βi know youβre not who you expected this morning butβ¦β hebe raised the extra coffee cup in her hand.Β βit looks like you need this. they messed up my first order so they gave it to me for free so you donβt owe me anything anyways. please take it.β
Pluto waits for the line to thin out, head pillowed by his arms whilst the pounding behind his temple fail to subside. A voice catches his attention, and heβd be too tired to actually acknowledge anyone at this state, but the smell of caffeine perks him up just a bit.
βOh thank fucking heavens,β he practically moans, reaching out to take his first sip.Β βI need to repay you still. What do you want?Β Shoes? Money? My first born?βΒ

βIβm afraid wishing wonβt help my situation.β Nemesis said, rather bitterly for someone who must have thought she was some stranger. She knew herself and knew just how rotten she could get to thinking, but as all hope continually diminished, it felt like a slap in the face to her once she really began thinking about things just going back to normal due to a certain wish.
βIβd be remiss if I thought something as simple as a wish could solve my problems.β Uttering a short sigh after her words, she turned to Plutus, gaining her short appreciation for them.Β βYou knowβ¦perhaps you should pocket the change, that might bring you more luck in the wish department. Things donβt just happen, you have to act on them.β
-
Pluto stands there awkwardly with his arm outstretched and his hand full of coins. He should have read the room before offering but thereβs always something in himΒ that tells the man to share his blessings. Besides, what would he do with coins other than use it for wishing fountains? Something about the action of it relaxes him and heβs kind of sure that his parents used to do it with him.
He offers the stranger an apologetic smile, slowly lowering his arm and pocketing the rest of the coins though he does have plans to use it for the fountain.Β βIβm sorry,β he tries though he doesnβt know what the woman is going through.Β βIf itβs any consolation, I can wish twice as hard for you.β Pluto makes a point of throwing in a couple more coins.Β βBut if you can have whatever you want, with a flick of your wrist, what would it be? Actions are hard. Wishing is easy.β

Β Β Β Β Β Cerberus rarely felt like she fit in at the club, she was almost always there, of course, but she missed how things were before. The Underworld may have been just as crowded but it had a certain kind of order to the chaos, the club felt orderless, controlled but not ordered, and so sometimes she just had to get away from it, pull herself together. The cool breeze of the evening always calmed her, the scent of Athens on her nose.
Β Β Β Β Β Β That was peace was interrupted, though it occasionally was so she had no irritation for the person who came out. The guy probably needed a break himself, so Cerberus nodded, pushing off the wall and walking over to him. βYeah,β she answered, drawing a lighter from her back pocket that was silver with a hound engraved on it.Β βI donβt smoke though. Tastes like trash,β she explained, not necessarily a judgement but more of an explanation as to why she was declining.Β

The alcohol that swims in his system helps warms Pluto up against the night winds but he wants something stronger. Hopefully the cigarette would help sober him up just a bit so heβd be ready for whatever anyone else offers him. Heβs responsibleΒ when it comes to what he puts in his body but thereβs always that wish for something that would fill up the emptiness he feels inside. Plutoβs not sure where it comes from, but thereβs always that longingΒ for more.
Thankful that the stranger has what he needs, heβs about to offer one of his sticks when she explains her stance on cigarettes. Pluto quickly pockets his pack, lights the tip of his and inhales with a shudder as the smoke makes its way through his lungs and back out again.Β βYeah it does,β he agrees though the hypocrisy isnβt lost on him.Β βSo tell me, gorgeous. Whatβs your poison? Iβm sure at a place like this, we can find anything we need.β

Β Β βand if i have no wishes?β she responded, he wasnβt meant to die here so the least she could do is make sure he doesnβt. clio still kept an odd distance though, she wasnβt sure what would be crossing the line versus just walking it. he hadnβt hurt himself yet which was a fair sign, her mouth opened ready to state she had no means for money but he continued to talk. drunk beings were soβ¦ unamusing. clio walked to where sheβd seen him toss the chain, surly his state now would not be the best to remind him people are watching even when he thinks heβs alone.Β βyou canβt come down, at all by yourself?β the muse finally questioned, staring long and rather coldly up at him, the chain he spoke of she held.
-
βSurely you have somethingΒ you want,β Pluto is surprised at the way the stranger voices it with no hesitation. Heβs never met anyone with such certainty and for wantingΒ things nonetheless. The man has always lived a life satisfying every desire, every wishΒ and to meet someone who had none? Unheard of.Β βEveryoneΒ wants something. Come on. Whatβs your price? New dress? New phone? New car? I can give you the worldΒ if youβd let me.β The rambles of a drunken man should always be ignored but Pluto knows thereβs some grain of truth in his words. He keeps his eyes on her, the surprisedΒ βoβ of his mouth morphing into a grateful smile when he sees the other go for his chain. Though thereβs still tensionΒ there, itβs easily ignored while the tequila still swims through his system.Β βI mean I can but I donβt think Iβd look good with a cast on.β

the smile on plutoβs lips had hermes relaxing further back into the couch. that oh so familiar smile.. he wanted to kiss it off him. a laugh left him as he nodded.Β βi have seen him around but iβve seen better abs. or you can look at the real thing on me,β he teased the other, sending him a wink.Β βyou could have such more interesting people here, ones that are real and donβt need to paint on abs.β
with the god so close, hermes let himself breath the other in. he was still the same. the god hiding inside a mortal now though. all he wanted was his god back.Β βare those my only options?β he teased back, reaching his arm back over the couch to gently touch the otherβs shoulder.Β βi think iβm going to have to go for that drink. but does it have to be later? can it be now? sneak out of your own party and go some place moreβ¦ quiet?β he asked, his eyes never leaving the others.
-
The laughter from the other silences all the other noises of the party. Pluto looks in aweΒ at this stranger who happens to grab his attention so quicklyΒ and catches him so unguarded.Β βSo are you offering to take your shirt off for me?β The teasing is a little too forward, but Pluto feels that he can be comfortableΒ around Hermes though he hasnβt spent nearly enough time for that to be true. And yet it is.Β βHonestly I donβt know how these people end up here. I just provide the place the alcohol and the place and they all end up coming.β
Even the slightest touch is electrifyingΒ and Pluto wants moreΒ of it.Β βFor now,β he throws back.Β βIf youβre good, then maybe we can open up more options for you.β His eyes glance around the hotel suite. There really isnβt anything here thatβs causing him to stay other than his name on the reservation. Thereβs not much any of these people can steal from him anyway with his phone and wallet already in his pocket.Β βIβm not from around here so if you know a place,β he starts, taking a stand and offering his hand to the other.Β βThen Iβm game.β

Pluto finds himself waking in the park, the pounding of his head a clear indicator of the impending hangover the previous nightβs party unfortunately bestowed upon him. He tosses his coat to this side and digs the heels of his palm against his temple. It does nothing to alleviate the pain from his head. Sighing, he pushes himself from the ground and staggers onto the cement walk-way, but with his eyes firmly shut, he doesnβt see the stranger he practically topples against.Β βIβm so sorry,β he manages out though the raspy voice scratches its way out of his throat.Β βPlease just leave me here to die.βΒ
nobiliscaecaβ:
Β she walked in the shadows or was trying too, it almost took her by surprise when he called out to her, well at least one drunken being was oddly aware. not totally sure if he knew she was who she was or simply intoxicated and hyper aware of their unfortunate surroundings. glancing towards him, her arms crossed in front of her.Β βyou did not give me a reason to help you.β clio respondedΒ βas a matter of fact-lyβ tone, she shouldnβt help him. if he were to fall than it was the fates, if he were to stay up there then it were the fates. or just maybe the fates were placing her there to help? the rich man better have something to offer, unlike him unaware she had her life intact.Β Β

Leave it to Pluto to not only get himself stuck on a tree but find someone who needs bribing to help him get down. Fortunately, in his alcohol-induced state, heβs not pickyΒ as to who comes to his rescue and if need be, heβs willing to give them whatever they want -- which is what he voices onto the stranger.Β βI can make your wishes come true,β he slurs, giggling a bit to himself at the wording.Β βHow much will it take? I got some cash in me. You can have it.β A smarter man would be a little less vocal about their financial means in public, but Plutoβs never been one to actually care.Β βActually, if I add in a little more, would you be able to pass me the chain I accidentally tossed onto one of those bushes over there?β
luckyhermesβ:
a small shiver ran down his spine as his ex lover said his name once again. the last time he remembered that was too long ago in a hallway outside the party. gods he loved this man and he had no idea who he was. hermes had never been worthy.Β βwellβ¦ i am having a fun time. better now actually. i made my rounds but no one was as interesting as you.β which was the truth. he only had eyes on plutus tonight.Β
hermes drank from his glass slowly, his eyes never leaving the other man. he was so different yet the same. the biggest difference was this pluto looked tired. like being mortal drained everything out of him. he wanted him to be full of life like he used to be..Β βcan i be honest with you? i didnβt come with anyone. i had heard about your parties and iβ¦ i might have snuck in.β
-
Pluto smiles -- actually smilesΒ -- and feels himself enjoying the otherβs presence. He preens at the compliment and gets comfortable on the couch.Β βOh? Well Iβm not sure about that. Have you seen the guy thatβs been going around showing everyone his abs?β The man in question walks past by them and Pluto tilts his head with a smirk on his features.Β βI heard that theyβre painted on. Thankfully for him my lights are dim enough to hide the fact.β
He nudges in closer, eyes drinking Hermes in slowly. Thereβs a nagging thought in the back of his head about the familiarity that surges, but itβs pushed aside for later.Β βYou snuck in?β Plutoβs eyes shine with mirth as he tries to hold in his laughter.Β βHm. Thatβs a rather serious offense,β he teases.Β βI think we would have to let the authorities deal with that. Or you can get a drink with me some time after this. Dealerβs choice.βΒ

Β Β a cheeky smile crept onto his face, if you didnβt learn to accept your infamous tale then you would go insane. so narcissus simply allowed all of them to speak as they did.Β βyes and i can say truthfully it was time needed. i find facial hair is much better fitting for myself.β
-
βI can agree with you on that.β Plutus leans against his chair and reallyΒ takes in the man at his table.Β βYouβre not like other humans, are you,β he questions, though itβs more of a remark.Β βSo -- Narcissus was it? What say you about the company of gods and goddesses? Frankly speaking, which one has caught your eye tonight?β
the-dionysusβ:
.
Dionysus gave a cheeky grin, sipping his drink before responding.Β βAre you saying that all the Gods and Goddesses of Olympus are notΒ to your taste?β The God questioned, knowing that there must be someoneΒ who could tempt Plutus.Β βCome on, pick one. Anyone.βΒ
-
βPerhaps I hold a different standard.β His thoughts flit to one Olympian God in particular but of course, Plutus doesnβt voice his name. Instead, he mimics Dionysusβ grin as he makes a show of taking a good look around the room theyβre in.Β βAphrodite,β he finally says because she is always the easiest choice.Β βUnless youβre volunteering.βΒ

Β Β he snaked his way through the crowd, narcissus was all but one. he didnβt have the greatest rep and honestly the idea of him being at one of these was weirdly surprising, at least he wasnβt drinking up his own reflection. swiping a glass from a passing server he plopped at a table, a large smile to the company.Β βhello there, iβm narcissus.β
The gala is a little tameΒ for his taste. Plutus would have had a grandeur vision but since he isnβt the one hosting, he holds his comments. Sat at a table, he picks at the choice for table cloth when he gains a companion. Not wanting to be rude, he returns the smile.Β βI know of you,β Plutus eyes the man and nods as if he likes what he sees.Β βI now understand the fascination with your reflection.β
worstnemesisβ:
βTell me about it!β Nemesis interjected, her own scorn clearly visible on her distraught expression.Β βI absolutely cannot believe the nerve of the mortals, forgetting who we are, then not realizing the pain and suffering weβve gone through, on their behalf. And yetβ¦nothing, we get nothing from them.β She felt anger grow within her core as she let out a heavy breath.
-
Plutus is grateful that he finds someone that shares his sentiments. While he is usually apathetic at worst, agreeable at bestΒ towards mortals -- especially those that pray for wealth -- his current conditions render him irritable.Β βThey ask to be blessed and we get what? Nothing. Theyβre weak-willed and weak-minded and weβreΒ supposed to aid in their little affairs.βΒ Plutus fails to hide the disdain in his voice.Β βMaybe we should do something about it.β

βWell arenβt you a sight for sore eyes?β Dionysus grinned at Plutus.Β βTell me, when are you doing to finally agree to let me find you a sugar baby? Surely you have enough of everything to spare for some poor unfortunate horny lady?βΒ
@afflventβ
As his eyes search for a certain god, it lands on another that catches his attention. Plutus returns the grin, finding himself chuckling at the suggestion.Β βYou say that as if you can find someone worthyΒ enough to share my bed,β he points out.Β βMy sex life is fine enough without the meddling, Dionysus.β
