Life's Simplicity; Nature's Beauty...India!!!
I traveled with my Indian family to Corbett Falls about 10 kilometers from Rampur in the state of Uttrakhand. To get to the falls, we had to trek through a narrow path in the one of India's natural forrests. Along the way, we saw monkeys, young indian children resting on grand buffaloes and people from all over India coming to bathe in the waterfall.
Who is A.G. WorldWide?
I am a true cosmopolite; An American globetrotter currently living in the Arab World. I've travelled to and lived on 5 of the 7 continents. If it's God's Will, I will land on all seven. I am cosmopolitan in my thinking and in my life's journey. I am a lady in the rarest form. Organically free. Honest. Intelligent. Educated. Funny. Attractive. Loving. I am an adventurer. I enjoy extreme sports. I skydive. I race motorcycles. I climb mountains. I bungee. I snowboard. I deep sea dive. I've jumped with the Massai in Kenya, spelunked in the caves of Oman, crawled through Pharoh's tomb in Egypt and stood where Moses parted the Red Sea. I've eaten supper in the Sahara with Bedoins and slept in a traditional mud-brick home of a Nubian family in a Nubian village where I have been regarded as one of their own. I ride horses, and I ride camels. I am a modern day explorer. I am comfortable in all social levels. I am able to maneuver through different cultures with ease. I speak different languages. I am driven, a fighter. I am sensitive. I am a friend. I am a listener. I am an advisor. I am strong. I am a woman.
One thing that is true and will never change: I am a Southern Belle, born and reared in the South; The Mississippi Delta. I am a country girl, so running wild and free in the nature is woven in the fabric of my being. I can never forget my roots. This apple didn't fall far from the tree. I am my mother’s child. I am my father’s child. Barbara and Lewis bred me with love and advocated free thinking. I am the product and result of their unconditional love. I think they did a hellava job! Thank you God for my mother and thank you God for my father. They have given me more than they can ever imagine. (In Arabic Below)

Allahu Akbar!!!
Some people won't appreciate what you say or do, but as long as you speak honestly from the heart, you will be fine. This is not a perfect life, but life loves the person who dares to live it by being REAL.

Many people have two faces, and their true nature and character is shown in their own households, away from public eyes.
La Ilaha Illa Allah wa Allahu Akbar!
Loosing people from your life that you've cherished and loved for years, because you choose a different way of life or believe different ideologies, is very disheartening and saddens me severely.
In my case, because I embrace Islam as my path to God and admit to be Muslim, someone that I thought was very dear to me told me they want nothing more to do with me.. And, while their decision is like a dagger through my chest, I will continue to stand strong in my belief, while never degrading another's choice of beliefs.
One's beliefs are their path to "their" own personal salvation. And neither you, me, you or you have the place to implement judgment upon anyone for what life choices they choose to trek upon, so as long as those choices do not put in danger or threaten you, me or our God-given right to humanity.
While I will miss such "so-called" friend, I can not worry about issues that I have no control over. And another's conscious decision is out of my control.
In the end, trust me, we will all, individually, have our Day of Judgment.
You let me answer for my choices and you answer for yours.
Allahumma anta rabbi, la ilaha illa anta khalaqtani, wa ana 'abduka, wa ana 'ala 'ahdika wa wa'dika mastata'tu.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others.

Embracing Our Ethnicity - The BIG Chop
Recently, my BFF joined the ranks of many other Black women and made a conscious decision to cut the chemically-treated processed hair from her head and embrace her natural God-given kinky tresses. She hasn't been happier with her decision, nor looked back since. Breaking away from such mentally enslaving chains, catapults one into a new dimension of self-awareness. A more profound respect for ones self that is unfathomable. My BFF will now undergo a new form of conditioning, as many of us do after the Big Chop. Surely you will need to deep condition your hair after the BIG Chop to maintain its manageability and softness, but this type of conditioning is NOT what I'm speaking of. I am referring to a new concept of deep "mental" conditioning. Since colonialism of the coastal West African countries and one of the most heinous and horrific crimes committed against humans in the history of the world - the capture and kidnapping, lynching and murderous theft of Black Africans, ripped from their families, torn from their cultures: language, religion, traditions, the Black American, the Black British and the Black Brazilian have been entangled and lost is a strategic web of systematic untruths. Degraded down to and only seen as unintelligible entertainers and athletes, unmarriageable sex objects and whores, exotic creatures and uneducated dancing fools; Psychologically conditioned to accept societal views of what the "so-called" standard of beauty is: fair skin, long silky-like hair, broad nose, thin waif-like body. Only until recently have curvaceous and voluptuous physical assets have been viewed by society as an appealing trait since the inception of the "JLo ass", however this has forever been a natural trait of the lineage of Black women. But these unacceptable world views presses well beyond the physical characteristics of the global masses of decedants of African slaves, but transcends into the developing self of the Black American, the self-worth of the Black Brit, the self-esteem of the Black Brazilian, the self-image of us as a people and the self-actualization as descendants of African slaves. We reach a state of self-actualization when we begin to use ur lives to give something back to our families, our community and our world. Self-worth, self-esteem, self-image and self-actualization are all part of our self-concept which must be reconditioned. At this junction of our existence, it is incumbent upon us to grab a hold of and take back our human and God-given right as equals in this worldly life. We are a people of endurance, a people of resilience and humble humility. As a people, we must believe in and embrace the organic beauty and purity we possess as descendants of enslaved Africans and of our ancestral and beloved Africa. Afterall, self-concept lies at the heart of resilience. Each one Must teach one! -AG WorldWide "The WORLD Is My Classroom"
What you know is who you are. Who are you? Do you know who you are in the world? What is your world view? What do you go through? What has your life shown you? Do you have principle or do you blow with the wind? Do you want to be free, but don't know where to begin? Do you know your enemy from your friend, even your kin is deep in the system they keeping us in...

Memoirs of a Maverick: The Autobiography of April G. Brooks
Mind. Body. Soul.
Today is the 1st day of the rest of my life! I have made the conscious decision to embark upon a healthier lifestyle, not only maintaining the upkeep of my external, but being nice and gentle to my internal. A better April! My own version of "Eat. Pray. Love."!
I'm 34 years old young! I have no children and I've never been pregnant, so my body, in my opinion, should be in the best possible shape that I can fathom. Though, it is not. I'm overweight, and I am honest with me. I must be, if my goal is progressive forward movement. I'm not happy with my proportions; big here, small there...heavy here, nothing light anywhere! And at this rate, I am setting myself up for every major health disparity: diabetes, high blood pressure, hyper tension, etc.
Its quite simple actually, but as emotional beings, we complicate things. When we are not at peace with self, we must thoroughly search the root of the unrest; critically analyze the findings; then strategically map out the steps of resolution, leading to permanent forward progression. It is at this junction, I have arrived. After a major split-the breakup with an exfiance, and the instant simultaneous deaths of both my grandmother, Eva, and her eldest daughter, my Aunt Bonnie, its natural to say that stress, trauma and depression had all barged in on me. Food became my comfort. I gained weight and put on the pounds. I went from 145lbs, and have ballooned to 194lbs. Its almost as if I said, "Fuck it", and began to subconsciously punish myself.
The pain so severe...disabling; broken hearted and grief-stricken bereavement...internally paralyzing. Though, I maintained a terribly straight poker face, I was in pure agony. I am no stranger to adversity, and have always met it head-on, defeating it in its path. This will be no different. My grandmother and aunt have both paved the way of strength, perseverance, humility and authentic greatness. And, now I must stand on their shoulders, continuing their legacies, trailblazing fearlessly into my future.
