I want to do more adult themed toku stuff. I think it'd be fun to explore different themes and stories through one-shots. This could be an idea for down the road, but a story about a mexican boxer who lives a double life as a transforming hero ala Kamen Rider. He struggles with his dual identity, and copes with booze and sex. I always draw cute stuff, it'd be fun to get out of that comfort zone. #toku #tokusatsu #comics #concept #manga

Yesterday our kickstarter for the Star Rangers x Red Visor GO crossover hit over 13k, as a promise, I said i’d post a sneak peak of Red Visor #2. I’m really proud of that last panel on Page 3. Even without lettering, its so powerful. It’s basically a message of who drives you to fight, who are you protecting?

HENSHIN A GO GO!

This is a three panel spread of Catalina’s transformation into the Red Visor. I absolutely love the art on this. Fun fact, the last page I actually drew way before I even started on a single page of the comic and even before we had the script finished!

PRETTY RANGER TECH SOLDIER (CONCEPT)

So before my team and I came up with the title XENO-GUARDIAN RED VISOR GO! My working title was “Pretty Ranger Tech Soldier”, because I wanted to show influence from Magical girl series like Sailor Moon. I made the character and design before we even had a plot. My whole concept was Magical Girl meets Super Sentai. I really am proud of this design. She’s such a fun character to draw!

This is the very first cover of my comic Xeno-Guardian Red Visor GO! It’s a story about a young girl named Catalina, who grew watching a tv show called XENO-GUARDIANS! A low budget team action hero show (basically power rangers!). She goes to a comic con to meet the main hero the Red Visor, but the actor was a total jerk! Dismayed, she walks around finding his sunglasses. She puts them on and transforms into the hero, giving her all the super powers! I am very influenced by old school manga like Cyborg 009 and Kikkaider, so if you like that, then you may enjoy this! I also have a lot of fans who compare my style to Scott Pilgrim!
