Hey. Hey you. Yes you, stranger on the internet.
You deserve good things. You deserve joy. And kindness. And contentment. You deserve a bowl of soup and a comfy chair and a fuzzy blanket.
It's okay to prioritize yourself.
You are enough.

Some people might wonder "how did it take you so long to get diagnosed with autism?"
Well children, when I was tiny, it was a common belief that girls couldn't have autism
But even more damning (and funny) is the fact that my brother had a special interest as soon as he became aware of his surroundings. His first special interest? The yellow lines on the highway. He would open car doors /While On The Highway/ so he could look at them better. He'd scream if he could see them out the window but couldn't open the door for a closer look. My whole family had to buy mini vans so that they could put him in the middle of the back seat so he couldn't look at the damn yellow lines on the highway
So that's what I was competing with
The signs were there, it's just that the other guy had air horns on his.
My autism was a standard traffic sign
His was a neon flashing advertisement of the DSM
I'm so sorry you lost at autism, bat
He stopped crying and making noises at night ridiculously early on because he didn't want mom to pick him up! I never stood a chance! 😭
Just want to say that I think about these tags at least once a week. I should change his ringtone to boss music
Today’s the day you can reblog this

you don’t realize how important lunch is until you’re wandering around thinking about how unloveable and untalented and uniquely cursed you are and then it’s 4pm and you finally eat lunch and you go Oh. oh right.

Struggling bc on one hand, I’m so happy my cats love me and want to be touching me at all times. I know not everyone has clingy cats and I feel so lucky. On the other, I’m so overstimulated. I wanna rip my skin off.

For everyone who ‘used to love reading’ but now hasn’t finished a book in years, you CAN get it back. Genuinely start bringing a book (preferably short and either fiction or a non fiction topic you already really enjoy) everywhere you go and when you have 5-20 mins waiting for the bus or at the doctors office or mechanic or whatever, get out your book and read it! You don’t have to finish it quickly or even read it often but it is so good for your brain and fun to get into the habit of reading more (and replacing being on your phone for those moments). Source: I read 0 books in 2023 and I’ve read 12 in the first 4 months of 2026
