He wanted to give Phillip a glamourous life, so he got a big-name job, and then started embezzling funds

he was arrested and then broke out TWICE MORE and kept busting out

then he was arrested again, and the above happened

while he was on the run from this, he was determined to get Phillip (who was in trouble for harboring him) out of prison so he pretended to be a lawyer and hit up Phillip’s jail 24/7. He tried to get Phillip moved to a prison closer to where he was hiding so he couLD VISIT HIM

AND THEN he made a fake identity and tried to get a 75k loan, and was arrested AGAIN, but he FAKED A HEART ATTACK AND LEFT BEFORE HE WAS EVEN PLACED IN PRISON AGAIN

I love the fact that more and more people with a millennial mind frame are getting old enough to properly voice these opinions.

I read a brilliant article the other day discussing how young people today aren’t over-entitled in the work place…they/we just refuse to accept abusive behaviors as acceptable management techniques.

I always go back to my librarian-ness and the roots of so many things being the product of the information boom that is the internet. The most recent similar boom in history was the Gutenberg press exploding literacy on the whole thanks to mass print being available. The innumerable repercussions of that advancement in human civilization are in progress again with the ago of the internet. Consider the fact that Western civilization was in the unequivocal thrall of the Catholic Church without question prior to the availability of print, which lead to the Bible being translated from Latin. That the Protestant reformation happened (i.e. Any non-Catholic Christianity and subset culture of that Christianity) at all was only possible (even as mere abstract ideas in the founders’ minds’ eyes) because people could relatively suddenly actually read the words of the Bible themselves. And then have new opinions. And then make changes to their civilization.

I believe the old way of thought that this generation most challenges with their new found access to information is illustrated well with what these memes are saying. I most especially love the last one, in conjunction with that article I mentioned before I started ranting about history and information science. The internet, among an infinity of other things, allows people to relatively privately access the internal struggles of others. Knowing you’re not alone in those struggles results in feeling confident about things like, “My employer treats me like shit and I refuse to accept that. There has to be a better way.”
