gibbous || emille & william
He winced, slowly standing. He had meant to say it⊠or perhaps he just hadnât meant to say it out loud. Emille opened his mouth to protest but looked down at Williamâs words. He was right. Heâd barely been able to think straight much less make actual decisions. As much as he wanted to tell William he was wrong. That heâd made a stupid decision⊠the hunter was annoyingly right. As much as it tore him apart. But William had made the right decision. Not for them. But him. As long as he was safe⊠Emille would repeat it that choice⊠but goddamn if heâd had another that had included staying with him. The beta crouched, looking across at William, hand on the ground as if to stabilize himself. âI know. âÂ
Looking up at the wolf, William's breaths grew silent. He studied Emille's face, finding only truth, earnesty. They had swung from every possible emotion. He sat up a bit straighter, gritting his teeth through a sharp pain in his side. It had him smiling sadly after the fact. This was the closest he'd been yet. William swore he could make out every subtle freckle that just barely hinted on the other's skin. There was definitely the dirt on his clothes. the smell of him. Without a word, the huntsman's hand came up to the back of Emille's neck, gently drawing him closer. He kissed the other man gently, thinking very little of the gesture he had not acted on in decades. When William drew back, he stared for a moment. Then, he moved to rise, finally wincing outright and keeping his arm tight around his torso. Realizing what he'd done, he didn't look at Emillle. He wasn't sure how the wolf would take it, nor could he believe he'd just... done it.
