adistantresolution replied to your post: "Why is everyone so riled up? What is this...
"It’s HallowEEEeeeeEEEEeeeeEEEeeeeNNNnnNNNnnnnNNNNnnnnn"
"I don't know what that is though... Is it something important?" Celebrations and holidays were lost to Silver. He was someone who had lived his whole life without even celebrating a birthday. He didn't have time for such things. That, and he had no idea what they were or what they meant.
"Why is everyone so riled up? What is this 'Halloween' I keep hearing about?"
 soldimension said: "…That’s awful, Silver."
Silver lowered his ears a tad. "...Blaze..." This sight of her still boggled his mind. But it wasn't an unpleasant thing. Being reminded of his old friend, even in the eyes of an alternate if said cat. It was refreshing.Â
"Why do you think my zone is so much different from everyone else's? Why do you think Mephiles still lives while Iblis is gone? Blaze...she...She vanished after I sealed Iblis within her. Nothing can bring her back. That is why I wish to save the world she loved. The world we were born in."
"It’s the end of October. In October, and November, which is the month after this, the leaves die. This is a tree’s way of keeping itself alive through the cold winter. All we see are the beautiful colors that come of it, in the spring, there will be fresh, green leaves all over again." He chose to answer the easier question first. He already knew the answer to that first one. It was the result of answering it honestly that he was afraid of.
"I can’t give you an answer to that. I strongly lean towards both sides, but I can only choose one. In the first, you get to be happy, and that’s what I want. You get to experience life the way I did. In the other, my life has purpose. I get the chance to be the person who makes you happy, even with all of the terrible things surrounding you. How did you want me to answer that? I wasn’t gonna lie to you." But now he felt like a terrible person for wanting that. For wanting to be the one who made him happy, as opposed to letting him live a normal life.
He turned, making his way towards a tree and sitting down in the numerous leaves that had fallen. He didn’t want to hear what would come next. That he was never to come back, for wanting such a selfish thing.
Silver shook his head and gazed out once more over the changing world before him. A small smile tugged at his lips. "It's your brutal honesty that I find admirable, Ray. The fact that you don't beat around the bush or lie about what it is you believe in, what you want, what you feel."
"Maybe I'm just a little jealous. I don't think I could be as open as you are about it..." But then again, he was someone who would sacrifice everything to make someone else's life easier.Â
"I didn't mean to put you on the spot like that. Sorry..." A leaf blew by, caught up in the wind, and Silver lifted his hand, catching it within his telekinetic grip and bringing it back. He twisted his hand slightly and the leaf flipped a few times, Silver's golden eyes examining it. "So the trees are not actually dying. They are merely resting?" Then...maybe there was still hope for his homeland. He would be the one to reawaken it when this long and abusive winter had come to it's end. When Shadow and Mephiles' reign finally ended.
so silver is all of this future stuff true? shadow betrayed us all and become evil and sonic died and blaze is dead?
"In my zone, yes... In other zones that doesn't seem to be the case."Â
"I sometimes have trouble differentiating between zones and alternates and the sort..."
thanks silver
"..."
"For what?"

 "Shadow and…"
"Mephiles?" Only one of those names sounded familiar to the robotic hedgehog. He’d never heard of someone by the name of Mephiles. But he was under the impression that Shadow was a good guy. Guess that wasn’t true for all zones…
"What happened?"
Silver's fingers clenched tightly into fists at his sides, his ears folding down flat and his vibrant yellow eyes closing to contain the rage he felt consuming him. "They...destroyed everything. My people...my zone. They are the 'Gods' that rule over my home. They seek to rid the world of all living things, though why I know not." One hand slashed through the air in a momentary fit of violence and Silver growled lowly.Â
"My entire life was spent cowering in fear. Hiding in any nook or cranny the devastation of my world could offer when Iblis was alive. The air there is tainted. The water is poisoned. There is little to no food left. Someone had to do something. Someone had to step up."Â
So Silver had made himself the target. He'd managed to get rid of Iblis, sealing the creature away within his best friend, Blaze. But none of them had expected Shadow's betrayal.Â
Shadow had been the one to kill them all. He had been the one to destroy the past. Silver had had no other choice but to return to the future, and this was what his home had been reduced to. Maybe there was no other way to change what was to be total destruction. Mephiles and Shadow fought together as one. Alone, Silver had no hopes of taking them down.Â
That was why he sought out the emeralds.Â
"I'm going to kill them. I have to. My world will have no hope otherwise." He'd been fighting for so long. But...he had no intentions of stopping any time soon. He would keep fighting for the remainder of his life if that's what it took.

"And what plans would those be, if you don’t mind me asking?"
Silver hesitated, giving a pause. His honey colored eyes lifted to the robot and narrowed coldly, hatefully. But the hardened emotion wasn't directed at Jack. No, it was directed at those mentioned in his next words.
"I'm going to eliminate Shadow and Mephiles from my world...for good..."

"You’re doing all that by yourself? Taking care of an entire planet’s a big job. Please tell me you have some help." Alternate or not, Silver was still his teammate. And he wanted to help if he could.
"I had been doing it alone for a while, but as of late...a few people have offered to help." Though it was help he adamantly tried to refuse. Only when he was truly desperate did he rely on others. His trust was hard earned. No one gained it easily.
"There aren't that many people left to care for. The job is hard, I'll admit. But I'm taking care of it accordingly. A few more camps to go, and the zone will be entirely evacuated. I can move on with my plans after that."
"I don’t think you are ungrateful," She replied, her hand being placed upon her hip as her eyes softened. "I appreciate the thanks, but you really needn’t do so. I want as many people as possible to be safe and I’m more than happy to help in anyway that I can." She told him.
"I only want you to know that I sympathize with you. That is all I meant."
Silver kept his eyes averted from her, nodding his head in understanding. "I...can appreciate that as well. You have no idea how much of a relief it is to know that my people are safe with you in your homeland." He glanced downward and attempted a small smile, though it was strained. It was very rare that he genuinely smiled at someone, and even then it was only usually Ray that could draw that out of him.Â
"And I'm certain my people are more than happy to live in a home as beautiful as yours, Blaze. For that, I will be eternally grateful to you. They don't have to fear death. They don't have to fear starvation or pain."
"I understand where you are coming from, Silver," She explained. "but I was not looking down on you at all." She assured him.
"If anything I admire you and your determination to save your world."
His posture relaxed slowly, bristled quills slowly laying back again. One ear perked forward, then slowly then next followed. "...Blaze..."Â
Well, she'd certainly calmed his anger for the time being. "I just don't want my world to fall further into despair than it already has. And I am grateful to you for all of your help thus far. I don't wish for you to think I do not appreciate the help."
"Well you don’t need to suggest something as heinous as moving to another zone and not caring for the people of your own. That poor Silver has gone through so much and doesn’t need your grief."Â
"..." Well he had been through a lot...but...
"Please, do not pity me. I can handle myself fine on my own..." He didn't take well to having others worry or think of him as someone who couldn't take care of his own problems. "I'm an adult. I've gotten this far, haven't I?"Â
But he was being rude again. Silver shook his head, placing a hand against his face for a moment to calm himself.Â
"Forgive me. I don't mean to snap. But I don't appreciate it when others...look down on me because of my situation."
afracturedabsolution started following you
"Alright, alright. Yeesh, touch-y. It was just a suggestion anyway. You’re too uptight." Even more so than the Silver from his own zone. And that was saying something. "I get that you’re trying to be noble and everything but you don’t need to be a jerk about it."
A jerk? Silver's expression dropped a tad. He hadn't meant to come across as so brash, but...he didn't take it lightly when someone spoke of his home so loosely. "Perhaps you're right. I didn't mean to sound so harsh." It had to be the stress getting to him.Â
"It's not easy, trying to bring back an entire planet. I was wrong to take my anger out on you. This is my problem and I should not be burdening you with it."Â
afracturedabsolution started following you
"Yeah well, I’m not like most robots." There’s that smug grin again. "I have a life. And it’s pretty darn cool if I do say so myself."
Then he looked Silver over. “Sounds to me like you should move somewhere else. Another zone, maybe?”
"I cannot move to another zone." A bristling of quills and the narrowing of sharp, golden eyes was the response. He was more than just a little defensive on this subject. "Those that have survived on my homeland still need me. And until I have gotten them to safety, I cannot rest."
"Nothing is more important to me than the lives of those IÂ still can save. And I will save them, no matter the cost."
His eyes lowered. Seeing that expression on the other’s face, it made him feel terrible. Not only because of the suffering Silver had gone through, but because of the squirrel’s only selfishness. “I’m glad it happened.” He spoke quietly, staring at the ground. “I’m glad you are who you are, because I wouldn’t want you any other way. I’m happy that I got the chance to meet you. If your world was at peace, that wouldn’t have happened.”
His arms folded loosely against his chest. “I know that makes me a terrible, selfish person, and I’m sorry about that, but it’s how I feel, and I’m not gonna lie about it. I’ll fight for those people with everything I have, but I’m not gonna pretend I’m not thankful things happened the way they did.” His arms folded tighter, his hands clenching into fists. “I know they’ll be stopped once and for all. I’ll do it myself if I have to.”
White ears pressed down. He could see Ray's reasoning behind it, but it still stung to hear those words. Silver would give his own life willingly if it meant his people could survive. Such things like selfishness made no sense to him. He couldn't understand.Â
"If there were a choice given to you...to save my people...to save my world, would you do it? Even if it were at the cost of meeting me?" Silver didn't see what was so great about himself. He wasn't physically strong. He wasn't good-looking in his own eyes. What Ray saw in him, he couldn't even begin to fathom. Honeyed eyes tilted away to stare back out at the leaves. They were...dying, weren't they?
"I have seen many green, living worlds. This one...Why is this one so different?"
