Weeks passed since their conversation at the beach during that bleak, sullen afternoon when confessions had been stated and they both danced on eggshells. Things became calm and the everyday routine thieved its way into their days. With it came the feeling of safety and of a false peace. Neither woman noticed that they had become the centre of someone else’s interest and - ultimately - the target of a third party. Neither of them noticed the cars that parked opposite Eve’s home. The ‘Others’ were careful, well prepared and must have thought their actions through.

They used three different cars in turns, took short drives around the corner, avoided eating and drinking in the cars. Anything to make their presence an apparent brief one to hasty glances. Their plan proved successful and by the end of the time they gave themselves for observations, they had a perfect movement profile of target “Alpha”.  It didn’t take long to figure out when the right moment to strike would be. Her clinging to her routine and the fact that she used a bicycle to get from A to B made her an easy mark.
