hi friends. i'm sumayyah. this blog is now home to all of my interests ranging from shows to books to music. some things, like my love for tulips and photos of the sky, will never change. other things, like what i write about, will.

honestly, i'm probably forgetting some of them, but i'm putting what i remember here, and this is usually just whatever i'm into at that current time

books: my top five are the book thief, babel, this is how you lose the time war, human acts, on earth we're briefly gorgeous

i've recently become very interested in translated fiction due to the fact that it will never be completely accurate and some things just do not work, but we try our best to define them in a way that the audience will understand

music: my music taste can be defined as all the songs i like, apart from the ones i don't, but my favourite artists as of right now are: seventeen, stray kids, zerobaseone, ive, kateseye, conan gray, erin lecount

i also love enhypen, i-dle, txt and everybody's worried about owen

tv shows: anyone that knows me knows i have the biggest commitment issues when it comes to finishing any tv shows, however, there are a few i've either finished or really adored- excluding the ones i've written for, these are kim's convenience, superstore, the devil judge, my demon, and alice in borderland

hobbies: i am the first person to drop things as soon as i am not good at them, but over the years i've discovered that the hobbies i stick to are the following

writing- obviously, reading, although i can go months without finishing a book, scrapbooking- my first starts when i was four, and i don't see myself stopping, and recently i started dancing again (and by that, i mean i badly follow kpop dance practices to get some movement in my day)

Ethnic cleansing is not just the active removal of a people by force, it is also creating conditions that necessitate their displacement. Every single Ghazzawi who has been displaced to Egypt or elsewhere as a result of this genocide is a victim of ethnic cleansing unless their unconditional right of return is afforded to them, which likely it will not be. I just get weary of every time a Palestinian family is helped to flee Gaza seeing that framed as a ‘success story’ or a happy ending. These people were ethnically cleansed from their homeland by Israel. That is a tragedy. It is only a ‘success’ in that they live to see another day. The conditions which were manufactured specifically to make their displacement an existential necessity should’ve never been imposed upon them in the first place. They should not have had to flee their homeland with the likelihood they will never return to escape a holocaust. I need you all to understand that. It’s a happier story, yes, but it’s still a fucking tragedy.
