i'm never leaving this fucking site i stg i love you all.
OK
final one
for all the marbles,
this one doesn't have an illustration bc i think it was just a kids novel but i haven't been able to find ANYTHING about it on my occasional internet queries:
kids is staying with his (grandmother?) in the woods and she warns him not to look a fox in the eyes bc they're tricksy and will swap places with you. obviously that's the first thing the little boy does and gets body snatched by a fox who uhhhh proceeds to pig out with his new little boy human hands and the boy has to trick the fox into looking him in the eyes again to switch back...
thats all i got, it's an older book i wanna say from the 60's?? 70's?? kinda the same jist of "Little Rascal"
Reblog this post :) Especially if youâre on mobile, youâll lose the post if you click the link without thinking. Take a note from your elders before you
Interesting note: It definitely uses whoever you're following now, not at that date. Even the 2020 one includes a lot of people I was absolutely not following yet in Feb 2020, which is actually kind of cool, I can see what they were reblogging from this fandom before I got into it.
Sucks how many people were taught that "horses put their ears back when they're mad" but then never taught the difference between "angry backwards ears," "mildly annoyed backwards ears," "pain backwards ears," "concentrated backwards ears," "sleepy backwards ears" and "just happens to be listening to something behind it."
"Horses put their ears back when they're mad" idk man i think it depends
Actually, I wanna talk about the third horse, the one putting its ears back in pain. Over the last 15 years veterinarians and animal scientists have worked out pain scales for most domestic animals by taking photos of the during routine procedures.
We know vaccines painful, and by comparing horses at rest with horses getting vaccinated, we've been able to determine how they express pain visually. By looking at horses with disorders like colic, broken bones, wounds, and so on, we can determine their facial expressions during more severe pain.
At zookeeper school we were drilled through the pain faces of the most common lab animals and livestock. Nowadays I believe this has become a routine lesson in all animal related fields, but the general public still doesn't know that this is a thing that exists.
Here are all the pain face/grimace scales I've been able to find. Please study them if you interact with any of these animals on a regular basis:
Oh man I love this artist! Here's what that sculpture looked like before the feathers were added:
If you've seen any pictures of "real living dinosaurs" online in the last 5 years, there's like a 90% chance it was actually one of Archesuchus's works:
I recently came into possession of the Lupin III LaserDisc box sets for Parts 1, 2, and 3âŠ. So naturally, I had to scan all the booklets and jacket art.
Iâll post images of cover art here in this post, but Iâll also post a Google Drive link containing EVERYTHING I scanned. It can be found here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1X4AII4mSQseaz24xx0wuTr7TFMd4X3cr
If I ever share anything that was AI generated it is purely by accident. I hate that it's getting harder and harder to tell and it makes me want to never use the internet again. It definitely had its faults, but man I miss the internet of the 2000s so much.
theres a popular brand in canada called no name brand and it manufactures everything you can imagine in a grocery store and it kind of makes me feel like im in a world no one bothered to do much world building for
An au i came up with, the roaring dragon. The knight isnât the only one whose roaring anymore.
In this au susie basically looses her light giving it to three of her friends to save them and ends up becoming this after falling into the grand dark fountain. She protects the fountains and has to be convinced to let them be closed. I have a whole doc on it if people want to know more. But basically she looses all of her memories but the feelings of the memory remain.
Big theory about deltarune gonna put stuff under a read more but ill give some bullet points to summerize
-kris is trying to remain disconnected emotionally from the player, and is being abused/blackmailed for what happened to dess. And is trying to keep noelle out of it.
- carol is the roaring knight
- dess has 50/50 being alive
- susie is standing where noelle should be. And recently learned something that is causing internal struggles of people not telling her the full story.
- asgore had an inkling about what happened to dess, but nobody believed him and now heâs finding out more about it.
- gaster is pulling all the strings to get the titans to appear to destroy everything so he can control this timeline.
Kris is very much in trouble/being forced to do things, and is slowly trying to find a way to subvert it. They know what happened to dess, yet theyâre being forced to keep quiet about it. You see after watching and rewatching streamers, around chapter 1 and 2 many of the town residents seem to care about kris and there was a moment of one telling kris itâs not their fault. As well as trying to remind kris of all the good times before dess disappeared, now why is this? It is not just trying to get them back to the old kris, but something else as well. Trying to make them understand itâs not their fault.
Kris blames themselves for dessâs disappearance, and someone else very much does as well, aka Carol. Before we get into Carol, how did Dess disappear? I believe Dess and Kris discovered the dark world and would go on adventures together, itâs stated kris and dess would hang out regularly without the other two. And they got into a situation they couldnât escape, so dess being the older one sacrificed themselves so kris could get away. Though Kris sought help, the town didnât believe them, and searched all the wrong places and the portal that dess was in was closed. The only two that believed Kris were Asgore, and Carol. And being a strict parent, the mayor who probably knows the dark secret of the dark fountains and how dess found out about them, started manipulating things to cover it up.
While the whole town was trying to find dess in the woods, Carol was probably already enacting to hide the truth and find a way to get Dess back. Asgore, one or another, found out about the dark fountains or believed Kris, while everyone else didnât. This is probably what led to fighting and divorce in the dreemur family, it might be a running theme that a child gone, leads to Toriel and Asgore to fight and divorce. And due to this fighting, Kris slipped away from them and directly into Carolâs hands. One where she is emotionally manipulating this poor child, making them promise that they need to fix this mess but theyâll help them. And thus began making more dark fountains, closing them. and experimenting with them to try and find dess.
As this goes on, Kris begins to shut down emotionally more and more. Not only do they have no one on their side, but they have someone emotionally abusing them. And theyâre taking the blunt of it to protect Noelle, because with how Carol treats her own daughter, no doubt Kris is trying to prevent Noelle from suffering the same treatment. One of the final nail in the coffin before everything, castle town. A more permanent dark fountain realm, but it was always empty when we first encounter it besides Ralsei. And I believe Carol went in and slaughtered everyone there, and this is so she can increase L.o.V.e, aka level of violence as everyone else seems to be stuck at LV 1.
The other one, they both saw the prophecy by opening a dark fountain in the church in the past. Now Gerson wasnât there yet, as his ashes werenât. But Carol saw the one about a caged soul, and one about Noelle. And probably the only reason why she left Ralsei alive, sheâs trying to follow the prophecy but twist it to work in her favor. And commanded Kris to not only be the puppet for the soul, but find someone to replace Noelle. Kris having no choice looks all over to find out how and who would be a good replacement, he used the ritual from catti to try and summon a soul, any soul would do. But instead they intercepted the player, who was being given an empty vessel by gaster at the time. As well as the true hero of prophecy, where we were supposed to be our own person but Kris called upon us. A bit of help and a bit of trapping was their call.
Itâs why Kris will disobey us sometimes, and not listen to us. When they can muster up the determination to fight us, they separate us from them to prevent us from screwing up Carolâs plans. But due to a player having a shit ton of determination, we are slowly either erasing Kris or combining with them. But otherwise Kris is tired and giving up, and soon enough it will be all over once the roaring knight takes our soul to give to Dess, and if they keep themselves disconnected they wonât feel as much guilt. The only true way a darkner can become a lightner is by having oneâs soul. Something that seems to be forgotten in deltarune world that is common knowledge in undertale, is that souls can be absorbed, so we are literally being used to bring someone back, and we are not being given a choice but to go along.
And then thereâs Susie, Noelleâs replacement. In the beginning Kris chose them, because itâs implied Susie is homeless abandoned by her mother. The whole town sees her as a troublemaker, so who would miss poor Susie if something happened to her? But hereâs the thing, Susie is damn well filled with determination and going things her way. And is beginning to be a thorn in the plan, and Ralsei is encouraging it, wanting⊠hoping Susie can break the prophecy and free them from the horrors. And Gerson even believes that Susie can change things, because sheâs stubborn and wants to do the right thing. And Kris is slowly becoming true friends and opening up to Susie, and will eventually cause an internal struggle with Kris.
Then Susie saw the final piece, one that she shatters before letting us see it. Which tells me she may have gotten a hint that the player exists now, and as much as she wants to believe she and kris are friends. If she finds out Kris used her in the beginning and finds out more about the player may cause her to question everything, and either to turn on Kris. Or Abandon the crew to go off on her own to try and solve the problem herself. At which point we the player may detach from Kris and go to Susie who will finally fully hear us, as weâll be more aligned with her justice.
Meanwhile Asgore caught on to Carol talking and spending more time with Kris. And he probably found that suspicious, so since the town believes he is an idiot he used it to his advantage to be Carolâs maid. He is investigating things himself, trying to catch very few slip ups that Carol might make. Not realizing she may have caught on and left a trap, the crystal the bonus bosses have. Often given by the roaring knight, no way Asgore could get this unless the roaring knight is a lightner! And Carol probably wants to punish both Asgore and Toriel, not only are they somewhat neglecting Kris in her eyes. She also probably blames them for Asriel helping Dess be rebellious, and other events leading to Dessâs fate. She is the type of parent to be really strict and controlling. Everything must follow her plan and be perfect. Asriel may be at risk when he returns home.
She almost got away with taking toriel, until Undyne intervened. Because I had a feeling that carol instructed Kris, it was time to punish Toriel for continuing her aggression towards Asgore. Because it hurts a kid if they see one parent be so nasty to another one, even in divorce because that kid starts to feel they could eventually be on the receiving end of that. And it doesnât help Toriel is interacting with sans and flirting, moving on so quickly while pretending Asgore doesnât exist. Makes a child feel like âthat could eventually be me.â It especially hurt with the alcohol and kris looking away, im sure there has been more than one night of Toriel getting drunk and forgetting to feed Kris dinner and keeping them up all night.
Meanwhile I have a feeling gaster is pulling all the strings, having his own dark fountain and a lab in the bunker. Where we were originally supposed to start, now I donât know Gasterâs motives. But I have a feeling itâs one of control, and heâs watching us to see how two souls are technically in control of one body. (I mean how else is kris supposed to survive after ripping us out?) As well as wanting the titans to come out and destroy everything, to wipe this timeline clean so he can control the timeline. What better way than to watch these fools try and bring someone back so desperately. As well as seeing what the dark fountains can do, as gaster was looking to prolong monster life and bring monsters back from the brink of death. Determination was too powerful when extracted, but what about a whole new world that brings objects to life. Especially considering ash is an object.
And dess, poor dess the whole catalytic to this. Theirâs either a chance she is alive, surviving the ordeal cause she was the one who closed the portal to prevent something escaping. She could be dead and became a darkner that is now lost as she is connected to no home, but stuck where the darkest place is that creates titans. Or her ashes stuck somewhere. Or worst comes to worst, Gaster is holding her hostage, awaiting us âtheir helper/experimentâ to return them and demand Kris to give us back. But my headcanon, Dess is alive still, but down where the titans are, trying to keep them sealed. Her soul slowly twisting into something unknown, perhaps becoming a titan herself. And she is going to fucking flip the fuck out at her mom for all the damage she caused as well as yelling at the dreemurs as well for all the damage Kris is suffering. And Gaster may be helping her, as he seems like the guy who doesnât believe in prophecies and would rather break em for fun.
