Aikido is often translated as "the way of unifying (with) life energy" or as "the way of harmonious spirit." Ueshiba's goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attacker from injury.

FIGHTING STYLE:

as being in the novice skill level, chanyeol remains this way as he sees no point in trying to become a master of a war he takes no second thoughts about. being towards himself, he manages to stay out of trouble for the most part, but his father taught him how to defend himself if he ever gotten into any trouble. since his bloodline come from a long line of masters from the clan the fighting style of his ancestors were passed down to his father which he passed down to him. chanyeol has a lot of knowledge when it comes to mixing concoctions in order to make someone deadly ill or temporarly sick. be careful, he might posion your drink.

weapons of choice: daggers && needles

when it comes to him using weapons, chanyeol takes the initiative to keep them out of the enemies sight as much as possible as each weapon is laced with clear toxic substances that can be quite deadly depending on which on he uses.

chanyeol’s family come from a line of black mambas. due to his stealth like movements, and swiftness in movemnt, he fits the breed of his family well. though, when in form he tends to stand out than the rest of his family, tending to be a lighter color.

BACKGROUND:

park chanyeol was born to the snake clan – to be specific, a family of black mambas. being known that these are the most deadliest snakes on earth, his ancestors were surprisingly on the good side of the zodiac war, having said that the dragon was nothing but as selfless person. during this war, his ancestors were known for using the most deadly toxins – having immense knowledge in toxicology.

one would think that if his family fought then his generation would continue along, but that wasn’t the case. chanyeol’s parents are known for being doctors in the village they live in. his father kept their alliance neutral as he felt it was better for his family not to get involved with anything having to do with the past war, or anything else having to do with the jaded dragon. with that being said, chanyeol’s grandfather became furious as he was disappoint in his son for not continuing along with what the family fought for. this became an issue for years until finally his grandfather accepted his choice – hoping that his son’s children will have the same set of mind he did.

chanyeol, since young, had always been towards himself. during his younger years he didn’t seem to have friends which worried his parents. it wasn’t that he was being ignored by the other kids, it was actually the other way around. his sister whom three years younger, had the most friends out of the two. they were the complete opposites as she was bubbly, and kind and always with a smile on her face as he was more to himself, with little to no emotions.

the young male had heard a lot of what his grandfather would tell him about the jaded dragon, or the zodiac war. the stories seem endless, but chanyeol didn’t care. he didn’t want to have to label himself as good or bad, nor did he want to fight a fight that didn’t pertain to him. as he was always told that if he were to fight along side with the good, then his future to come would be filled with good for his children’s future. chanyeol remained neutral along with his parents, but not for the same reason as he didn’t seem to care. his sister on the other hand decided to adhere her parents words, but chanyeol could always sense a longing for her to join her grandfather. he just never felt the need to say anything about it as it was his sister’s choice, and not his. though, there was a small hint of curiosity as to what was about to come in the future.

AGE: 18.

CLAN: RABBIT.

SKILL LEVEL: APPRENTICE.

FIGHTING STYLE: born into a family of hunters, mihyun is adept in using daggers; ranged or close combat. she had also dabbled on archery but it proved to not be her field of expertise.

OCCUPATION: HUNTER.

ZODIAC FORM: white bengal tiger; with stripes faintly visible only in certain parts, under certain angles. the stripes are very minimum-pigmented it’s viewed as a light brown or almost gold. her tiger form also has blue eyes.

ALLIANCE: good.

CHI: 白; a chinese character translating to ‘white.’

BACKGROUND: kim mihyun was born into a rowdy family that had been hunters for generations. they lived in the outer parts of the clan’s territory. kim mihyun was slowly growing up as years passed; she was sweet, loving, adored by everyone as that one cute yet a little tomboyish daughter of the kim hunters.

kim mihyun was nine when she first encountered fresh blood. her father and uncles had been too loud in the middle of the night, dragging in the results of their hunt through the back door to store it. little mihyun peeked through all of it and the darkness only did little to conceal the beauty of it. blood. scarlet fresh blood flowing out of the wounds of a wild deer. it captivated her in all the twisted ways; she knew it was wrong, but there was something about the crimson fluid that drew her in, piquing her interests. that night was always stored somewhere in her mind, but never brought up. as young as she was, mihyun was not stupid to know that it wasn’t morally acceptable to like blood that much.

kim mihyun was fourteen when she first realized that she was perhaps addicted to the adrenaline she got from fighting and hunting. the realization came out of the blue and she still shut her mouth about it, talking and joking around with friends like the friendly flower she is.

kim mihyun was sixteen when someone she deeply trusted — someone she believed in so much she told them her about her fascination towards blood and addiction to adrenaline — betrayed her. they went away when they promised they wouldn’t; and mihyun knew they couldn’t be trusted with her secrets. it sent her into a paranoia; voices filling her mind;

“which person is enticed by blood? which person is that much of a fighting mania? only freaks; that’s who. only freaks; that’s you.”

but sweet, loving kim mihyun had not disappeared. it was always a trust-worthy front; her only companion is herself. it was better, at the very least, than being alone completely.

kim mihyun was sixteen when she was offered to join an alliance of tigers that supported the dragons. she shook her head no because she liked the idea of balance; yinyang. as much as her disgusting, tainted self fit the greedy wishes of the dragons; as much as it would lead her closer to the blood, the adrenaline rush she adored; being black amidst all the black side doesn’t sound tempting. it was like being similar to everybody else. so perhaps, mihyun would just be the black dot in the yin; the dirty one amongst all the clean and good-natured.

kim mihyun is eighteen, almost nineteen. all she has is herself now; no one of the family or friends is allowed to know. all she has always had is herself but perhaps, that’s a little more than okay.

FULL NAME: lee mijoo

AGE: twenty-one

CLAN: Horse

SKILL LEVEL: novice

FIGHTING STYLE: Mijoo doesn’t have any particular style when she fights hovewer as a novice she surely can defends herself enough. You can say that she has a good amount of strenght and she knows how to use it without exaggerating, her moves are strong and sharp at the same time.

OCCUPATION: Waitress at her parents’ tavern “The Golden Horse”.

ZODIAC FORM: in her zodiac form, mijoo is an Akhal-Teke. thanks to her distinctive metallic sheen, her refined head and almond-shaped eyes with an upright neck and thin skin she’s appreciated for her beauty. she often jokes about it saying that she’s more beautiful as an animal.

ALLIANCE: good

CHI: mijoo’s symbol is the character of “harmony” or 和. it’s placed in the back of her head or nape, his color is black but it tends to become red when exposed to the sun light.

BACKGROUND: mijoo was born in a small village of the horse clan as the second daughter out of two - her parents run a small tavern named “the golden horse” that also serve as a place to sleep for many travellers. she spent most of her childhood helping her parents at their tavern due to the fact that they couldn’t afford a highest salary to hire more staff. however this didn’t stop her from wanting to learn more about martial arts, mijoo unlike the other girls in the village always wanted to be able to defend herself, especially in a world where was rather uncommon to find girls as famous fighters as much as guys. her brother, who used to learn martial arts since he was a child, helped her in this and they used to practice together in the morning.

mijoo is now a young woman with many dreams to realize, her brother became a master and he run a dojo where new apprentices from their clan and not practice to improve their fighting style. mijoo is a novice, she still helps her parents at their tavern but she’s trying to find a real work for her and perhaps to be a better fighter.

sorry, but just to be clear: your rules say that aikido is accepting only fcs involved in the korean entertainment industry. does that mean we can apply with someone from a different asian descent (chinese, thai, japanese, etc) as long as they work in korea? thank you!!

█  Yes, you can! Idols like Jackson Wang from GOT7 or Lu Han who is an ex-member of EXO can apply even though they are not Korean by ethnicity.

Is it possible for someone's occupation to be to deliver messages from clan to clan, or would that be unlikely because of how isolated some clans are?

█  Yes, of course! It would be a death wish for anyone to be delivering anything in and out of the Dragon clan, but delivery by foot is the most common way of communication for the clans since modern transportation and technology are non-existent.

Are our muses allowed to be in their clans military? and if so what would be their skill level?

█  Only some clans like the Ox and Tiger clan have an organized military, but yes, they are allowed to be members of them! Their skill levels would be the same (beginner, novice, etc.) but they would be more adept at wielding weapons.

FULL NAME: Kim Jong-in

AGE: twenty-two

CLAN: dog

SKILL LEVEL: novice

FIGHTING STYLE: Since in his zodiac form he spends a lot of time on all of his legs, he’s found kick boxing the easiest to adapt to. Still, he doesn’t discriminate. He tries to train in all forms of martial arts, but he doesn’t like to push himself too much, so he focuses on perfecting the ones he finds easiest, which would be karate and kickboxing.

OCCUPATION: currently unemployed

ZODIAC FORM: Jongin has the natural build of a Belgian Malinois. He’s almost one full color, which is a light brown, instead of having different colors around random spots on him. For this, he is praised, but his coat in general isn’t too loved for its color. Despite so, he has learned to love both his animal and human appearance. He has no unique or extraordinary marks that stand out immediately.

ALLIANCE: good, he was raised to hate the dragons and their cause, even if he doesn’t fully understand it. The fact will make him cautious of interacting with a member of the dragon clan, but he won’t hesitate to befriend them if he finds them worthy.

CHI: Jongin’s symbol is very simple; it is only the side profile of a dog. His zodiac form, to be exact. The animal is lifting his head as he howls. The mark is medium sized, and placed at the top of the back of his right wrist, where the veins appear. It isn’t colored in, meaning it is just an outline, except for the details. The details include shading to signify the fur, the mouth complete with teeth, and the only visible eye.

BACKGROUND: For his entire life, Jongin was never allowed to leave his village. Everyone told him stories about the other clans. How the dragon clan was full of demons, how the rats are promiscuous, etc. He was raised to be in fear of the other clans. His parents made sure of this, since they didn’t want another child of theirs to be murdered by another clan.

After the death, they had Jongin, meaning he was an only child. There were pictures of his dead older sister set up around the house, though no one said anything about her. Every time he’d ask, he’d get in trouble, so he recognized asking about her with pain. No one would tell him how or why his older sister had gotten killed. Yet he was constantly surrounded by other children due to the homey village he lived in, so it was like he had over a hundred sisters, younger and older. He loved socializing with his metaphorical sisters, and everyone else.

He had gotten every piece of his parents attention. There was hardly a second where they weren’t watching over him, even after he had become of age. Although he wasn’t one to be ungrateful, he wanted to explore more of what the world had to offer. He knew there was more outside of the clan, and he’d risk his safety to get a piece of it. His parents, however, wouldn’t have that. There was no way another child of theirs would get killed. So while Jongin understood their fears, he realized he was a grown man and that his parents couldn’t control him anymore.

FULL NAME: jeon jeongguk

AGE: nineteen

CLAN: rat clan

SKILL LEVEL: apprentice

FIGHTING STYLE: jeongguk’s fighting style is whimsical and playful, just like his personality. he would rather taunt and evade his opponent rather than inflict damage, but he’s rather swift when on his feet when actually doing harm.

OCCUPATION: part-time delivery boy for small errands

ZODIAC FORM: in zodiac form, jeongguk is smaller than his fellow rats. the coloration of his fur, an ashen gray, is common for his kind and is rather plain. he has a patch of white fur on his stomach and pink ears and limbs.

ALLIANCE: good

CHI: jeongguk’s chi forms in the chinese character of light, or 光.

BACKGROUND: jeongguk’s parents, both proud warriors of the rat clan, were assassinated by the dragon clan just weeks after he was born. he was alone and without guidance until one of the clan elders took him and another orphaned boy from another clan under his wing. the elder had high expectations for the both of them but as jeongguk grew, he turned out to be more troublesome than anyone expected.

unlike his stoic mother and reserved father, jeongguk was restless and disobedient, often slipping out of studies to whimsically explore wherever pleased him. he would often persuade his adopted sibling to cause trouble with him, which almost always ended with both of them doing clean-up duty in the shrines as punishment. he was a public nuisance to the clan and his name was well-known among the citizens. he loved it, though. he loved the adrenaline of sneaking into the womens’ wing at the bathhouses or chasing the chickens in the coops, all for good-natured fun, of course.

eventually, his guardian grew impatient of his troublesome ways and finally decided that it was time for jeongguk to be more serious about his training. for several years, he trained day and night, until one day the dragon clan took their peaceful village by storm and injured his master. with no strength left to recover, jeongguk’s master left the two brothers all that he had and passed on. after his master’s death, the seriousness of the situation dawned upon him and jeongguk then swore to become stronger.

What year is this set in?

█  Think “Feudal Japan” or “Dynasty Era of China” which can date as early as the year 1400-1600. Technology as we know it didn’t exist back then, nor did french fries and automobiles! If you want a better reference, I would suggest watching some clips of Kung Fu Panda.

█  Apprentices can have a side job! Masters, on the other hand, must make it their one and only duty to protect their clan.

Is it possible for a muse to be the child of two people from different clans? If so, how would that work out exactly?

█  Yes, it’s possible! In this case, the person possessing the more dominant gene of the pair would pass on their lineage to their offspring. So, a child born from parents of the Ram and Snake clan, for example, can only turn into one of the two Zodiacs and manipulate only one of their abilities. You can choose for your muse which gene was dominant.
