Pointers for Review for the 2nd GP Exam
Pointers for Review: Noting Details (sequencing), Making Inferences and Getting the Meaning of Vocabulary through Context Clues (multiple choice), Identifying Figures of Speech (multiple choice), Explaining Figures of Speech/Figurative Language (short answer), Identifying Descriptive Details and Dominant Impression (chart completion), Writing Adjective Clauses (short answer), Making Connections between the text and your experiences in school (paragraph writing). For Honors 2-A: Also explaining the satire ("a way of using humor to show that someone or something is foolish, weak, bad, etc.") in The Ugly Duckling. Some tips for the Tristan and Isolda reading material: Look up the summaries of Tristan and Isolda and write notes on the 13th-14th pages. Also summarize each of the 7 scenes in Tristan and Isolda. Lastly, look up all C/S and Sensory Words, Figures of Speech (make sure you can explain them), and Adjective Clauses. Be conscious of the Dominant Impression you are creating.

2-A only: Social Network Romeo and Juliet: a Pinterest tragedy
2-A only: Form groups of 4-5 members. Create an account on Pinterest and search the web for images that you would like to pin onto our board: I have sent everyone invites on their FB accounts. I hope this will now work. The images must match the memorable lines or passages that your group will use. Think of this as a collage that we are creating with pictures from all over the web. Each group of 4-5 members is to pin images that the members feel are visual representations of at least 10 Memorable Passages (MPs) from Romeo and Juliet. 3 of the MPs must come from the list on pages 299-301 of your copies of the Folger Shakespeare edition of Romeo and Juliet. The remaining 7 MPs must come from your group. After pinning a picture, add a comment which contains the quoted MP and your group's name.
