What's your relationship with Laurent?
He did not reply, all round brown eyes and mouth flattened somewhere between frown and smile.
"Why are you so interested in us?"
Daniel looked at the young faced vampire with full focus, but then his violet eyes darted around the both of them, seemingly slightly worried. Eyes fixed on the ancient again then. He hesitated for a long while in silence, but then spoke silently. “Are you alone?“
The young vampire's uncertainty broke his heart. He wanted to apologize. He moved quietly, to sit down across from Daniel, adjusting his long coat. "Yes. I would not visit if I weren't."
Daniel remained quite wide eyed, especially when the youth sat down across from him. His heartbeat had picked up significantly and he sat unnaturally still.
It all felt like some strange fever dream, to be approached by this creature. This ancient that carried such odd gentleness not only by the false pretense of young features, but also in his heart, it seemed. He was so different from Armand and yet Benedict held that same weapon of a misguiding face of innocents. How much blood... How many lives... And not only that. Looking around earlier was not even just about the threat of Rhoshamandes, but also those of his own coven. Here he was, sitting opposite the enemy... and yet.... he wanted nothing more than this. Danger had always been his downfall. Well. Let this one be worth it then. “I can answer your question,“ he started, forgetting to speak up, carrying it on nothing but a whisper. “But I don’t want to insult you.“ the words held no ill will nor, indeed, a desire to do so.
The young man had such an eloquence of sadness about him -- a tiredness, even in his deadness. Just as Rhoshamandes had that elegance of Old Violence, just as Everard had the sleek coolness of a river-stone, just as he, himself had --
Well, what did he have?
Benedict could tell the other’s -- Daniel, Molloy -- uncertainty like the paled scent of his hair and flesh. Of other blood drinker’s Marks. Benedict nodded vaguely, to whatever Mr. Molloy had said. Hands, settling in his lap as he sat, peering at the poor trapped thing like a butterfly caught in a bush.
“Oh, that’s not a concern,” he said then. His own voice, cinched, lower, just as uncertain-- “I’ve read all the books, anyway.”

If Rhoshamandes were not cruel to you, would you still love him?
“’Still’? Have I ever?“ he said with a raise of a dark eyebrow. “Fine. I will humour you. I could have. Possibly. It was, after all, his discarding attitude that was grossly unbecoming.“
A smile ghosted along his face; but his eyes, his glance, was sweetly sad and subdued. “‘Have you ever,’ you ask, as if you don’t at all.”
“Ah.“ the Frenchman uttered a bit stiffly. “I could have known that was you.“ he added, pulling his shirt cuffs straight. “Do you ever wonder if an answer even matters? Isn’t it enough for you to just run with what you believe or wish to believe?“
The smile hovered, pinned to his mouth by the sharp words. Dark eyes, holding on Everard, round and deep. "I think it always matters. If it didn't, you would not be here." There was a pause, a breath. Then: "What do you believe, Everard?"

Benedict’s head tipped just vaguely; a little look from the corner of his eye, a swipe of the hand to clear his face of loose dark curls. “What is the topic?”
Rhoshamandes entered his wide bathroom, his back facing his fledgling as he spoke from over his shoulder, discarding the black robe on the marble floor: “Whichever you would prefer, but human politics. I have no desire to meddle with such foolishness.” He entered the hot waters with a pleased exhale, his strong body submerging inside it as he accommodated himself there. Rhosh gave Benedict a glance, blue eyes lidded, a silent beckon.
“Come.”
Benedict followed, brightened, and filing through his mind for a proper subject. Eyes, passing over the graceful lines of muscle and strength at Rhosh's revealed figure. Himself, still dressed, approaching the bathside. "Morality?" he asked. No, Rhosh was not built for that discussion. "Nature. Thought and psyche? Mythology?"
How many lovers have you had on the side?
“Can we not discuss it?”
everarddelanden:
“Oh, please can we?“ he said painfully sweetly, resting his own chin in his hand palm. “I want all the juicy details.“
Rhoshamandes said nothing, standing with observant eyes and a single arch of a blonde brow.

Benedict’s brow knotted; his eyes flitted from Everard to Rhoshamandes and back. “You know much more than you are saying, Everard, so why ask?”
“I missed a couple of centuries, Benedict.“ he said, pretending to ignore Rhoshamandes’ presence, which was in truth quite impossible. But he kept his dark eyes on the youth and gave a sweet smile.
Blood hummed briefly under his cheeks. "Everard, that -- " He frowned, deeper, shrinking into himself a bit. "We can discuss it some other time."

The frown lingered on his face, dark eyes flicking around Rhosh’s as the elder one spoke. Honey skin, honey voice. How right he always was. At that last bit, though, Benedict perked.
“Yes,” he said eagerly. “I would.”
A ghost of a short smile crossed his lips, a low ‘very well’ being murmured past them.
“I intended to go for a bath, will you join me? I may indulge you on this matter further, if that’s what you would like.”
Benedict’s head tipped just vaguely; a little look from the corner of his eye, a swipe of the hand to clear his face of loose dark curls. “What is the topic?”
agnusdeisanctus:
“Last night – we talked hypotheticals and philosophy for hours. Though, I guess – now that I think back on it – you were just listening to me.”
“Philosophy is different; distinct rules apply to intangible matters. It’s futile to discuss ‘what if’s’ where there are actions which could be taken in place, that’s what I implied, though I understand it did not come as clear as I thought.” A faint brush of the side of his finger graced Benedict’s cheek, the tip tilting his chin up whilst he hummed in contemplation. “Would you rather that I offered my input next time?”

“Don’t lie! You did not say that last night, Rhosh.”
“I am not lying, Benedict. What are you referring yourself to?”
“Last night -- we talked hypotheticals and philosophy for hours. Though, I guess -- now that I think back on it -- you were just listening to me.”
If a movie of your life was being made and you could choose the director, who would you choose and why? (no, you can't stop the movie from being made, just answer the question)
“The Director of that ‘Midsomar’ film! It was so beautiful!”
How many lovers have you had on the side?
“Can we not discuss it?”
"Have you ever made out with a woman?
Flustered, and flushing faintly -- “Yes, Everard, you know that. Why would you ask?”
Are you excited to spend Christmas with Rhosh?
“Of course I am!” He laughed lightly. “He gets very grumpy. He says he hates it. But I know he likes to see me happy.”
Do you keep a journal? What was your last entry about?
“I...do.” His brow drew together in a gentle divot, soft brown eyes sweeping elsewhere. “My last entry was a long time ago, though.”
