i saw your confession and was confused by your line of thinking as someone who used to be anti-race changing. can i ask what your opinion is for a few similar situations to the ones you were describing?
for example, what about shifting to be a cis woman in your dr as a cis man in your cr? following your philosophy, that would be morally wrong because men oppress women here. like you said, wouldn’t doing so be disregarding woman’s struggles regardless of if you shift to a reality where sexism exists?
also, what about shifting to be a fictional race? what about shifting to be a na’vi (from the james cameron avatar series)? one could argue that it’s wrong to shift to be a na’vi because the fictional equivalent of that cluster of realities introduces na’vi as a species that is oppressed by humans.

the difference is people do not exoticize being a woman, or being a man.
race changing is wrong because it is rooted in exoticism, or aestheticization of a race.
yes, cisgender woman in this reality are incredibly oppressed for being woman. but, race is different than sex.
race is the value passed down from generation to generation, it represents your ancestors survival through struggle.
sex is determined by chromosomes.
in this society, you are oppressed for being percieved as a woman, as "woman" is a construct based on personal identityy. you are oppressed for being labeled the political label of woman (different than the sociological label of woman). you are also oppressed for not falling into the binary of singularly male and female.
it is an incredibly complex oppression, but in conclusion, race is different than sex. you had an equal oppurtunity to have the opposite set of chromosomes, while race is definite. you will be the race(s) of your parents.
misogyny and sex-oppression stems from colonialism, or otherwise known as racism.
misogyny would not have been so global if it was not for euro-colonialism.
misogyny stems from europeans, the system that oppresses women globally would not have been so widespread if it was not for euro-colonialism.
of course, some cultures would have been misogynistic, but the number of misogynistic cultures would have been significantly less.
for example, in many indigenous cultures, gender was incredibly versatile, and sex oppression barely existed.
race has always been first. of course, a black man oppresses a black woman, or an asian man oppressed an asian women, but there is so much more intersectionality depending on sexual orientation, age, ableness, class, and the sort.
but, during slavery, it did not matter if you were a woman or a man, you would have been oppressed for being black. there were white female slave owners.
in misogyny it is different, let me remind you that in the United States of America, black women recieved the right to vote AFTER white women.
White women have historically had more systemic power over black men, sexism is rooted in racism.
That is why race is different than sex, sexism would have not existed on such a large scale without racism.
Black men can absolutely systemically oppress white women, but in their systemic power they hold much less than a white woman holding systemic power over the black man for being white.

I would consider shifting as a na'vi as immoral.
Let me remind you, the Na'Vi were incredibly inspired by indigenious tribes around the world.
The Avatar series itself is rooted in racism. It uses the white savior trope, as well as intergrating actual race-changing as a concept, and aestheticizing it.
Imagine aliens that are taking over your world, can now become one of you.
Again, it is the intention to shift as a Na'Vi in this reality, knowing your knowledge of the Na'Vi comes from colonialist apologists.
The entire series is an alkegory/metaphor for what the American colonialists did to the Native Americans.
They used biological warfare, spreading diseases the Native Americans could not evolve to combat.
They lied on truces and would invade while Native Americans were under the belief of a truce.
The Native Americans were wiped out for being trusting, being caring, and being honest.
Does that any of that sound similar to you?
