I don’t wanna get involved in the drama I just wanna know 103% of the information on what happened
“Listen, there is a reason I spend my mornings alone in my room. It’s because I have the tendency to projectile vomit when I’m hungover. So you can either blast or soak up some of last nights crunch wrap.”
“Mm, no. I would call this ‘drinking to avoid having a conversation about being the only one who hasn’t accomplished anything in your family’,” A pause. That statement, she supposed, wasn’t entirely truthful. “Well, one of two. This is why I hate family gatherings. At least it’s in public, where I can hide at the bar.”
lux.
Pinching the bridge of her nose she shook her head, ‘ Home alone, & parents were out on their date night — which is what I already told him. Simple & no questioned asked. ’ Rolling onto her stomach she groaned into the pillow as her bra from last night was flung against her. ‘ Not a bad girlfriend ? I’m pretty sure this the worst thing I could have down. I don’t even think sleeping with an ex qualifies to be as bad as this, ’ she mumbled into the pillow not even sure if she was making audible sentences. Not flinching from her position until the majority of last nights clothes were in her reaching vicinity did she start to move. ‘ I am not answering that. ’ she laughed moving so she could latch her bra up in the back. ‘ You are both good in different ways. ’
“Oh, well, how quiet and respectable of you,” Penn said, rolling his eyes a bit as he nudged open the door to his bathroom that he shared with Jax, who was, as usual, not at home. “You know, I was trying to be helpful but you’re kind of right, this is pretty bad,” he agreed as he gargled down some water to help soothe the dry burn of his throat. “But I mean, could be worse. You could have also killed his cat.” Penn spit out the water in the sink and wiped his mouth on the back of his hand, avoiding the mirror at all costs. He knew his hungover look- it wasn’t a great confidence booster, and as a man who took an (admittedly) large interest in his appearance, he wasn’t looking forward tot he bloodshot eyes and dark circles. “Tch,” he muttered under his breath when she gave him the phony answer. “Come on. You know that’s bullshit. I need to know. Who’s better at fucking. It’s gotta be me I’ve got like, how much of an experience build on him? A lot, that’s how much.” Now that the danger of Ben finding out exactly what had happened was subsided, Penn felt himself relaxing a bit more into his normal state- haughty and smug. “Besides, you seemed into it last night.”

Her eyes narrowed at him choosing to keep her words to herself rather than try and bicker with him, because frankly she was too tired to do so. She let out a small scoff at his words causing her eyes to roll. ‘ Doesn’t mean I’m gonna tell him about some stupid drunken mistake. You have to look him in the eye & be all family & blood. ’ — ‘ God, don’t say that. It makes it so much worse when you say it aloud. ’ she mused turning her head back into the darkness created by her arms & knees. ‘ Man, I’m the worst girlfriend, ’ sighing and collapsing back against the bed not wanting to move in the least bit. ‘ Wanna past it me ? Since you’re up & all. ’ Running her hand through her mess of hair she nodded in agreement. ‘ Fine by me. ’
“Yeah, okay,” Penn said, lips pressed in a thin line. She wouldn’t tell him, and he certainly wouldn’t bring it up, so, well, they should be fine, right? Ben wouldn’t be back till later in the day, and he probably didn’t even know she’d been at the house...it would be fine. “Okay, well, look. You better have an alibi for tonight because he’s tricky. He figures shit out. He figured out Jax was the one who crashed the civic junior year, and he covered his tracks like Jesus.” Penn rolled his shoulders as he walked to the desk, picking up the bra and tossing it to Lux on the bed. “Since I’m up and all, sure....” He nodded a bit and then rubbed the back of his neck, fingers twisting into the hair that curled along the nape of his neck. “Look, you’re not a bad girlfriend. We were both just, like, drunk. Shit happens. No one needs to get hurt. And by get hurt, I mean me. He’ll kick my ass.” It took a bit of searching, but eventually he found her panties near the bathroom, and her shirt had somehow been kicked under the bed. And then, before he could really think it through- “Okay, I know this is inappropriate and shit but I gotta know...I’m better, right? This has never happened before and I don’t think it will again so I need to know if I’ve got the better dick.”
lux.
‘ The fuck are you going on about ? ’ she groans, still assuming she was sleeping in her boyfriend’s bed. Finally opening her eyes, the grogginess is quick to dissipate when she came around to realizing just who’s bed she was in. ‘ What the fuck — Why am I —. ’ Lux starts off before the holes of last night start to piece together. Still slow with her reaction, mostly from the raging hangover that was only getting worse by the minute, she sits up holding the duvet tight to her chest. ‘ No, no, no. ’ she mumbles to herself as she hears Penn ramble, mostly towards their actions as if she was trying to forget it happened. Holding her head in her hands she groans once again, ‘ On your rambling ? No, because my head is fucking pounding & my mouth feels like the damn Sahara desert. ’ Still tucked nicely in the warmth of the fabric, her knees pull to her chest so she can comfortably rest her arms & head against them. ‘ What makes you think I’ll be the one to tell him ? ’
“Now is not the time for your sass,” Penn said pointedly, eyeing her over his shoulder. Under any sort of normal circumstance, he would have been much more, well, charming in the morning after. But this was not normal by any stretch of meaning. With both hands pressed to his temples, he massaged his head until his fingers started to ache from the pressure. “Why? Because you’re the girl, and you’re the one who’s gonna have to look him in the eye and be all, you know, romantic and shit- look I don’t know, I’m just talking here because I’m having a moment and I have a fuckin’ headache, and I fucked my brother’s girlfriend.” He took a deep breath, and slowly let it out his nose, letting his shoulders sag a bit as he thought. “Alright. Well, one step at a time...” He finally mustered the effort to get out of bed, reaching down as he stood to sweep up his boxers from the floor. “Your bra is on the desk,” he muttered, scanning the room for the other articles of her clothing as he fumbled with his own pants. “You know, it would be really nice it neither of us told him.”
lux.
She was slow drifting in and out of her sleeping daze as the dull throbbing throughout her skull grew more painful along with the dryness in her throat. Comfortable on her side she found herself on instinct nuzzling closer to the skin that was now pressed against her. Inhaling deeply, it was a bit of an unfamiliar smell than she was used to waking up to — though she simply blamed it on the lack of awareness that she was in right now. There was a sudden shift in the bed and a loss of body heat that caused her to wake up a bit more than she would have liked. Keeping her eyes closed she groaned at his words that rang a little louder in her head. ‘ What ? ’ she mumbled, snuggling against the pillow wanted to fall back asleep.
The hand he dragged roughly across his face did little to soothe the gnawing stress that was curling around his chest. God, Ben was going to have an aneurysm. A literal fuckin’ aneurysm. “What, what? You, that’s what. You gotta get the hell out of my room before this becomes an episode of Dr. Fuckin’ Phil,” Penn said gruffly, voice still heavy with sleep as he flipped the blankets off of him and rolled his legs off the bed- an instant mistake. “Oh fuck,” he muttered as he rested his aching head into the cusp of his hands. He hunched over on the bed, like a breaking willow. Too much damn drinking. He’d fucked up for real this time, literally. “Oh man...he’s not going to forgive me for this.” Penn wasn’t thinking in rational lines. His mind was jumping in several directions at once. He had a bit of a hard time clamping down on his thoughts until one rang clear. “Okay, no. We just won’t tell him. We can’t tell him, okay? So...if you feel like you have to do the right thing then you just say it was a nameless drunken idiot...” Penn rubbed his eyes, hesitating to stand. He knew that as soon as he did, the hangover would either knock him right back on his ass or send him to lean over the toilet, neither he was keen on doing at the moment. “Are you, like, picking up on any of this?”
He could feel the headache before he opened his eyes. Splitting, in the back of his head, pounding with each tiny motion of his body. It was a harsh pain, but a pain he was very accustomed to. When he rolled over to his side and felt his warm skin press against someone, he barely flinched. That was also a feeling he was used to. He didn’t even need to open his eyes to wrap his arms around the soft rise of the shoulders beside him and tilt his head into the pillow of hair that smelled like soap and smoke all at once. Brow woven with the pounding of his head, he was content enough to try and sleep it off for a little bit longer. That was, until piece by piece the pestering memories of the night before burrowed through the chipping headache. And in an instant, he sat up straight and stared at the girl next to him - one all too familiar. “Oh, f u c k.”
