to admit it, she was a big girl now after all, but she was scared of this...
This creature.
She hasn’t seen anything like it in Nohr, and most definitely not in Hoshido. Half-dead, lying on the ground so sadly, it broke Sakura’s heart to watch something like this. She bit back her bottom lip, clenching onto her staff tighter to hide her fear.
“N-no, of course not.” To finish someone off? That wasn’t Sakura, and that was not what she would ever do to someone dying on the floors. She knelt down next to the body, checking for a pulse in his neck, feeling the soft thumps of a dying heart, before swallowing the fear in her throat.
It was her duty as a priestess to help the weak and injured, and it was her duty as the youngest princess of Hoshido to make sure no one would die in her sight. The blood he coughed out landed near her feet, and she knew her insincts told her to recoil back ( it could be infected with poison ) but she couldn’t bring herself to do something so... Insensitive.
She couldn’t kill him, even if he was alive and holding that sword to her neck. She watched him creep deeper into the cave, and while she hated to think that she would have to go deeper into the darkness, she followed anyway as she hopped to the man, Moon Festal still held so tight that her knuckles turned white.
“I-I know you p-probably don’t trust me, b-but at least let me h-heal your wounds first. Y-you’ll die out here i-if you continue lying there...”
Why did Takumi ever consider leaving? He cannot figure it out as he held onto his little sister, both of them crying. He cannot leave her or Hinoka or Ryoma… heck he can’t even leave Azura. He wouldn’t be able to bring himself to. “I… I promise not to go anywhere.” he says when the princess pulls back, forcing a smile as he reaches to wipe her tears away.
“How… how about we get back to the tea party?” he offers, wanting to abandon using the dolls and just enjoy time with his sister. Forget what they had spoken about with using the dolls as a spokespiece. “Just… just you and me. No dolls.”
Feeling him wipe away her tears made her feel like a child again, and Sakura couldn’t help the small sniff that escaped as she looked up him.
“Y-yeah, g-getting back s-sounds like a g-good idea,” she hiccuped a little, scooting back to her place shyly. Though she hated the idea of abandoning the dolls, she knew it was for the best at this point. This way, they could be more open with each other ( somewhat ) and she could improve on her communication skills. But what could they talk about to break the awkward mood?
...
“S-so, I heard that y-you and P-Prince Leo exchanged books recently.”
“You all deserve my best.” Corrin replied gently but earnestly, returning the other’s smile. “I don’t know where I’d be now without your acceptance, love, and determination. Certainly not back in my home with all of you. Thank you for standing by me through thick and thin, Sakura.”
“I’m…actually not sure what tea you drink here.” She admitted after a moment, faltering. “I’m used to Nohrian teas or drinks Jakob made on his own. I think…Camilla mentioned that Kukicha is Hoshidan, right? I’ve never had twig tea, but I’d be willing to try it.”
Sakura blushed at the compliments, wanting to deny everything because really, Corrin was the one that stood strong by Hoshido and tried as hard as she could to fit in and have everyone love her. She knew Hana was wary at first of Corrin, especially when she had first joined the group.
It was amazing to see Corrin power through it all and still be able to lead such a large group of soldiers.
Hearing Corrin talk about Nohrian tea made Sakura frown a bit, racking her brain for any type of Nohrian teas they might have in the kitchen. Maybe... Chamomile... Was Oolong tea Nohrian? Or was she remembering wrongly now?
( she knew her knowledge of foreign tea left much to be desired but was she really that bad at remembering? )
“K-kukicha? W-would you really be willing to try it? I-I mean, i-if Nohrian tea is what you d-desire, I-I’m sure the kitchen w-will have some.” Sakura looked up at her sister, trying to contain her smile at her sister’s suggestion. Being able to drink Kukicha would be a great treat for her, but would Corrin really want to try something like that?
“Ah… It’s just a little thing that I enjoy when I’m stuck in traps… I do it all the time, and I thought since it was clear tonight…”
The archer pointed up to the sky. An array of stars littered the black canvas of the night sky, sparkling brightly. The river of stars spilt across the sky outlining the galaxy of the Milky Way. It certainly wasn’t a sight that Setsuna saw often, perhaps one that the princess saw even less.
Hoping that it would lighten the young princess’s mood, Setsuna turned to look at the maiden.
“…It’s almost like an observatory… with the entrance isolating a section of the sky… At least, that’s how I always thought of it…”
The stars drew Sakura’s attention immediately. She wasn’t able to look at them much, what with her not being able to be out much as night in case of a stray spy, and the times when she was awake later into the night was only at parties, and by the time it ended, she’d be too drained to even answer to her name.
So stars were a beautiful thing to see every once in a while. With the twinkling and blinks dots, trying to spot the few constellations that she remembers from the heavy textbooks Takumi had given her when she was younger just to look at the pretty pictures.
“W-what’s your horoscope, S-Setsuna? M-maybe we can f-find it in the sky.” She glanced over at the archer before looking back up, spotting the simple line of her own horoscope and smiling a bit, breathing in the night air in the process with a surprising calmness while trapped in a pitfall.
—≪❤≫”Then ask away. I’m all ears.”
As if to punctuate her statement her fox ears twitched a little. She thought the other to be adorable, to be frank. How could she resist such a sweet young girl?
Sakura glanced up for a moment, seeing the woman’s ears move and making her giggle. She reminded her a little of Kaden, but only with the twitching ears, and Sakura couldn’t help but smile a little at the thought.
But the question of her question came up; could she really ask someone, a total stranger nonetheless, something so... Strange?
“U-um, I... I had just w-wanted to ask i-if... W-well, if you c-could teach me t-to be a l-little more... C-confident?”
