Why Drew have to pay devin????

They reached a settlement in court. That could either be because there might have not been enough evidence to go to trial so both parties agreed to a settlement, or Drew didn't want it to escalate to a trial where he could potentially go to prison and/or be put on a list as a sex offender.

The settlement is compensation for emotional damages that Drew will be paying for a couple of years.

In case anyone is still interested after all these years here's some corrections and updates.

It was a Civil case so it wouldn't have gone to trial. Based on things Devin has hinted at, he either didnt have enough evidence for his lawyer to recommend a criminal trial or Devin just wasn't informed of his options between the two courts.

The settlement payments will end in August this year.

Well Drew, Jayk, and Blake still hang out. Devin living his best life. TC is vlogging with Michelle and enjoying the married life. Drew's probably paying a settlement to Devin for the next few years.

Yes and no. There was a final meeting but no trial. Devin and Drew agreed on an undisclosed settlement. So Drew has to pay Devin monthly until August 2024

Yes actually! The case is no longer going to a jury trial. The next (and final?) trial is April 30th and that's a final review of the case. Seems that Drew chose (and Devin accepted) a settlement.

I wont say definitely one way or the other but if Devin was lying why would he include sexual assult charges? He could have just tried to get compensation that he didnt get from being in After Romeo and called it a day.

okay, so

I wasn’t a fan or a part of the AR fandom, but I was with VFC. I wasn’t even a fan, but more-so an obsessed, dedicated, loyal, die-hard supporter and fan to the guys. It all began in 2009, when Thomas and Bobby were still in the band - and it wasn’t until 2012 that I finally made the decision that it was time to let go and move on to bigger and better things. It was a hard decision to make, considering this band meant everything to me and I had made so many wonderful memories. What broke me though was the never-ending drama; from switching management, to delayed album releases, hundreds of songs being unfinished and leaked, hundreds of songs actually being kept a secret from us, and so so much more - band members leaving. When Thomas first left, I was devastated but eventually got over it once TC came into the mix. Then, Bobby gets kicked out and all fucking Hell breaks loose. Then, David secretly leaves and the news doesn’t get out until like 2 months after the fact; nobody told us shit. They just spontaneously woke up one day and were like, “hey we’re not vfc anymore we’re rebranding hope you understand lol” They promised they wouldn’t delete their videos from their YouTube channel - LIES. There were so many allegations (from people that personally knew them) that the guys (i.e. Drew and Jayk) were not being honest about their ages and names - but of course, I was naive as fuck and refused to believe that shit. I was a young teenager (12-14), I didn’t know any better. I think what especially contributed to that naive behavior was the fact that I was the most attached to Drew. I had so many amazing and wonderful memories with him. I’m just now finding about all of this news - and as shocked, disgusted, heartbroken, and dumbfounded I am - I knew I should have listened from the beginning. I’m just relieved that I left before AR became a thing. I was hurt and heartbroken enough as it was, but this just only amplifies it by so much. I’m 21 now, and I would do absolutely anything to go back in time and stop myself from getting so attached to such a toxic, shady fucking band.

I'm glad you protected yourself early! I only started being a fan right after the Bobby drama happened. I would always look up to see if new Drew songs leaked and one day found the name Jimmy Andrew Richard listed under a song that i know Drew worked on but DRS wasnt listed. I didnt know many ppl in the AR fandom so any information i found would only be for myself rip;;;;;

Another bad thing is that AR just dropped off the map because of all the legal stuff but they never evem said anything about them going on hiatus or breaking up. That leaves so many fans not knowing anything and i assume many of them arent even aware of the lawsuit and upcoming jury trial. Jayk, Blake, and maybe TC are all removed from the case but they've /known/ about Drew and what he did and what he was "into". What kind of people would stay beside someone who (allegedly) repetitively harassed a 15 year old boy who was dependent of him? How did they let this go on for 5 years without putting a stop to it?
