Some of my favorite SNES hidden gems (will probably update this later):

1. Terranigma (RPG that would appeal to Secret of Mana fans)

2. Psycho Dream (Castlevania meets Contra meets bad acid trip in Tokyo)

3. Pocky & Rocky 2 (quirky 2P top down run-n-gun set in feudal Japan)

4. Wild Guns (wave shooter set in wild west with robots & 2P co-op madness)

5. DoReMi Fantasy (cute fantasy platformer with strange ambient music)

6. Gundam Wing: Endless Duel (hidden? maybe not. great fucking game tho)

7. Axelay (Konami shmup in mode 7 galore. just wish it was 2P!)

8. Metal Warriors (Lucas Arts mech run-n-gun with a fantastic 2P battle mode)

9. Ganbare Goemon 2 (can’t go wrong with more 2P co-op ninja goodness)

10. Sonic Blastman 2 (co-op beat em up with tokusatsu vibes)

Honorable mentions that are still somewhat underrated IMO would be: Metal Combat, Twin Bee Rainbow Adventure, Hagane, Battle Tycoon, Joe & Mac 2,  Power Rangers fighting game & Ghost Sweeper Mikami. There’s also Kaizou Choujin Shubibinman Zero & the F-Zero / Zelda spinoff games available only on the Satellaview cable network in Japan. Out of this list I’m sure you’ll find new reasons to love your SNES ;)

I love how the 5e corebook is very clear about how dragonborn do not have tails and literally every player and DM since has unilaterally said “That’s fucking dumb give them a tail :/”

I remember back in 3e and 3.5 when the descriptions of Tieflings emphasized how subtle their demonic features were supposed to be and all of my friends and I made Tieflings who were like “yeah I’ve got giant black horns and red claws and a barbed tail, what’s your fuckin’ problem?”
