Lawrence sighs before following her orders. The blood finally slows to a stop after a little while, though heâs still suffering from a bit of a chill.
ââTis what happens when a spy captures one of us. Hanging by the neck is the usual punishment.â
His voice falters as his head dips forward a bit onto Helenaâs shoulder. The poor thing is exhausted after coming out of what was probably a post-traumatic stress disorder attack.

âOh, thatâs barbaric. Do I look like a barbarian to you?â
Helena raises an eyebrow in the soldierâs direction. She isnât insulted though. Itâs clear that hanging would be Lawrenceâs fate if he really was captured by the enemy during the Revolutionary War.
âLawrence, no one is going to hang you. Itâs 2016, not 1776. See?â
She pulls out her cellphone with the date displayed on the screen. The cellphone itself may be enough to convince him that heâs indeed in the future.
