Idk about you all, but I would LOVE more scenes where Qifrey and Olruggio fight together. That one part during the Silver Eve arc, where they summoned an epic dragon, lives rent-free in my head, and I wholeheartedly believe that it is the coolest thing in the entire series by far when it comes to action scenes.
'Orufrey isn't canon!'
It's literally implied that the other kids teased them by calling them a couple when they switched their hat accessories.
Furthermore, Olruggio seems pretty frustrated that nothing ever came out of him and Qifrey because the teasing made things awkward between them.
And don't even get me started on how their relationship is often compared to a ROMANTIC love story through symbolism.
I've seen enough queer bait throughout the years to confidently say that there will probably be some kind of romance between Qifrey and Olruggio. Will they officially date? It's hard to say. But will there be some sort of love confession? Definitely. It may be more subtle than your typical confession, but it will probably exist at some point.
I'm pulling this theory straight out of my bum, but could Tetia and Qifrey be related?
We know little to nothing about Tetia, and Qifrey was also mostly mysterious until recently. What if the author hasn't revealed Tetia's backstory because it is in some ways intertwined with Qifrey's? Perhaps Qifrey's story had to be told first for Tetia's to make sense.
This doesn't automatically mean that they have to be family. But it would be interesting.
They could be siblings. Or cousins. Or uncle and niece.
Maybe Qifrey did manage to find out more about his past, and that led him to Tetia. He decided to take her in as an apprentice as a form of protecting her from the brimhats and getting more information. Similarly to how he did with Coco.
Could Tetia also be a silverwood host? If yes, have her memories been erased to keep the tree at bay?
Was she the subject of forbidden magic 4 years ago when it was last publicly (?) used before Coco did it again?
APPARENTLY MALE WITCHES DONT WEAR FLOWY PANTS BUT SKIRTS??? HOW DID I MISS THIS!?!?!?
I was looking at Euini's design and realised that he had a skirt rather than flowy pants. I thought it was pretty cool and wondered if he was the only guy with one. He wasn't. In fact, everyone with flowy pants is actually wearing a skirt.
Why did I even think that those were pants??? Sure, some panels show a slit down the middle, but the same slit is also present when it comes to dresses.
My love for this story just tripled in size. We've got a bunch of guys running around in skirts. That's incredible.
Kitchen is meant to be some wholesome side story. Unless you know about the tree thing. Then it's still some wholesome side story but with a layer of sadness that hits you like a truck.
He was so proud of his girls for passing the second test that he had to get himself wet in order to stop the tree from taking over.
I like to believe that brushbuddies fight by either doing the helicopter with their tail or playing a round of slither.io
I love the WHA fandom. Most of the people in it are very cool. But something that really bothers me is how people keep referring to Qifrey as 'the mother' or 'wife'.
I totally get why somebody would call him either of those things. He checks a lot of boxes when it comes to the stereotypical traditional woman, despite being a man. However, as funny as it is, it does feel misogynistic.
Why can't we just accept that a man likes cooking and taking care of kids without calling him a woman? Why must some things always be a woman's job?
It's very disappointing when you take a look at the story and realise that the author puts so much effort into challenging social norms only for things like this to occur.
Has Qifrey's shirt situation ever been explained? Is there a reason as to why he sometimes has the white part up?
I originally assumed that it was a fashion thing, but now I'm not so sure about that. His hat having a fold that hides a memory spell makes me believe that the rest of his outfit might also be related to the tree in some way. The white part could be a form of extra coverage. A way to stop people from seeing the roots.
However, I'm not so sure about this theory since the white part only really covers his stomach and lower back, and it wouldn't really make much sense for the tree to travel all the way down there. Especially since we've seen it pop out of his shoulder. Why would it go lower? Maybe the fabric of the black shirt isn't as strong in those areas. I don't know.
Also, what the heck is up with Olruggio's sleeves? The clothing choices in this story are making my head hurt...
Orufrey is cool and all but yall need to hear me out on Qifggio or whatever it's called
He's so cute 🥹🥹🥹 I want to become a knight and protect him from every kind of evil there is 🥹🥹🥹🥹
I wonder if all the mentions of Olruggio taking on apprentices are some form of foreshadowing.
It could just be a way of showing that Olruggio is happy being the watchful eye and doing his own thing, but what if there is more to it?
If Qifrey does end up turning into a tree, or dying, or disappearing, or if pretty much anything happens to him, it would make the most sense for Olruggio to become the girls' new teacher after taking the 5th test.
However, I do believe that it would be a temporary thing if something bad does happen to Qifrey. I personally find the idea of Qifrey dying a bit disappointing after everything he's been through, so if anything, the most likely 'bad' thing that could happen would be him treeing out.
An arc where Olruggio takes over while trying to find a way to turn Qifrey back into a human sounds very interesting. It's also about time that we get more of his perspective.
Oh, and now that I think about it... wasn't the latest chapter focused on Olruggio taking the girls on a trip without Qifrey? Maybe I'm on to something. Or on something. We shall see.
I'm not sure how to put it into words, but something about Qifrey being taller than Olruggio scratches an itch in my brain
I wonder if Qifrey was being careless on purpose back when Coco caught him drawing magic at the start of the story.
I don't remember if he ever directly said it, but it's definitely implied that he doesn't like the idea of gatekeeping magic.
Since a spell meant for fixing carriages likely couldn't cause much harm if somehow memorised, I like to believe that he heard Coco come into the house (?) and decided not to do anything about it.
Perhaps he wanted to start a rumour that would eventually force the witches to be more open when it comes to sharing knowledge of simpler spells that make life easier.
It's also possible that that wasn't his first time allowing an outsider to watch him draw.
...Coco????
Tetia's relationship with Olruggio reminds me of Peppa Pig and her dad. The bullying is BRUTAL.
I keep waiting for WHA to disappoint me, but it never does. I still can't comprehend the fact that I'm consuming a piece of media without constantly having to excuse problematic themes for the sake of enjoying it.
