180910 Seungri Interview with Sanspo News, Japan “In Seungri’s interview he said the title of his album was inspired by the movie adaptation of The Great Gatsby. “I’m not trying to arrogantly say that I’m great. It’s just that I really like Leonardo DiCaprio.” In the movie Gatsby fights for his lost love by hosting parties. He (Seungri) enjoys making people have fun and he tries to give fans feelings of joy, the same as Gatsby.

He said that he tried to express himself the way he is. With members in the army there was no one to give him advice, so he decided to just show himself in a natural way. He said this album is heavier because he expressed some of the things he’s experienced over a 10+ year career. There have been sad and tough obstacles. But those are not wounds of a lost love, but wounds of a man who has encountered many obstacles.

He says he likes looking for his name on SNS and checking the fans’ opinions and reactions. He was checking reactions to his new album, too. Many fans listened to the Japanese version and commented that he sounds calmer and his songs are deeper.
