"Iām usually pretty good with awkward situations, but I really donāt know what to say back to that.āĀ
"It's so simple though! It's not even awkward. I asked where you got your bra. I'm tired of supporting Victoria's freaking secret."
I stopped putting much thought into weight gain long before calorie counting became a thing, kid.
How are you, Nora?
Calorie counting is pointless. It's the sugar that actually affects you.
As good as you can be when you find out that your high school sweetheart was staked through the heart.
Youāre not the first person to say that to me.
Fine, but I still stand by celery and peanut butter being better than apples and peanut butter.
Really? That's mildly concerning.
Celery is stringy. It tastes like water. I think there's a fact somewhere that you actually burnĀ calories while chewing celery.Ā
"Nora, Iām so sorry," she murmured, meeting her friendās eyes with a look of concern. She had heard about the murder of Adam and Zoe but hadnāt put two and two together. "Right," she said, nodding as she took in the information about her former best friend. She didnāt know why Juliet would want to talk to her. "What did she look like? Did you catch a name?" she asked, biting her lip worriedly. No one harmed her Coven. "Thank god for Piper," she sighed.
Nora's throat felt dry, but she wasn't about to ask Sophie for a glass of water. She couldn't come across as nervous, or as uneasy-- she had to be strong. Tucking a few strands of loose hair behind her ear, Nora bit down onto her lip. At least Sophie didn't stand on the topic of Adam for too long. "No, no." Nora closed her eyes, trying to recall the memory. "She was blonde. Blue eyes. That's all I can really remember," Nora offered. "Yeah, thank God." Nora murmured, rubbing her palms together. "Where have you been?"
Many called her beautiful. She was not beautiful. She was red, and terrible, and red.
Youād be an awful politician, Nora.
You sound just like my mom. Impressive. Back to the point. I'm not getting involved.
"Oh-- Oh God, don't look at me!" Glancing around, Nora put her hand up in defense, "I'm just sitting here. Don't look at me for that kind of opinion."
Sophie untied the strings of her apron, while shaking her head animatedly. āDonāt bother, Nora. Itās definitely Camilleās turn to scrub the tables.ā She then noticed the red headās weary expression and immediately her concern for her friend took over. āCome on, have a seat. Now whatās going on?ā
"Are you sure?" Nora was at a loss. The thing she wanted to do most was keep her hands busy, and yet, here she was, standing still in a vacant room with nothing to contribute to. Swallowing thickly, Nora did as she was instructed and sat down. "Adam's dead." Looking up at Sophie, Nora pursed her lips. "Juliet was looking for you." There wasĀ so much to tell her. "Some blonde girl.. at the Gala.. got angry when I knocked into her. We fought for a good few minutes.. or, rather, she clawed at me and I cringed. Um, Piper got me out of it." Taking a deep breath, Nora clasped her hands together. "Sorry. That was... a lot."
Itās a simple spell, really. But I use expression Nora.
...Expression?
Nora Ainsley Moodboard --> Personality --> Insecurities [1/??]
"If this is you coming onto me in a ānaive young gay seeks role modelā fashion, you should know that I use sex as a coping mechanism so I donāt have to deal with having actual emotions and Iām really big on one night stands,"
"So - flattered, but I donāt think Iām your type, Nora,"
"Wait, what?! I'm not trying to get you into bed! I was asking you to teach me how to tie a cherry stem-- I've never been able to do it, and you did it so fast, and I just-- Harper,Ā seriously?"
"Uh, why do you say that?"
Victoria kept thinking about what sheād said. She hated how true it was as much as she hated feeling weak and vulnerable. She hated that she was forced to turn to the enemy because she couldnāt find another way. But that was her reality and she couldnāt do anything but push those thoughtsā nightmares that haunted herā away. She met Noraās gaze, sighing quietly. āThatās how it should beāAnd we want to believe that thereās something so badlyā¦ā She glanced at the little bird. It was about as lively as the woman was. āThen againā¦ā The words softly left her lips. āMaybe protection is not a given right, maybe we have to earn it. Search for it.ā She looked up at the girl, hoping to hear her opinion.Ā
So many around Nora had forgotten what hope was. They were so hellbent on destruction and chaos that they didn't stick to what their heart told them, to what they could see prior to the blinding pain. In Nora's mind, that's what made them helpless. Luckily for her, she hadn't experienced anything to that particular multitude, and she still had her mind about her. Nora hated that the woman was right. Nobody justĀ deserved protection. You had to fight for it. You had to earn it, and show that you would replicate that protection and pass it onto somebody else. Did that mean Nora didn't deserve protection? She was good for nothing. "What if you can't fight for that protection." Nora looked back to the bird, "what if you're too naive and young to understand the concept?" She looked back to the woman, hoping for an answer. She looked like she had a wisdom about her-- a wisdom that Nora hoped she could pass on.
Teach you what exactly?
Whatever it is that you just did.
"And get you killed by Marcel? Yeah, I donāt think so."
"You're the one who reports back to him." Nora stared at Davina. "If you don't tell him, then I probably won't get killed. That's how it works, right?"
