i just got a crazy idea...... and this is primarily inspired by the ffx*v community but... how would we feel about a w101 art party?
picking a date and time, an in-game location and realm and everyone just hangs out together and draws each other?? maybe even a theme??? JDHFSDJFHSDFDSJHK I JUST KNOW THT IVE HAD FUNS AT ART PARTIES MYSELF SO I FIGURED MAYBE, WIZBLR WOULD BE INTRIGUED.... discuss amongst urselves below...
@aggressivebibliophile made a post that theorized that since Nolan Stormgate's surname is Stormgate his parents might be pirates. This is due to the fact stormgate is the term for whirlpools that allows pirates to travel to other worlds in the Spiral. I started to think more about this possibility, and I think it explains a lot of Nolan's behavior.
Why is Nolan Stormgate a bit of an ass? He was raised by pirates, where you have to be bit of an ass to survive. He is doing what he was taught to do to gain honor and prestige, including trying to take credit for your actions because that is how it is done on the seas.
Why does he look up to Cyrus Drake? He is the meanest professor there, which obviously means he is the best pirate. He probably wouldn't blink at Cyrus sending us for his laundry because Nolan probably served as the unofficial cabin boy and he is use to tasks like that and sees it as Cyrus considering him reliable.
Why is he a myth wizard? He believes minions are just the wizard version of a crew, and he enjoys the company. He may even use minions because he misses his extended family.
Why doesn't he help out on Cyclops Lane? He was taught that the captain goes down with the ship, and that he should be the last person to leave if things go wrong. He is protecting the ship (the fairgrounds) and isn't going to leave it until the monsters encroach onto it because that is what he was taught to do.
Why does he send you to help out the other students? The other part of the captain goes down with his ship is to focus on saving the crew! He can't leave the ship, but he knows you are capable and sends you to do it instead. He just does it with an attitude.
The more I think about it, the more it just makes sense to me.
I LOVE THIS!!! I absolutely was NOT thinking this hard when I made the post but I’m embracing that theory even harder now. He’s still an ass but he’s much more likable and unique now

“To start off with, she’s from Lemuria— she’s from HEAP, even. The objectively coolest zone. She’s drinking cocktails on a fainting couch in the upper crust of Noir City. Secondly, she tried to be hero when no one else did. Oh wait- WRONG someone else also tried and they got together and were crime fighting lesbians together. After her partner died she stopped being a hero to cope but pobodys nerfect. She went on with her life but she kept up her sense of Justice by adopting a boy she found abandoned, who’s now a nurse doing his own brand of heroism (and he’s the biological son of Darla’s ex-fiancé before she came out— the drama!!!!!!) and now, even though she never took off in heroics to a status dog and Tessa would reach, she still tries to do what’s right through philanthropist work to give back to the more struggling parts of the city. Despite everything, her hearts always in the right place, and even if she can be hard-headed, avoidant of verbal confrontation, and.. well, pun intended, catty. She still holds a soft spot for the city- and people- she loves.”

“I cannot say Sierra is cool because she is not. She’s kind of lame. She’s a Savior OC, but in a burnout, depressed, emo Linkin Park and Radiohead listener sort of way. She’s a Nimbari who wasn’t originally the Savior but was traveling with the Savior (A myth wizard named Phoebe) until said Savior got #Slayed by Morganthe. So she had to deal with that while continuing on her work. Also she was kind of girlbossed by Spider for a while specifically to free him. Like how Raven is the narrator, but he was the narrator for Sierra.
Outside of being Spiral Burnout #1 Sierra also is pretty good at using technomancy magic.”

She used her grizzleheim upbringing to self-teach herself myth magic since it wasn’t one of the schools with the most focus in dragonspyre, and then she accidentally time-travelled 100 years in the future and tried to use myth’s ability to make stories and legends real to bring her old world back. And then she failed! It’s all very epic and cool please vote for her

His tomb gets raided by some Marleybonians and his casket brought to Cool Ranch where they think if they start some kind of new showcase there they can make a quick buck. But oops! Mummy incident! He's back and real mad at these guys and don't worry he does deal with them, but afterwards hes still kind of just in this new place now but rather than be upset about it he goes. well when in Rome. and becomes a cowboy. So he's an undead cowboy prince who hates the British and idk that's pretty cool. He's even transgender"
Wood/Woodie/Woodrow (species: construct, by @aberrantparadox, art by @kurofae)
"Woodrow isn't a human, and Woodie isn't a person, though they do like to roleplay as one. Are they cool? What are they? They aren't even sure. Woodie, Woodrow.... they're not even the being's names, simply names extrapolated from the common answer they give to the question of they are ("....uhm....I'm wood"). They're human shaped but not human looking, with a human heart but not human emotions, they're a machine in a literal sense but also a metaphorical one as they do do their duty as told, but they're also doing it of their free will - theyre certainly a thinking person but they aren't. It would be wrong though to say they're looking for real personhood, though, or to be utterly rid of personhood also - they're searching for something beyond that, and beyond the spiral too, they think. Something like the jungle of stardust they always see in their "dreams".
There's the factual part - as in, they're a wood mannequin made by Merle Ambrose to fight off Malistaire and other threats. Well, they're actually just plucked from Golem Tower and altered. Their concept was brought up before Malistaire went rogue, and then abandoned. Woodie is the golem, and the magic possessing it, and the heart of the fallen champion of Bartleby, and the heads. He is also none of these at any given time. It isn't his heart - it lives in their chest cavity with all their gears, things that belong to them, indubitably, and is theirs, as much as their heads are or aren't.
Their heads - each professor made a different swappable head distinctly tuned to their school of magic, so that their new champion could perfectly and easily master all the schools. They're necessary to channel the magic inherent in other tools, for someone/thing who otherwise has no magic within them. Each head feels different to use for Woodrow, gives different consequences and a different mindset, but the spirit doesn't become different beings, unless you define a being by its personality and magical energy - a common definition. Woodrow leaves it open.
They can see out of any of the heads, or all at the same time, having 7-fold (and eventually 9-fold) vision. They don't need any attached to their body to move, think, or function, but they do need them to cast spells, and when in the field its better to keep at least one head attached just in case. Their weird sight also lets them see stranger things, like invisible beings, currents of magic, and other phenomena. They can't gape at any of that though, because they don't have a face, and they wouldnt anyway, because they came into the world that way and none of this is surprising. But it is a bit lonely.
Feelings are difficult when youre made of wood and don't have human sensations. Most emotions Woodie experiences are muted and overlaid with boredom or a sort of diffuse nothingness. But occasionally they do feel something properly, and that is the most vast thing in the world to them. They deeply care about other beings and will readily use violence to keep the majority safe. They're unsympathetic to those who hurt others out of hurt, but aren't cruel. Every being, secure in their self, breathing with lungs and gills and magic, even the evil ones, are a wonder to Woodrow, and like the person who once had his-but-not-his heart, protecting those beings in their perfect imperfection - just to look at them - just to look at them, it's everything, just to look at them...."
"he is a CATALAN for starters!!! Fucking cool ass monster spell also hes sooo cute and silly. He learned magic and likes to disguise himself around humans (his name is for his human disguise. He wont tell you his real name hes not about to fuck with that) to watch how weird they are but also cause a bit of goofy behavior.. and to practice with fun makeup :P Hes also actually a pretty wimpy catalan comparatively. Like if you summoned him in battle he would have like idk 60 DPP so shit. But hes just so cute."

"I think Julia is pretty cool cause she was born in another world(my original world Faraway :D) and was brought to the Spiral, specifically Dragonspyre right before its fall, during her bio dads’ honeymoon! Julia was then separated from her parents during the fall of DSpyre, and was adopted by Malistaire and Sylvia Drake.
Julia is also an EPIC MYTH WIZARD(stan Cyrus Drake) who was able to dabble in astral magic early when she was young, mostly to hide her true appearance after Sylvia died because she desperately wanted to believe that she was biologically Mali and Sylvia’s kid. After tons of le epic trauma, in arc 3 Julia stops giving a damn about appearances since there’s no longer any point in hiding the fact that she isn’t from the Spiral. So the pic of her I sent is arc 3 Julia 😎
He unique spell is being able to summon doll replicas of herself which belong to different schools of magic, and being able to fuse the dolls into one big four armed monster wolf doll automaton JEJEJEJE"
