Artist Cesar Garcia's show ended in March, but his work "Cometa" just sold a few hours ago! Cesar Garcia, born in Bogota, Columbia, has been creating artwork since his adolescent years. Eschewing the typical artistic path, Garcia studied engineering at the National University of Colombia where he became fascinated with architecture, specifically the work of modern and neo-futuristic architects like Antoni Gaudí, Oscar Niemeyer, and Zaha Hadid. #ArtNews! French mechanic Ahmed Ziani purchased a $700 artwork that he believed to be a work by a lesser 18th-century artist, Vernet. He thought the work was unsigned but following further investigation by Ziani and his 11-year-old son, they found what appears to be the signature of Renoir, and the date it was painted. The work was listed in the French classifieds website Le Bon Coin. Experts are now trying to authenticate the work, which could take many months. It has been confirmed the pigments, framework and canvas are the same as those used by Renoir at the time the discovered work is dated. The main focus of Claude MacBurnie's recent work has been the original flying machines: hot air balloons. He has created a series of images giving us a poetic vision of balloons from LMAB, the Lorraine Mondial Air Balloons, the world’s largest event devoted to ballooning, with participants from around the world. MacBurnie says that his goal in photographing the preparation of the balloons and the balloons in flight is to highlight what he calls “the two essential elements” which give ballooning its power and life: air and fire. "For my series shown in Agora Gallery’s 2016 Illumination exhibition," says Goodash, "I traveled to the old city, Jerusalem, in search of spiritual illumination, and so my artworks relate to various aspects of this historical city that was built on the roots of Christianity Judaism and Islam." He calls his unique blend of painting and photography a “photodraw.” Born Gideon Spiegel, Goodash begins by drawing, painting, or scratching an image. He then takes a photograph of that hand-made work and blends it with existing photographic images, also of his own taking. Lastly, he prints it digitally on a canvas. The final product is in effect a multimedia work. Inspired by the Greco-Roman art of his native Italy, Paolo Canciani is a classical modernist who paints ancient sculpture as if it was human and humans as if they were classical sculpture.
