Sleepless (an OUAD story) (TRR)
My beloved @drakewalkerrosenberg left me an ask a long time ago asking for some fluffyness for Drake and Riley, so here it is, I’m inspired by TRH coming and that’s the result.
It was one of those nights, a night where he couldn’t sleep, where he would find himself jerking upwards covered in sweat, thinking about her gone, thinking about her gone, all alone, the child they never had.
The bed couldn’t be any softer, the sheets would feel like heaven on his barely covered skin, but nothing in this world would feel like her. Her breath rising her chest in a steady pace, showing him she was lost in sleep, if there was any other time, she would have awakened right after him, soothing all the bad thoughts from him.
But a certain circumstance prevented her from that, as Riley shifted on the mattress he could see the bump on her stomach, a precious sign that alone could calm him.
Her soft brown locks were falling over her face. Drake had seen her mostly in any type of situation.
Fear in her eyes as one of his horses almost trampled her, it was so long ago, but he remembered her frightened expression, her gratitude and the truth in her eyes that made something start to stir inside of him several years ago.
Her eyes shut as her sweet lips opened to gasp for air as he brought her to the brink pf pleasure on that train ride, when he couldn’t deny her body anymore than he could deny her soul.
The tears falling down her face as she sobbed telling him that their long nights intertwined, making a symphony out of moans created a life inside of her, a life that was called back to soon.
The joy on her face as in the first hours of a new year she laid naked in his bed admiring his grandma’s ring finally on her finger.
The face of a resolved woman walking down the aisle, dressed in white like he always imagined Angels would be, saying she was ready to be his for all of her life.
But he had never seen anything quite like her tonight, in that sweet moment of peace where she was again just Riley and he was just Drake, nothing else mattered, just the two of them there in their own world.
He gently moved his hand towards her face to put her hair behind her ear, seeing a wince form on her face, as if his bubble of safety and happiness had just popped.
Riley tossed on the covers and opened her eyes, adjusting to the darkness and meeting his worried eyes staring at her, she smiled through her wince, making him feel a little at more at ease.
“I think we have a football player here.” She reached for his hand and pulled it to her stomach.
He could feel the movement and the small thumps on her fairly stretched skin, his heart starting to race, as Riley adjusted herself laying on her back, he moved closer to her, his arm encircling her midsection as she rested her head on his chest.
Their little bubble of happiness.
