Let me know if I missed anything
post co/pre ws simon snow wouldāve been on r/kitchencels
Simon wouldnāt be on r/malelivingspace since he didnāt have his own place yet, but if he did itād be equally funny.
Couch I got from the curb and my coffee table. Cool tapestry I got at the thrift. I have a boyfriend but my butt hasnāt been explored. Improvements?

I have a boyfriend but every time he gets it up I start crying. Burnt sandwich with butter and three bottles of beer.
Was bored and ordered a third copy of any way the wind blows.
So now I got three copies of carry on, two wayward son, three any way the wind blows, and then also that special edition set that idk if it will ever get sent out, and that one fanfic that got published on my shelf.
Sadly Iāll still never get my hands on the indigo editions of WS and AWTWB but I guess Iām collecting the UK ones now? I got issues.
Iām sending Baz Pitch to monster high so he gets bullied for being so posh and gets humbled and becomes a better person. I think him a Valentine could compete for being most insufferable and dramatic man alive.
Please just confess your love for your immaculate conception magical man crushes. Is Simon half immaculate conception? Maybe?
Technically most characters arenāt bullies but my point is heās so insecure that a simple question about how he speaks would make him feel bad
This is what the Carry On TikTok musical feels like
Thank god Iām not the only one š that shit gave me secondhand embarrassment
i have GOT to get a crush or some sort of romantic development in my life, i went to bed last night fantasizing over a fourth simon snow book
based tbh i too find myself doing this ugh
Every time I do get a crush I end up imagining myself as Baz towards Simonš It's inescapable
Me when I liked my best friend for five years or so years (maybe all of middle school & then I went out of my way to befriend her in high school and still liked her) and just didnāt say shit & didnāt tell anyone & no one knew. Call me Baz Pitch the way Iām repressed and unreadable.
when you make out with your bf in front of your best friend after committing a crime
Me when I work at Quiznos and Iām working the oven or whatever. And Iām Simon Snow. And Baz is the stove or oven or whatever.
Maybe this is a controversial take, but all this bullshit with The Odyssey is exactly why I hope some of my favorite books and series NEVER get adapted. No Carry On movie, please and thank you. The TAZ animated series died in the development stage? GOOD! I'm glad the Raven Cycle TV series never got off the ground. They would all be terrible, and we would all be surprised and disappointed, despite the fact that we have no reason to trust Hollywood to make a faithful adaptation that captures the tone and vibe of the original.
Truth nuke. Tbh if Carry On got a TV adaptation or movie I would probably leave the fandom cause Iām not about all that. Love when original shows come out cause thatās nice and all, but whenever thereās an adaptation of something itās never RIGHT. Lowkey why I ditched Heartstopper (that and I grew out of it, never watched the show).
what i really like about Simon is how he feels like a metaphor for being "gifted" and neurodivergent. (In my experience)
He's the greatest mage, hes the chosen one. He can't seem to cast a spell half the time. But also spells just happen without words sometimes.
He's got a natural affinity for magick, but he always feels behind in how the magickal world works
He tries his best and still fails in what should be easy.
He literally explodes with magick when upset. His feelings being too much for his mind and body and exploding outward.
his mentor expects the world. He has no idea how to achive that expectation.
Is this intentional? Idk, but his going off is like. THE description of how my autistic meltdowns feel.
I relate to him so much genuinely. Iām not neurodivergent to my knowledge but I relate to his anger and emotion disregulation so much. And going from being seen as accomplished to not knowing who you are at all. And his struggle with his wings and body image in awtwb. I love him so much.
Sort of a personal vent, but in relation to Carry On.
Sometimes I hate reading. I donāt know how to describe it, but the pain and dread I get from fiction is like worse than real life.
I do struggle w anhedonia & alexithymia so maybe that is why?
But itās like books make me feel this weird sort of dread that creeps up on you until your start sobbing. It feels sort of like before a thunderstorm where all the clouds go funny colored & the air gets still & all the birds go silent. And you know something bad is about to happen, but donāt know what.
I hate it. Sucks that I love book characters so much. Canāt even read my favorite books because I get physically ill.
The Simon Snow Trilogy is so important to me. I relate to Simon so much. I relate to Baz so much.
Thereās a unique sort of grief in not having a parent. And having one who left. And having one whoās dying. And I donāt think it is something you can understand unless you go through it.
I havenāt spoke to my bio father since I was nine. He was a terrible person. But I see myself in him. I feel alien in my family. But I donāt remember what he looked like. Or how his voice sounds. Or what color his eyes were. All I remember is we had the same birthmark on the left sides of our head. I sort of feel that more when I read Wayward Son.
Same with my stepdad. He has not been nice to many people. He has hurt so many people. But heās dying, and Iām still sad. Heās never hurt me on purpose.
And just the idea that your friends & family would be better without you. Feeling like a burden. Not caring that they care, because thatās too much. Itās easier to push people away, to have them mad at you, than to feel how you affect them. Because you know youāre bad for them, and they just canāt see it.
Or that feeling that youāre just wasted potential.
When Simon was getting used to his wings, it reminded me of when I was recovering from an eating disorder. I projected it into a fic once, Iāll just share an excerpt, not my best, obviously:
I donāt let anyone touch my wings. Not even Penny. She only brushes them when she has to spell them invisible. And even then, I complain. Not because it hurts. It doesnāt. Theyāre just sensitive. Not in a painful way, just ticklish.
I donāt love my wings either. Having them appear felt like learning to walk again, stumbling about like a toddler just discovering their center of gravity.
I bump into things more often. Doorways, chairs, people. Iāve had them for years now. But theyāre still always in the way.
Which sucks, because I actually do like people. Iām a very physically affectionate person. Iād hug my friends all the time if I didnāt feel like I was constantly apologizing for knocking things over. Itās not like I can just get rid of them. Even when theyāre invisible, theyāre still there.
So I keep them to myself. I fold them in as much as I can.
And Simonās emotions. I relate to him so much. The anger that builds up until you explode. Sometimes I feel so hurt and sad that I just start shaking. And I donāt feel safe. And it morphs into anger. And I feel so unstable that I could just throw something or scream. Usually, it results in a nosebleed. Maybe a five mile walk or the punching bag.
The shame Baz felt for wanting Simon also eats at me a lot. Iāve always felt that love is this shameful, disgusting thing. It doesnāt matter what kind it is, it shouldnāt be expressed.
Growing up all I knew is that having a crush is embarrassing, shameful, and that I was selfish for my thoughts. Baz keeping silent all that time isnāt that crazy to me, I had a crush on one of my best friends for five years in high-school. I didnāt tell anyone. I didnāt tell her. I didnāt even let myself think about it. I relate to that a lot.
I just love this series so much, but I struggle to read it because it hurts me too much to read it. It makes my chest ache.
I still haven't fully read the 4th fangirl manga.
I'm such a fake fan ššššššššš
Me core bc I havenāt read them at all. I own them for the snowbaz fics I didnāt even like fangirl. I just found it really boring. Fine writing, just boring. I might give the mangas a shot though, cause I do enjoy graphic novels. (I never reread awtwb and forgot what happened so arguably I MIGHT be the faker fan).
Whenever I open the snowbaz tag to a Taylor Swift themed post, I lose another year off my lifespan.
