I've reached 30k words! Just a few thousand more to go before Jill's route is finished. 🌟 I'm excited to start on Antonio and Frankie's routes. I'm projecting that the finished game will have about 105k words.

Alpha Playtest?

I have a question for other VN devs. When playtesting an alpha version, how much content do you share? I'm almost finished with my first route, and I'm wondering if I should share the whole path or make a demo version of what I've got so far. Any thoughts welcome. 😊

Matchmaker: First Date Info Sheet

Hello! This will give general information as well as answer some questions you might have about the game. Matchmaker: First Date is about experiencing the ups and downs of a first date. This is a choices matter VN that is heavily conversation based. The game is meant to be played multiple times.

Lore:

Matchmaker: First Date takes place fifty years after the Cataclysm. Rebuilding efforts have been strong, and there are a number of small cities and communities that have popped up in the last fifty years.

250k people live in your city, Pillar. The city is expanding and has a lot of opportunities. One of the new services they offer is called Matchmaker. Matchmaker is designed to romantically match citizens of Pillar together in the hopes of fostering new growth in the city.

You have been matched with three potential love interests and must choose who to go on a first date with!

How many routes will there be?:

There will be 3 routes (1 woman, 1 man, and 1 nonbinary love interest)

What's the total word length?:

The games total word length will come to around 90k words. Each route will be around 30k words.

What's the playthrough time?:

One playthrough should take you around 1 hour to complete.

Unless, >!you're mean/rude, then the playtime will be shorter.!<

What's the completionist time?

To complete all paths in all 3 routes it will take you around 6-8 hours.

Will there be a demo?

Yes, I plan to have the demo finished and posted by March 2026. It will be available on itch.io and Steam. Each demo route will have about 15-20 minutes of gameplay time.

Is this an otome game?

This is a self-insert VN. You enter your name and can roleplay as either a woman/man/nonbinary/etc. The game is gender neutral and does not use pronouns for the player.

When will the game be released?

It will be released August 2026.
