listen please! 😍😍💜💛 #Repost @folahontas with @make_repost ・・・ Its the way this went viral for some reason 😅🙃 LET ME BREAK IT DOWN: its a myth to think hair grows *FASTER* from your SCALP when you trim/cut. What’s actually happening is it *APPEARS* to be growing faster because you’re *RETAINING LENGTH* in a shorter amount of time. Trims/Cuts make the ends healthier, so it’s not breaking off at the same rate that your hair is growing. It might be just difference in language for people who already have an overall understanding of hair growth when the terms “faster hair growth” is replaced with “retaining length” & thats totally ok! To some people this is probably common sense, but a lot aren’t innately born knowing this. Especially the babies on Tiktok (where this was originally posted & answered) who surprisingly still believe this. (theyre still learning 🥺) Ofcourse regularly maintain your ends and still trim/cut unhealthy damaged ends, otherwise you risk damaging the other parts of your hair. My point: When everything is minimized & deemed has “x = faster hair growth” ppl tend to land in rabbit holes of chasing faster growth schemes on the internet than understanding what’s really at play. This is a short clip of how I detangle my hair...I get lots of questions every day and one of them is "how I detangle". . The idea is to prepare your hair before the detangling process.. . First you wanna section your hair...its just easier to handle in sections . Then, you spray your hair with what you have in your spray bottle... Mine is the Harmony Naturals Detangling Tea..and you wanna make sure you massage in..notice how I massage my scalp and my hair..so that my tea, can get absorbed properly into my hair...that way my hair softens up. . Then I go in with my fingers to finger detangle right before I go in with my wide tooth comb. . Another thing you can do is...while you are working on the first section, spray the second section, massage lightly and twist it away so it it starts absorbing what you sprayed before you are done with the section you are working on... I hope this makes sense. . Note: I do not use brushes on my hair...they just aren't meant for my type of hair. . Again, choose the right detangling tool. .
