I think it's fascinating that for some folks, political identity (socialist/marxist/et cetera) takes the same role as religious identity. It's not a new topic of discussion at all, but it's interesting and fun to poke at. Similar roles in society, similar modes of propoganda/prosylitization, similarly deep attachments from believers, sometimes even similar hierarchies.
